Why Have To Restart Lenovo To Get Internet

Sep 21, 2015

Just bought a Lenovo Yoga 3 Pro that came with Windows 10. Everytime I turn my laptop on I have internet for about 3 seconds and then it stops working. I try to disconnect and reconnect and it says that I am connected, however the internet does not work. Once I restart my computer, it automatically has internet and I have no other problems. As I open and shut my laptop multiple times daily this has become time consuming and an annoyance. I'm sure it's not my Wi-Fi because my other computers and devices have no issues. Why is this happening?

Build 10074 - Lenovo Restart As Soon As After Connecting To VPN?

May 20, 2015

I am facing this issue on build 10074 running on Lenovo x220. Everything runs fine, but as soon as I connect to VPN, a dialog box is displayed which says "your system will restart in 1 min" and the machine restarts.

I checked the logs in eventvwr and it seems the issue is with the process lsass.exe and module kerberos.dll.

"A critical system process, C:WINDOWSsystem32lsass.exe, failed with status code 255. The machine must now be restarted."

Internet Browsers / Shockwave Crashing On Lenovo Yoga13?

Sep 14, 2015

I have upgraded my laptop over a month now with windows 10 and never had major issues.

Recently (over a week now) internet browsers keep crashing whenever there is video content. Sites like facebook, youtube etc.. even apps for youtube do not work. I've checked a bit and seems like shockwave is the fault. Tried to check for updates but didn't find anything useful on the net.

No Internet Access Upon Restart

Aug 9, 2015

I have upgraded from Windows 7 to Windows 10. I have not had any issues in Windows 7. Everytime I restart my computer, it will say I will be connected to my WiFi but with a triangle saying no internet access. A solution is to open the device manager, uninstall the driver under "network adapters", unplug and plug the usb wifi adapter. Then enter the password for the network, then it works. I have to do this everytime I restart my pc.

I am using, Realtek RTL8192CU Wireless LAN USB Network Adapter...

Unable To Connect To Internet After Restart

Aug 25, 2015

The internet functionality works fine on his PC after upgrading from Win 8 to Win 10, though there is one problem that we cannot seem to figure out. Whenever the computer is restarted, it somehow cannot connect to the internet. This is especially weird because it will connect after being booted up from a full shutdown.

I should also mention that this is connected via Ethernet cable, not WiFi.

Networking :: System Indicates No Internet Connection On Restart But Actually Connected

Nov 12, 2015

Roughly half the time I restart my PC I am told I am not connected to the internet, the Ethernet icon in the notification area shows a yellow triangle. but the thing is I am connected just fine and can access everything I normally do. Even microsoft.com. So this shouldn't be a problem if I can access all my stuff right? See things like Office and Skype use whatever detection method that is failing to determine if things can be sync'ed. The only answer I have is to reboot until the little yellow triangle goes away. There has to be a better way.

I upgraded to Windows 10 everything seems to run fine but system will not restart from the restart selection on the start menu. Windows update will not reboot automatically either. System looks like it is going to reboot, everything shuts down but as system trys to restart everything freezes. Only way around it is to do a hard shutdown by holding the power button. Updated graphics card, hard drive and bios but still no luck.

Stuck - Install Requires Restart But Doesn't Progress After Restart

Jan 15, 2016

I am upgrading a computer from Windows 7 to Windows 10. I completed the download, and got a message that the computer needed to restart to continue the installation. However, when I restart and the computer comes back up, the same message appears and the installation does not progress. When I go to check Windows updates in the control panel, it says it can't check for updates because another installation is in progress. I have restarted the machine multiple times with no progress - can't go forward, can't go back.

Networking :: Network Settings Says No Internet Connection But Can Browse Internet

Oct 14, 2015

But I'm currently browsing the internet and typing to you.

In fact - I can do virtually everything (League; Steam; Skype; etc) except use any OS feature that requires logging in -
e.g. Mail, User Accounts, Shop, etc. Then it says something along the lines of "Cannot use this service without an internet connection - please connect and try again." When I run Network Diagnostics as the prompt recommends - it says I am connected and cannot find a problem.

It doesn't always happen - but it seems to be determined on start-up. If I restart it now it might be working next launch - but 75% of the time it will encounter the same issue. It's been happening for months now but I've sort of gotten used to using my phone to check my emails - but I've now encountered an issue with one of my hard drives being unable to be searched (tried indexing, etc) and the only step I've found that I haven't tried says it could be a corrupted user account - but I cannot update my user account without "connecting to the internet". -_-

The system is up to date. No driver updates available.

Drivers :: No Internet Connection - How To Get Back The Internet To Work Again

Mar 4, 2016

Working on desktop Lenova computer. I was updating the computer drivers when one of the drivers froze, I click on cancel. I tried the internet and it stated No Internet Connection. I went into Device manager and did the unthinkable. I deleted everything inside the Network Adapters, including the words Network Adapters. In other words, no Network Adapters are showing in Device Manager.

