"The instruction 0x00007FFFFF66CC60 referenced at 0x000000000000 the memory could not be read - Click okay to terminate" ....
And behind the pop-up, windows is indicating that the DDE Server Window is preventing shutdown. Sits there until the okay to terminate is clicked.
Endless Loading Screen Preventing Login
Mar 10, 2016Both of the last two cumulative updates have resulted in the endless loading circles with the solid color background, right before the login textbox. Before I was restoring to before the update to fix the problem. I also used the show/hide update tool to prevent the update from installing again. But yesterday's cumulative update has the same problem. Any way to fix it without reinstalling windows? If I wait 8 hours or so, I can usually log in, though the screen locking after 15 minutes has the same issue.
I can remote desktop in from an android tablet.I can press ctrl alt del and restart from the endless loading screen.I have tried the dism and sfc commands, neither of which worked.I have also tried turning off fast boot and disabling my video cards.
Security :: Unknown Chinese App Preventing Signing Out
Aug 16, 2015When signing out of windows 10 this week I noticed a message that appeared for a few seconds, telling me that an app was preventing signing out. The title of the app in question was expressed in what appear to be Chinese symbols. See attached photos of the message.I have never before seen an app or program like this(ie one with chinese symbols) and am concerned that it is something malicious such as spyware. I searched for this app on both task manager and on the program list (accessed via control panel), but couldn't find it, which makes me more suspicious - this could mean it is deliberately hidden, or simply that I am looking in the wrong place!For what it is worth, my McAfee subscription is up to date. Have just run a full scan - no issues detected.

Pixelated Lines Of Color Preventing Startup
Sep 10, 2015Alright, I upgraded to Windows 10 Pro shortly after it released. By upgraded, I mean performed a clean install.
More or less, the computer has worked fine for the weeks since. Now, for the past 2 days, I have been unable to use it because at startup the computer's keyboard and mouse turn off, and the screen displays broken lines of pixelated green, pink, and blue. (To be clear, I make it into and/or past the BiOS totally fine)
I don't have many support options due to the fact this PC was put together by me. So, to that end, my specs are:
MSI Z87-G45 mobo
Intel i7-4770k (no overclocking at present)
NVIDIA GTX 760
Samsung EVO 120GB SSD (have reinstalled Windows 10 solely on this, still producing the same errors)
[Random Thermaltake something something] 750W gold-rated PSU
Corsair h100 series liquid cooling
As I said, everything had been working fine. Then I put the computer to sleep, and when I returned the next day, the screen flashed white fuzziness. On restarting from that, the colored lines are all that happens. I am able to boot into safe mode. That is another weird thing, the colored lines (and keyboard/mouse power off) don't happen until after I go through the bios screen, and see the initial Windows 10 loading screen, then they shut off, and the screen turns to the lines within 20 seconds after.
I'm pretty lost. I'm assuming since I can force it into safe mode (at that split second when I have the windows 10 load screen), the problem is lying with hardware. I have confirmed all wiring is correct, dust is clear, and everything looks/sounds as it should. The only thing that was happening before this was that I would get intermittent "Nvidia kernal has stopped working, but has recovered" notifications popping up. As I type this I'm sort of realizing my graphics card must be done.

After a long struggle to import my pix from the camera to Win10 and finally succeeding, I've now another mystery
1. How to put the imported 10 or so photos into a folder? I did it with another bunch of imported photos and now I can't remember how I did it though I tried and tried..
2. How can I pick out the ones I want to send (and how to send them by email?) as I prefer not to delete the ones I won't send, to avoid later regrets. I don't even know how to delete any individual photos....
MS keeps everything a secret - no links to choose photos, or delete them, or send them, or change the order in which they are arranged, etc. I had come to learn photos in Win7 with "Photo Gallery" after a long time - now I'm condemned to the same torture on the new windows!
OneDrive Including ALL Photos On PC In Photos Tab Stream
Jun 29, 2015Even if I mark an album, say, 'my documents' as a "documents" type folder in my onedrive online settings, these photos will still be included in my 'photos' tab stream. that and, any photo ever that's on my PC will show up- not just photos in my "my photos" folder on my PC. it's really annoying, i'm getting gamesave pictures, wallpapers, screenshots, and all kinds of random crap that aren't supposed to be part of my camera roll stream all over my one drive... why is it doing this?

