I believe my gmail starts automatically when I turn on my pc.....I don't want it to.
How do I set it up not to start automatically.
How do I turn off the mouse auto click when it hovers over a link in a web page. I downloaded the windows 10 and it has started doing this. I can't find a thing anywhere about this issue. I have an Asus laptop and a Toshiba laptop and they are both doing this since getting the windows 10. I spend more time going back to my original page than I get to read the original page! Try shopping and reading a description. Taking a test online was challenging to say the least.
View 9 RepliesI notice an unpleasant GUI-level change that appears after the upgrade to 1511. The issue seem to exist on all machines after 1511 upgrade.
Firstly, Google Chrome shortcut pinned to Start Menu now appears on dark gray tile, instead of the regular "color accent" tile. Is this a bug or a feature?
Secondly, an attempt to pin the Chrome-generated GMail shortcut to Start Menu immedaitely loses its dedicated icon and gets a regular Chrome icon instead. E.g. before the upgrade it was possible to pin the GMail link to the Start Menu and it would retain its GMail icon. After the upgrade it is no longer possible to keep the icon.
Had many many compatibility problems with windows 10. HP have been brilliant. I have to use firefox now because 10 doesn't like chrome. It doesn't like avg either.
anyway, I recently had a hip replacement and have other medical issues. I desperately need to send a document that i scanned on my phone to the google drive on my new laptop.
I have the same issue with sending myself an email of my personal spreadsheets.
simply put I have gone from vista to 10, I am trying to teach myself. I use firefox now with settings to gmail. I have downloaded adobe file reader, but no matter what i do i cannot email anything using my gmail email. I do not want to use outlook
I'd like to be able to pin Gmail icon to the task bar, but it attaches to my Mozilla Icon. On windows xp and window 7, the icon link always showed in the TB. Have tried 4 or 5 times, but still no luck.
how to do this?
slow to learn with my windows 10..question is,I can't find the button for "print" when i'm viewing my gmail..Where is it. Is there a different way to print?

View 4 Replies I opened Gmail from inside Chrome, and deleted an email. Then opened Windows 10 Mail and the email is still in my inbox?
I've clicked the sync icon in mail, but that didn't work.
Gmail is my main email and I have it set up in the Mail app. It's configured to use Notifications but I'm not getting anything when email arrives. Does notifications only work with Outlook accounts?

Gmail does not display any incoming mail. Outlook.com will import them from Gmail, but will not itself display any incoming mail. Have resorted to using AOL.COM address as alternative mail address.
Having got all of my standard stuff, including having MS Outlook handle my email accounts, sorted out; I decided to give the new Windows 10 Mail Application a try.
Unfortunately I cannot get it to do a darned thing:-
1. With my Hotmail account I get error code 0x80070032. I've tried a couple of suggested "solutions" without success.
2. With my Gmail account I get "We didn't find anything to show here" or "Still working on it". Either way nothing shows up.
Maybe I should just stick with MS Outlook.
Since upgrading to Win 10 last week, I have not been able to send emails from Gmail in Outlook 2013.
It was fine in Win 8.1.
My email settings are
IMAP
Outgoing server requires authentication - is ticked
Incoming = 993 with SSL
Outgoing = 587 with TLS
All other setting as normal. When I run a test it comes back as good and will receive emails, but nothing will send.
when I change my sync setting of Gmail in windows 10 mail app, ie; sync mails from any time, it stop synchronizing the mails . It happens both in Gmail normal emails as well as gmail app mails.
View 2 RepliesMy OS is Windows 10. I have been using MS Office Outlook for my email. I've used it for years. A few weeks ago I decided to try gmail so I set up an account. I did not give anyone my gmail address but for some reason I started to get a lot of my email from friends who have my Outlook address. I even got some of the junk mail on gmail. I then shut down my gmail account as I don't like it. Then I noticed that I wasn't getting much email. So I opened my gmail account and there were dozens of email messages there. Here's my problem. I want to close my gmail account but then I'll miss all of the messages that will go there. My question is. How can I stop messages from going to the gmail?
View 6 RepliesMy mail app won't auto sync in Windows 10. I am logged in with my windows ID but my mail I primarily use is from my ISP. So I set it up and all emails came through, it works. Apart from auto sync, I have it set to every 15 mins but it doesn't do it. If I launch the mail app later on it won't automatically pull in my new emails, I have to force a manual refresh all the time. I have changed the sync settings about but nothing makes it work. I googled around and some suggestions were to ensure privacy settings looked correct, which they are. Am I missing something obvious here? The mail app works but only on a manual refresh basis.
View 1 RepliesTrying to rely on using Edge over IE.
Download a file and then I click on the section to 'open folder'.
The Downloads folder opens, but just stays at the bottom, it doesn't pop up.
The file I just downloaded is there somewhere, but it isn't highlighted like it used to be in IE.
Is it in the settings to fix this by any chance?
At least for me anyway mail app now shows live messages on the tile and under options one can turn off conversation mode.
View 6 RepliesAs of late, I no longer have my email program auto-start at boot-up.
Also I have never been able to solve the problem of no left click function on the Task Bar and no right click function on the Start button.
A few months back I set up my windows to turn off at 1am each morning incase i left it on all night. Problem is i now need to have the pc on during this time (plex server). How to remove the auto turn off?
View 1 RepliesI Have 3 computers in my office and i want to connect them to RDP with auto after the turn on.

View 8 RepliesNow Edge is not a browser I intend to use full time but was asked to try Netflix in it to figure out another problem, see my Netflix thread on that one.
Every time I go to open edge I get the blue window to come up and then everything for it closes down. Looking at task manager while this happens I see it jump from open app to background process to then fully closed, nothing listed in task manager.
Once in a while it stays open long enough that I can see the address bar and other of its UI elements start to render before it vanishes.
When I read an article from Start Menu (esp. News App) sometimes I'd like to share it thru email. Win 8 had that option but I don't see it in Win 10.
