I am using command line utility of wzzip.exe in asp and vb script. When I try to use wzzip in asp, it sometimes works fine and sometime hangs. It doesn't give any error.
The server that the process is running on, if I logoff from that server, wzzip.exe hangs, however when I just "disconnect" from the server, it runs fine. This happens when I try to use wzzip.exe from my user interface. The code to invoke the shell is in a dll which resides in MTS. I am using the following wzzip command in asp.

When I run it manually command line, there are no problems.
I have a similar job which I have in vbscript, that job runs without any
issues.

from technet onto my IIS 4.0 server. The first 2-3 times
I tested all went well. Subsequent tests, with no server
changes, gave/gives me the "File Download" dialogue box
when the sendMail.asp file should be executing. Why does
sendMail.asp give a "File Download" box instead of just

I have coded a file upload process in ASP and the current way I allow files to be downloaded, which have been uploaded is by using the <a href> tag. This works but it normally opens the files for the user in a new browser window. What I would like to do is present the user with a download link which opens the Windows File Download dialog box.
I thought there might be an easy way to do this kind of like HTML provides for uploading a file… which is the input type=file (presents the user with the browse button). Is there an easy way to present the user with a Windows File Download dialog box?

I am trying to use asp to download a file located on a different server. I can use ADODB.Stream, LoadFromFile(ServerSomething) and the Response.BinaryWrite successfully, but only if I create an IUSR_XXXX account on the other machine.
What other alternatives do I have, or is this the best method? Could I use a com object that ran as a valid user on the other server to copy the file back to the IIS server?
I am getting one error while downloading a file (DBF file) through aps page. the error is: "Can not access file because the file is being used by another process". First My asp page creates a DBF file programmatically using OLEDB provider and saves that file at a particular location. In the same asp page I have given link to download the file on client machine.
above operation will be performed based on the flag set in my code. if flag is 'Save' it will create the DBF if flag is 'Download' it will download the DBF. I am using ASPSmartUpload component to download the file. and i am calling DownloadFile method of this component. But it is giving me error as mentioned above. I have closed the recordset and connection object and set it to Nothing. but still it is giving this error. This works fine for the first time and after that it gives this error.
please tell me what could be the reason for this and how i can handle this programmatically. is there a way to find out whether the file is in use or not and if yes then how to stop that process?
the page is to be able to allow a user to enter a password so as to download documents. It does not meant for any users to download. It is for some specific users. What I want is to send them a password through email, but I want to know who's has downloaded.
