I have one ASP page that has two separate FORMS, each that will update a separate SQL table. These tables are in the same DB with the same connection string for both.
The SQL statement seems to be writing correctly (when I test them) but neither of the tables updates when I try to update both of them. IF I try to update just ONE of the tables it does work correctly. Code:
I need to execute different asp programs based on different values of a parameter. For example, if the user inputs ID of 1, program1 needs to be executed automatically, if user inputs ID=2, program2 needs to be executed in the background automatically. How do we do this in asp?
I need to copy tables from 1 database to another database. My problem is that the database which I'm going to copy data to, is created instantly then tables are copied to it. I'm not sure whether this can be done.
I wish to copy the contents of a table in one Access database to an identically-structured table in another Access database. Can anyone advise me of a simple way to do this in ASP (VBScript + ADO) ?
I am trying to use the FileSystemObject to create a copy of a directory (including all sub-folders and files within this directory) but i just cant get me head around it.
Can anyone point me to a tutorial or some sourcecode that i can play with?
I have a need to have a web server (windows based) grab files each week from a linux based server - hosted elsewhere. I cannot use UNC paths.
I want to have a script (.asp/asp.net) on the windows server that I would provide a list of files to copy. The script would then copy the listed files.
The problem is that the using a filestream and copyto runs into an error with URI paths.
This will be a substantial amount of data each week. I don't want to copy it locally and then back up to the windows web server. I want/need the copy to be directly between the two servers.
I have created an VB-ActiveX-Componente that copy files on network. This works on one my development computer when I install application on other IIS servers (files to copy on same server with same rights) I get error message "Invalid filename or number". So what can cause this problems?
I have some files located in a file server and managed by a SQL database from a web based interface using ASP + VBSCRIPT technology. I need to automatically copy those files to a web folder.
I have set up a new server and now I try to move all the web ASP files, scripts to my new server. I do copy and paste all the files to my webroot directory. None of the page works, the browser simplely redirect me to the search engine page. I have about total 50 ASP scripts and files. None of them shows after I entered the address in the browser. No bug and no syntex errors.
If I created a very simple ASP page like "Hello world", it works fine. Then even the Hello world page stopped working after I copy and paste any parts of the code from my backup CD. I also heard someone mentioned about domain name hard coded program, could it possible in my case?
what I need is is when a visitor comes to the site, I need it to check the host name. if "www.hometowndigest.com" is the host, then check a folder named "something" and if the folder does not exsist, create folder "www" and then copy folder "temp" and its contents.
If the folder "www" is there, look in it, check to see if the files in folder "temp" are in there, if not, copy the files that are not from folder "temp" into folder "www". Code:
I want to create an ASP page, which can copy the real PDF files into the clipboard and then the user can paste it in Outlook message as attachments(it's like inserting attachments)
My idea is: When user checked the checkboxes for the requested PDF files from ASP page and press the "Add To Clipboard" button, all requested PDF files will be copied into clipboard. Then, the user open MS outlook message and right click -> Paste all PDF files as attachments.
But, my code is just can copy the filepaths into clipboard not the REAL PDF FILES. How can I copy the REAL PDF FILES? Code:
Is there anyway to get the names of the tables in an .mdb using asp? Our DB lives on the server(duh), but I do my thing on a diffrent PC that doesn't have access. I hate running back and forth to see the names of the tables and all that, and would like to make a dummy page that lists the tables and the fields in those tables.
I have a site that is working well after first build. All the tables in the Access database are standalone, if you like, but I wanted to try and incorporate lookup columns within the database to try and reduce possible input mistakes. The only problem now is one of these columns is is used as a URL parameter on the site and It's not bringing in the relevant info that corresponds to that entry, if that makes any sense whatsoever.
If I change it back to not having looup columns it works fine, but I want to crack this as it will mean less trouble in the future I suspect. The column in question refers to a list of counties so I want the user to pick that entry from a list, which of course refers to another table.
I have a two tables in my database with a username column in both of them, i am trying to build an SQL query to return only the usernames that are not listed in both of the tables. Any ideas?
i want to add columns dynamically from asp......say for eg. i have a drop down and from that if a user selects 10 as the value it creates 10 textboxes and then when saved it should generate that much columns in access table for saving............hope u guyz got what i am saying... i want to create fields dynamically in access database.
I have a login feature but i want to be able to let users from different tables to log in. The data base is Access and the code is from DreamWeaver MX.
The computer recognises that there are two tables. However i get the message:
Microsoft JET Database Engine error '80004005'
The specified field 'userID' could refer to more than one table listed in the FROM clause of your SQL statement.
how do you search all the tables in an access db with different field names? i would like to place a textfield and a dropdown of the different tables of the db. i cant figure it out. im using asp and dreamweaver.
Select data from 2 tables at the same time but there is no relationship between them. This is what i want but i dont know how to join them. Here is what i was trying.Code:
sqlstr = "SELECT * FROM persinfo,positions WHERE personid.personid = '"& session("personid") &"'" rs.Open sqlstr,conn,0,2
sqlstr1 = "SELECT * FROM positions WHERE jobidid = '"& session("jobid") &"'" rs.Open sqlstr1,conn,0,2
if its possible to create a database from an asp script? My task is to make user surveys where a user selects elements such as text boxes, drop down menues etc from a form, I then have to to make the corresponding table in Microsoft Access.
I have an query that gets value from two tables lets say tb1 and tb2. First i m tryin to insert values into tb1 and based on those values i have to update some already existing values in tb2. it gives me following error:
Provider for ODBC Drivers error '80004005' Cannot update. Database or object is read-only
i know my cursur types are correct as i can update without any error with a single table. This leads me to wonder if updating multiple tables in access is possible?
I was just wondering if there is anyway to link tables from another Access database using ASP. Just like the function in Access where we can go File->Get External Data->Link Tables.
I have implemented some e-modules and they all have individual database as a backend. But, my boss would like to allow all these e-modules to share data. Therefore I am thinking of linking all the tables in those databases through a 'gateway' database (gateway.mdb). This 'gateway' database would have link tables from all other databases.
I have 3 tables (MS Access) and I would like to display the content of all three tables alphabetically on a .asp page I have no problem displaying a list from each of the individual tables, but I am stumped when I try to display a combined listing..
I have two tables Property & Landlord. I have a form and when it is filled in and submitted the information should be sent to the two tables, but i cant seem to get my head around this problem.
does anyone know of a free utility that allows you to alter/create tables through the web for access 2000. I'm talking about the table/db structure, not creating records.
Is it actually possible for a local access 2000 database to link to a remote database online via linked tables. I just wanted to know how feasible a LINKED TABLE scenario would be.
If this was possible it would solve so many administration problems and save development time when it comes to building asp-admin pages to manage the backend.
