Switch Content Script II
Switch Content Script II is a flexible script that adds contact/expand functionality to almost any content on a page. You may have seen something similar used on sites such as Microsoft.com. It lets the viewer choose which content on the page to contract, to remove unnecessary clutter. An image icon is used to toggle between states when clicked on and to show the current state of the content. And to complete the experience, permanent cookies are used to remember the content states so they are retained even when the user leaves then returns to the page three days from now, for example. Did we miss anything? :)
This script is a cousin of the popular Switch Content script. Which one to use depends on what you're trying to achieve. The original script is suitable for arbitrary content on the page, to conserve space by initially contracting all of them until one is clicked on. Switch Content script II on the other hand is suitable for blocks of content that you simply wish to give the viewer the power to decide which ones to contract after viewing all of the contents in their expanded form initially.
