I'm making a multiple-choice questionnaire for a site which will have multiple sections/pages. All content for the questionnaire will be databased, as the user will be asked a random selection of these, and responses given will also be databased.
Although building the questionnaire itself should not be an issue, I have been asked to limit the time that the end-user has to complete it in its entirety to 30mins. Can anyone help me solve this issue so that assuming the questionnaire has not yet been completed, 30mins after the user has been shown the first question, the current page is submitted and the user is sent to the results page.
I have a clickable graph that resides on page 1. If user clicks a data point on the graph, the page runs again yeilding a 2nd graph that shows a more detailed graph.
Problem is, I have a recordset table on the 2nd graph page and because the user gets to it by clicking the graph, the page doesn't properly post to render the recordset table. I can click "Refresh" on 2nd page and table displays fine.
Is there an ASP refresh command that I could possibly run to mimick a "Refresh" or F5?
Want to create a web page that asks users certain questions and then when clicking the submit button the info get sent via email.
Obviously will create a form and then will have text boxes for each question. Correct me if I am wrong but the aspmail object is limited to a few fields.
I'm trying to write a script, that will give me stats from a Questionnaire in a database.
The database has the entries of 'Customer', 'Question_Ref', & 'Question_Answer'
what I want to do, is to find the average answer (the answer is always a number 1 to 5) for each question listed and print that & the Question_Ref to it, on to the page.
The issue is, there isn't a way of knowing how many questions there is, so for instance, there could be 'communication', 'Support' & 'Speed' but these will all be entered into the 'Question_Ref' field.
this is all going to be collected to be entered into a graph, is there a way of sorting this in ASP? i'm not using .NET though our server is capable of doing so, its not the fastest server in the world, so would like to keep it ASP if possible.
i can easily add the answers together, and devide it by how many time it sees the sam word in Question_Ref, but its putting how many times that question has been entered into the database, and displaying it as a number that i'm having trouble with.
I want to build an online questionnaire, and i dont know where to begin. whats the best way to go about this? sessions?process:user fills up questions/survey user can go back to previous pages to recheck answers then when user is done, when he clicks on submit, the answers are emailed to me.do i need a db for this?
I have a questionnaire that I want a user to fill out. If you click on the link, you should be able to see the workflow. I was wondering what the best way of doing this was? To have seperate pages? One page?
I don't know anything about ASP language but a friend of mine gave me permission to use his questionnaire for my site. He paid someone a lot of money to do his whole site and he let me take it for free from him but he said he doesn't know how it works, he knows that whenever someone submits his questionnaire online he receives it in a form of an HTML Email showing him everything they filled out or left blank......
I get somthing like "Max Connection limit is reached" error msg when trying to access a page. I wonder it is got to do with winxp pro sp2 patch which only limit 10 tcp connections? Running ms access as database and IIS 5.1.
We have a Windows 2003 Web Edition running IIS 6.0. For some reasons, using ADODB.Stream I can only download a maximum of 19994 KB of file. ADODB.Stream will fails on 19995KB size. No matter how high I set the ASPBufferingLimit, I am still being limited to 19994 KB.
I've got a string thats about to be entered into a bog standard Access 2000-type MDB . Thing is, I want to maintain the purity of my code when it gets outputted (yes, I'm a web-standards freak, so what? ) Anyway, I want it to insert a CRLF and 4 tabs every 12 whole words (or 75 letters if you can't split a string by words) . how I can do this with VB's limited number of built-in functions (... face it, PHP's function list kinda dwarf's VBs) -1337_d00d .

I am trying to setup a form in Dreamweaver where I have a list box (Car Batteries, Antifreeze, Paint, etc.)
How do I setup the page up so that when an item is selected and they hit the submit button it will send them to another page returns just the information from that item on the database and not the entire database?
Just wondering. I am developing a blog. I would like to display the message post on the blog to be limited to, say, 100 words rather than the whole message itself as this will increase the page length.
I would like to know if there is a method to count the words from the record in database and display only 100 hundred words from the actual message..
I would like to display the difference between the logging time [Session("start"] and the current time [now]. In hours minutes and seconds, I have tried a couple of things but all I see is gobbledy gook.
I have a website that I subscribe to that allows me to track tasks. I have an extra computer with a big monitor that i want to always display the task list. the problem is after so many hours I get logged out.
I need to need to reload that sign in url every few hours Code:

Currently working on a ASP for a friend, which requires the date and time on it. It pulls in entries from an Access Database with dates and times in the format of:
"Fri Oct 17 18:02:46 2003" However my date and time on the ASP page is displayed as: "Friday, October 17, 2003 18:02:46" using the script: "<%Session.LCID = 1033%> <%=FormatDateTime(Date(), vbLongDate)%> <%Session.LCID = 2057%> <%=time()%>"
Anyone know how to change this script, fully or partly to produce the date and time on the format that's in the access database i.e. "Fri Oct 17 18:02:46 2003" Code:
I am working on a database that collects information about incidents. One of the fields that people enter is the time of the incident. I am trying to convert that string that people enter into a OdbcType.Time and I am at a lost.
When the Form is submitted I use the Date() and Time() functions to put the date and time into the Body part of the e-mail. The time reported is three hours earlier than the time at which the Form is actually submitted.
I understand these functions are evaluated on the server so the server must be in a time zone three hours earlier than where I am . Is there any way I can get the local time at the location where the user is actually located. ?
I am trying to compare the NOW time with a "deadline" time. Please help. Just not sure why this is not working. I need to be able to say IF IT'S BEFORE 9:30 TODAY, IT'S OKAY TO ADD SOMETHING. IF IT'S AFTER 9:30 TODAY, YOU MUST ADD IT TOMORROW.
CODE:
nowtime=now() deadlinetime=formatdatetime(now(),2) + " 8:30:00 AM" response.write "NOW: " & nowtime & "<BR>" response.write "Deadline: " & deadlinetime & "<BR>" if nowtime<deadlinetime then response.write "can send out today" end if if nowtime>deadlinetime then response.write "must send out tomorrow" end if
RESULTS: NOW: 1/18/2007 8:51:43 AM Deadline: 1/18/2007 8:30:00 AM can send out today
As you can see, NOW is GREATER THAN Deadline, so it should must send out tomorrow.
i want to calculate the total time between to dates and time.
Example: Total time elapsed from date 1 time 1 to date 2 time 2.
27/09/2004 11:00 - 28/09/2004 10:30
The user enters a record and then later comes back and closes it. I need to know the time it took from when they entered the record until the time it was closed.
I am writing an XML file with lots of Data and it takes time but before the operation can be finished I get this error
Quote:
The maximum amount of time for a script to execute was exceeded. You can change this limit by specifying a new value for the property Server.ScriptTimeout or by changing the value in the IIS administration tools.
Would anyone know if there is an easy and clean way of presenting maybe a time control field in html in an .asp page that allows a user to specify a certain time of the day? Currently using an <input name="SpecifyTime" type="Text"field but was wondering if there was a better way of doing this as to where users won't mistype in entering non time related characters?
Would it be a stupid idea to use the Log Util component to retrieve the UTC date/time? It appears that the DateTime property could be used for this, but I'm not really sure how it searches through the log file.