First, I would like to know how can I replace the words Network Adapters in the Device Manager menu, and download the two adapters that were there in the beginning. Lastly, how to get back the Internet to work again.

So far I've tried relogging into my windows account, disabling all security software, changing the boot mode, restarting windows update. All things I've found by searching for this issue. None of it has worked.

Lenovo Y470 Won't Detect WiFi Network

Nov 22, 2015

I have a Lenovo Y470 that I upgraded to Win10 about a month ago. All worked fine until today when the WiFi randomly disconnected. Now I can't even detect my network (yes it is broadcasting the SSID). I can see my neighbors networks.

My other devices can detect and connect to my network fine. I've tried rebooting router, renaming ssid, reinstalling network adapter, deleting the ssid from registry..

Can't Get External Monitor To Work With Lenovo Helix

Sep 7, 2015

I have a 2013 Lenovo Helix running Windows 10 that I'm using for college. I'm trying to connect it via mini-displayport adapter to hdmi to dvi to my Acer G276HL monitor. I've tried updating the drivers for my Helix, which didn't work. Next I tried installing the driver from Acer's website using the manual method in device manager. When I installed Acer's drivers, I was able to see that the computer recognized the monitor as a G276HL, but it was still just a blank black screen on the monitor.

I then found this article that seems to be what I need, but I can't figure out how to install a .inf file in compatibility mode. When I download and unzip the driver for the monitor from Acer, there are just 2 files, one is a .icm file and the other is a .inf file. Neither of these seem to be able to install in compatibility mode, as least as far as I can tell.

Installation :: How To Set Boot Priority Sequence Permanently On Lenovo G 50-70

Sep 13, 2015

My laptop is running on Window10 efficiently. Sometimes in order to check the DVDs and USBs bootability of newly created OS or Recovery Disk etc I have to select the relative option in the the bios. But on Lenovo G 50 70 the selected option is not permanent. You have to select boot priority option repeatedly for each and every USB/DVD that I want to check. Can i set these option permanently like:-

1st priority USB

2nd priority DVD

3rd priority HDD

4th priority Network IPV4

5th priority Network IPV6

There is a novo key to access the bios in Lenovo Laptop G 50 70.

Lenovo ThinkPad T520 / No Operating System Found

Sep 21, 2015

so a while back when the Windows 10 Upgrade had popped up on my computer, I upgraded with no problem at all. I wanted to do a factory restore in order to clean up my laptop completely, however while updating, the power went out and the computer shut off. Logging back on, I couldn't access Windows at all. I couldn't even get to the login screen. The message that had popped up had said that no operating system was found and to press Ctrl+Alt+Del to restart. I have a Lenovo ThinkPad T520.

Networking :: WiFi Intermittent On Lenovo T420 After Upgrade

Oct 24, 2015

After the upgrade I performed a "Reset this PC" with "Keep my files". Periodically the WiFi will die. No networks will appear in the list in the pane which appears when one clicks the icon at the bottom right. The fastest way to fix it is to click the left-most button twice, which seems to disable/re-enable and automatically reconnect to the network. I have checked the router. The problem is not manifesting on another Lenovo laptop upgraded the same way. I am using the latest available network driver. So far I haven't performed a clean install due to the time it will take.

Drivers/Hardware :: Disable The Touchpad In Lenovo Laptop?

Sep 3, 2015

In June a friend bought a Lenovo Z50-70 laptop running Win 8.1. He particularly dislikes touchpads so uses a mouse. In 8.1 I was able to disable the touchpad for him, via Device Manager. He's now updated to Win 10 and the touchpad has come back to life. I've been trying to disable it again, so far without success.

In "Settings", the only option under touchpad is to alter the delay on using "click". I went to Control Panel.

In "Device Manager > Mice and other pointing devices" there are only two options, "HID-compliant mouse" (which has a disable option) and "Lenovo Pointing Device", which I assume refers to the touch pad (is this assumption right?) and which can be uninstalled but has no "disable" option.

In "Device Manager > Human Interface Devices" amongst other things there are two entries both named "HID-compliant vendor-defined device". Both can potentially be disabled, but without further knowledge I'm disinclined to disable them in case I inadvertently disable the mouse in the process.

Windows Hotkeys Not Working On Lenovo G580 Notebook

Feb 10, 2016

I have a Lenovo G580 Notebook with Windows 10 installed. The issue is that the Windows hotkeys, that is Windows key and other letter combinations, aren't working. For example, normally, if I press Windows key + I, then the Settings app should open up or if I press Windows key + R, then Run should open up. But the Start screen opens up instead in all such cases.

This is happening since I have updated the Synaptics touchpad driver via Windows Update. If I uninstall the driver, then the hotkeys start working again. But as soon as I install the driver, they stop working. This was not happening with Windows 10 before, even when the Synaptics driver was installed. It has suddenly started happening couple of months ago. Also I cannot completely uninstall the Synaptics driver because my laptop came with it itself nor can I stop the driver from updating as it is an important driver and it needs to be updated to be compatible with Windows 10.
