I have a .asp form page that submits to another .asp page that uses cdonts to send me an email and does a response.redirect back to the form page. I need to preserve (keep) a couple of text box values and a couple of dropdown box values.
At this point I have global.asa variables for the fields in question and they are all set to null. I can't figure out how to put the contents back in the fields, when it returns from the cdonts page. I assume that I must save all the field values in the session variables just prior to the submit to the cdonts page.
show me how to accomplich this for one text field called name and one dropdown box called PUDeliv?
I have a little code to add multiple items to a shopping cart based page. This code works perfect, but it adds all of the info to the same input fields every time it loops. I need it to change the input names each time it loops. Here is the code:
I have entries in the database that have spaces (Todd's Place) but when I try to get the info into an input box it only shows the first part of the string before the space (Todd's) Here is my code strSQL = "SELECT ID, memname FROM tblMembers WHERE ID =" & numID Set rsEdit = adoCon.Execute (strSQL)
The funny thing is I can see the whole string when I view the source on the page (<input type=text value=Todd's Place>) but why can't I see it in the form.
How can I specify formatting restrictions for special fields like Postal Code (format X1X 2C2) or date input field MM/DD/YYYY? I have Acces DB with these specs, but when I used FP2002 Database Interface Wizard, it ignores these. Also I am unable to "edit" any of the records utilizing pages generated by this wizard.
There is an error that it will not accept empty fields. I have no problem adding data (even if some fields are empty) or deleting records.
I'm trying to build an array with the ID's of the users I have in a Mysql table called tbl_user. Here is what I coded :
dim listeId(1) i = 0 Set rs=Conn.Execute("SELECT ID from tbl_user ORDER BY Id;") Do While Not rs.EOF if i = 0 then listeId(i)= rs("ID") else REDIM PRESERVE listeId(i+1) listeId(i)= rs("ID") end if i = i + 1 rs.MoveNext Loop rs.close
But I get this error: (0x800A000A) which is something like "fixed or temporary locked array"
How can I read back info from a database into an input field (in case it's to be edited) that will preserve the zeros to the right of the decimal? The zeros are being preserved in the access database when I have a look at it there. I have the field defined as type "Currency" to two decimal places.
I want to preserve those zeros to the right of the decimal point when I read the record into an input tag on a web page.I am trying to use "FormatCurrency(request.form(exp, 2))" and "FormatNumber(request.form(exp, 2))" but it doesn't help.
Is it correct to think that after reducing the populated array's size from say, 10 to 5 with redim preserve myArray(i) an attempt to access an element above the fifth does not cause a compillation error "array out of script", but returns whatever heppened to be written in that memory address (in particular it might return the correct values of those elements before re-dimentioning)?This seems to be the case in my code, yet I wanted to make sure that this isnot the result of some other side effect.
I am implementing a site where an admin user can log purchases of items into a DB. Obviouslt, one purchase can consist of many items. I am therefore trying to implement a 'Cart' idea wherby the user adds the items to be purchased to the cart and then completes the purchase once all items have been added to the cart.
i aM IMPLEMENTING THE CART FUNCTIONALITY VIA AN asp ARRAY. nOW I CAN Do THIS NO PROBLEM, APART FROM THE FACT THAT, i declare an array of size 10, with 5 attributes to each element. i.e.
Dim purchaseCart(10,4)
The problem is, i want to be able to ensure that if the user decides to purchase more then 10 items, that the array can be ReDimensioned to suit i.e. increase size by one every time another element is added, after it has reached its maximum size!! Code:
I've got the following code which should write the contents of a textarea to a '.txt' file:
Code:
set objFileSystem = server.createobject("Scripting.FileSystemObject") set objFilePlainText = objFileSystem.CreateTextFile(server.mappath("templates/my-text-file.txt"),true)
objFilePlainText.write(strTemplatePlainText)
If I response.write this data before inserting to the txt file, it preserves the line breaks, but when it writes to the txt file it seems to lose all of the line breaks. Does anyone know how to get this to preserve the formatting of the text being inserted?