Jul 30, 2015So I upgraded my Surface Pro 3 to Windows 10 last night and so far quite impressed. However it looks like an issue has carried over from Windows 8.1 to 10.
I'm finding that the Photos app cannot see the photos stored on my SD card. I have directed the library to point to the SD card and it is the only location defined in the Library for Photos. This was a problem in 8.1 but as I never used the app I stopped worrying about trying to sort it. However I can see myself using the app in 10, so would like to figure out what is happening.
It's not a case of the app not showing duplicates because I temporarily disabled the option for it to show OneDrive photos and now nothing shows.
PC Keeps Restarting?
Aug 9, 2015After updating to Windows 10 it worked fine for 2 days and now my pc keep restarting itself when I try to do something, usually around 5 minutes after startup. I have turned off the "restart if crash"

Explorer Keeps Restarting Itself
Feb 10, 2016When I open certain folders, Windows Explorer just restarts itself. There is no "explorer has stopped working" message and the screen doesn't fade as if it's hanging.
Sometimes, it just closes the explorer window instantly when opening a folder and reloads the taskbar, but sometimes it opens the folder, shows no files and says "Working on it..." for about 5 seconds and the entire PC freezes before closing the folder and reloading the taskbar (essentially restarting explorer).
I can't access files on a certain folder that I need, and I even tried copying the folder I need to access and pasting it onto my desktop to see if I could work around it that way, but that just causes the same thing to happen and doesn't paste the folder.
It only seems to happen in folders with certain files in them. I program multiplayer game servers and have quite a few different folders containing the files for these different servers and it only seems to happen with these folders. It's like explorer has a problem with showing a particular file type or something.
Open App When Restarting

It says it is Faceaway Countdown dlg.I looked on the app list from the computer and it is not there. I searched google and did not see it.Is this a part of MSFT or google because I use their browser ? Or is it phishing ?

Nov 3, 2015apparently since i upgraded to windows 10, whenever i install app that ask/required for the system to reboot to finish up installation, windows 10 doesn't pop out the "Windows need to restart etc..bla bla, Yes / NO " dialog box. it just auto restart as per the application need i guess.. is there anyway to make window 10 to ask for my permission to restart instead of just restarting on its own.

Jan 29, 2016I think I have some registry conflicts. The battery/audio systray icons are no longer appearing, and the screen keeps flickering which causes applications to hang. Sometimes programs will even switch on their own.
If I use the browsers in full screen I don't have unresponsive issues. Though explorer still restarts periodically.
Updates :: Restarting Do Not Turn Off
Jan 3, 2016Updated successfully up to 11/11. but from 9/12 all updates after " Security update for flash player..... KB 3119147 has failed. Screen shows updating but nothing is downloaded.
As an aside, and I'm not sure about relevance, If i request restart the system hangs. Showing "restarting do not turn off" but with no activity on drive. It will hang for an hour and will not restart without cold boot.

Sep 18, 2015I have a PC to 1½ years and recently I upgraded the VGA and Windows 8.1 for 10.
With the new VGA, I used it in windows 8 per 1 month and with the windows 10 for 1 week with no problem. Until in one weekend he gone crazy and began to restart from scratch, without notice. Simply restarted.
Makes 2 weeks to this problem, it was two bad days, Saturday and Sunday, then went one week without restarting, I thought it was neat. Until it happened again on Monday, and now again on Wednesday.
It happened every time when I was doing simple tasks, incredibly when I played games it does not restart. In the days that it was restarting, it restarts several times in succession, and without any warning or beep. One of the times it seemed that he tried to call several times in succession until it was.
What I did to try to solve:
- I changed the memory slots
- Full format (installed windows 10 again)
- I cleaned the pc
- I put it in one take (with power strip with fuse)
- Reseted the BIOS
- I saw the voltages and did not notice anything wrong (on the bios)
- I took and put the video card
- Monitored temperatures: Video card, motherboard and processor. Everything is OK!

The strange thing is that it shuts down when I'm doing beasts things, using chrome and worse, it is a few days without giving the problem, but when you give it gets the whole day restarting, and sometimes, he does not expect Windows finishes the boot, he ta still carrying (and looks that the ssd loads fast) he has restarts.
I tested it without HD, SSD and VGA and changed the memories in all slots and interspersing them. He restarted on the Bios.
We try to reset the bios again and he was 3h without restarting in those three hours we monitoring the temperature playing heavy games like The Witcher 3, but nothing happening. When he gave 4h the PC restarted again.
Desktop AND Laptop Restarting On Shut Down
Aug 18, 2015Since I've upgraded to windows 10 a couple weeks ago, I've come to notice in the last couple days that when I press shut down from the start menu, typing shutdown -s -t 0, etc. it does not completely shut down the computer. It starts to go through the process, it says it's shutting down, monitors turn off, but the power light stays on and it just restarts. I have only gotten it to shut down correctly about 85% of the time through the login screen and pressing and holding the power button (which I know I should refrain from). I am completely up to date on windows. I have not made any hardware changes since my upgrade to 10.
This issue has also now come up on my Lenovo G50 laptop. Same shtick, says it's shutting down but ends up restarting, never shutting down completely. I also have since reverted to Windows 7 on my desktop and have no issues. I have unchecked the hybrid shutdown box on my laptop.
