Google PageRank Basics

Google PageRank is one of the most talked about algorithms in search optimization history.At inception, Google was based almost entirely on PageRank. In the Google Thesis, they discuss how they had developed Google to be simple text-matching, then sorted by PageRank. The PageRank formula is based on references. Links in to a site are considered votes for a page, and thus, increase the value of that page in the search ranking.