I have being working with making an edit field over the past few days. The edit function is now working fine. The edit fields that i have are for id, subject, notes, timedate.
All of the edit screens are one line text screens. What I want to do now is increase the size of the notes box to a larger textarea type box to make it easier to edit notes. The notes field in the db is a textarea field. Code:
I first create an array, store it into a session var then, in other page, I load restore the session var into a local array but, after this, I can't REDIM Preserve.
I have an input box that sends data over to the next page. This input box was in a loop, there creating data looking like this: 2, 0, 0, 3, 0, 4, 0, 22, 0, 0, 0
How do i break the data up in such a way that i can populate it into my db while running through a recordset?
i create a dynamic table to modify user/account for administrative management. I have modify & delete function to be performed.

I am looking for something similar to "preg_match" and "preg_match_all" in PHP.
I have searched the forum with no luck. I hope you are able to give me some pointers
Basically I want to match some text from a form and loaded it into new variables making use of regular expressions. the text comes form a textarea input type. Code:
I have a bummer here. I have 3 sub R. that I need to call from a input button. I set up the following line, but the script just calls them with out having the button pressed. OOOO! Any ideas?
Is there any way to clean the user input before saving to the database.I tried to use..
Function StripNonNum(strInput) Dim regEx Set regEx = New RegExp regEx.Pattern ="^[w-.]{1,}@([da-zA-Z-]{1,}.){1,}[da-zA-Z-]{2,3}$" regEx.IgnoreCase = True regEx.Global = True StripNonNum = regEx.Replace(strInput, "") End Function
But It doesn't work when user cut&paste the information to screen. For eg.Cut&Paste from a CV which contains Bullet points is there any way to remove these bullet Points before data saving..
Code: <input type="radio" name="dewey_loc" value="dewey" onClick="toggledewey()" checked>Dewey Can't seem to work out how to call an ASP/VBSCRIPT function from within html, is this able to be done? Can call JS without issue, but need to change a Session variable when this radio button is clicked.
I have found that places double quotes ' "text" ' around text inside (INPUT) tags results in everything after the initial quote, '"' gets truncated. I'm passing the form information to another form to allow the user to look over and validate what they're submitting, then they will click the submit button to send it all along. I'm finding that in the validation form, the quoted text inside the (INPUT) tag gets truncated. However, the quoted text inside a TEXTAREA tag does not.
I'm using the following code and if someone enters something in the "instructions" field with characters -"', - it causes the SQL statement to change using those characters.
i have a software application and i have to import around 250 users data into the app. I want to automate this step,it the most common info like FN,LN,e-mail etc. The app runs on IIS and uses ASP. I am looking for a GUI input Automation tool which will have scripting capability to take input from a text file and fill the user input fields "automagically".can testing tools like winrunner do this for me?
I am in the process of writing a website which has an access database and uses asp to access it. Part of the site is a search facility. I have heard that it is possible for hackers to gain access to the database by entering SQL in to the search box. First of all is this possible? Secondly if it is possible, what sort of syntax should i be checking for on the text entered in to the search field
I have an ASP page that has a Form & Inputs that are related to an XML file. I would like to prepopulate the value of the Input with the corresponding field from the XML file.
i let the user go and submit his phone number in a particular page. on the other side on access i adjusted my input mask of that particular field to the following set (999) 000-0000;0;- or (&&&) &&&-&&&&;&;- or (@@@) @@@-@@@@;@;-
when i open the database i see the phone numbers are stored in the fine format which i wanted, however when i try to retrieve the data using the browser, i just gets me the phone number like 29384838283 without any brackets or spaces.
How can I create a query based on the form input. I want to have a pulldown menu (list of states). The user can select the state, lets say VA and click on "go" button. I want the page to return results that has state=VA. So how do I create that statement and send to aspx ?
Is there a way to put this button in a disabled state, where it can't be clicked? I've tried adding an "enabled" property, but that doesn't work. I've even tried "visibility" property, but the input box doesn't seem to support that either.
