code a 10 * 10 matrix, with random numbers from 1 to 100,
i) Find the most repeated number.
ii) Use the Binary Sort, to sort the matrix in ascending order.
iii) Find the Column, with the highest average number.
import java.util.*; import java.text.*; public class Quiz { public static void main(String[] args){ Scanner s= new Scanner(System.in); int quests = 0; String input ="";
I made a method which takes values from a data set and finds out which one is the highest value. When it finds the highest value, it returns the country which is associated with the value. Here's the data set.
"Country""Total CO2 2005 (million tonnes)""Road CO2 (million tonnes)""Road CO2 per person (tonnes)""Cars per 1000 people" 10 USA5951.131530.35.16777 UK2573.4119.681.99470 Italy476.08116.862592 Germany841.78150.211.82550 Canada553.02123.423.82562 France414.03128.132.04477 Russia1575.44114.690.8178 Japan1254.47224.241.76447 China5100.6228.020.317 India1147.4691.060.18
So if the number was 5951.13 then the program would return USA. How do I do that? I've already started on trying to get this code to work but it doesn't seem to compiler so what's wrong with it?
public static CO2Data highest (CO2Data [] arr2){ Scanner sc = new Scanner(System.in); CO2Data highestindex = arr2[0]; CO2Data currentcountry = arr2[0].getCountry(sc.nextLine());
[Code] ....
Also the array is a CO2Data array which is part of the following class:
public class CO2Data { //The CO2Data class will be called in other methods
private String country; //A private variable will prevent other users from accessing and changing these variables.
private double totalCO2; private double roadCO2; private double CO2PerPerson; private int carsPerPerson; public CO2Data() { country = "";//this sets the initial values for the different variables
So in this program, which is a grading program, I am trying to compare all the students averages to find who has the highest one and list the grades and the student's names from least to greatest. Yes, I see there are other problems in the program but it is nowhere near finished.
import java.util.Scanner; public class Main { public static void main(String[] args) { String[] studentName = new String[20]; int[] studentAverage = new int[20]; Scanner input = new Scanner(System.in);
In a text file, I have individual titles (starting with ">" character), and under those titles, I have calculated values for a Counter. I want to search the entire text file for the highest counter under every title. After I get the highest counter, I would like to print it's title, name of the counter, and counter value. Example of the code I already have:
int letterCounter; String line; if (line.startsWith (">")) { bw.write (""); bw.write (line); } else { //code that counts how many total letters (letterCounter) under title }
i want to write a program have a array 2d like that :
int array [][] = new int [3][3]
after that the user input value by using scanner then give summation of each column in matrix , i wrote this one
Java Code:
class MatrixSum{ public static void main(String[] args) { int matrix1[][]= {{7,8,9},{1,5,2}}; int matrix2[][]= {{1,6,4},{2,7,3}}; System.out.println("Number of Row= " + matrix1.length); System.out.println("Number of Column= " + matrix1[1].length); int l = matrix1.length; System.out.println("Matrix 1 : "); for(int i = 0; i < l; i++) {
[code]...
but i want to change that the user input the value by using scanner.
Write a program in JAVA in response to the following prompt:
Design a GUI program to find the weighted average of four test scores. The four test scores and their respective weights are given in the following format:
testscore1 weight1 ...
For example, the sample data is as follows:
75 0.20 95 0.35 85 0.15 65 0.30
The user is supposed to enter the data and press a Calculate button. The program must display the weighted average.
Here is what I have written:
import javax.swing.*; import java.awt.*; import java.awt.event.*; public class weightedaverage2 extends JFrame { private JLabel Score1L,Score2L,Score3L,Score4L;
import java.io.IOException; public class Largestcolumn { public static void main ( String[] args ) throws IOException { int largest = 0; int newnumber = 0; int[][] data = { {3, 2, 5},
[Code] ....
When I run this code, I get this following output: The largest element in column 0 is: 9. Exception in thread "main" java.lang.ArrayIndexOutOfBoundsException: 4 at largestcolumn.Largestcolumn.main(Largestcolumn.java:27) Java Result: 1
It outputs the first column's maximum element but then throws an out of bounds error. I'm new to Java and I can't figure out how to fix my code so that it will work for this multidimensional array and output the maximum elements in all of the columns.
i have to write a method, The method receives a parameter of two-dimensional array of integers. The method returns the number of the column which has the lowest sum of the integers.I'm allowed to use only recursion! no loops allowed!-of course i need to make a private method that will sum a column as a single array and then i have to do another private method that compares the column , but it doesn't really work .
Find the numbers which is closest to the average sum for a given array of N (1<=N<=50) of natural numbers. If there are two numbers who meet the requirement, return the smaller of the two.
For example for the array of: 1,2,3,4,5,6 the average sum is 3.5, so both 3 and 4 are the closest to that, but the program has to return 3, because it's smaller than 4.
The array can also contain duplicates. First we type the number of elements in the array, then in each line we add the numbers. Name of the class: Array
**Note**: Create a data structure array and use it.
And this is what they have given to me, I just need to type the code:
import java.io.BufferedReader; import java.io.IOException; import java.io.InputStreamReader; public class Array<E> { public static int closestNumber( ) {
You are to write a parallel program that will receive a large array of unsorted integers containing digits from 0 to 99. The program will have to calculate the SUM and AVERAGE of ODD number digits between 25 and 75 (inclusive).
The user may specify the size or the array and the total processor that the machine has. The size of the array must be divisible by number of processor. Based on the given size, the computer will generate random integer numbers automatically to populate the array.
The program should display the status of the calculation for each processor. The result should be displayed after all calculations are completed.Error messages should be displayed appropriately
a) Write a sequential (non-parallel) program that will accomplish above task. b) Write a concurrent (parallel) program that will produce the result of the above task.
I am writing a program using a given test drive... I am supposed to write two classes according to the test drive. The calculated correct answer should be 115.50 but i keep getting 115.52 instead and i just can't figure out what i'm doing wrong.
Here is the test drive code:
import java.text.NumberFormat; public class FinalTester { public static void main(String[] args) { double avgPurchase; Order[] lastYear = new Order[4];
My objective is to execute quick sort ( i was told to convert the pseudocode from the Cormen book) using arrays of increasing sizes and find the average number of comparisons for each of those sizes over 100 iterations. This is a school project and the numbers I am getting are far larger than those of my friends, so I am clearly doing something wrong. I believe it must be in the way that I am collecting and averaging my number of comparisons. I will first give the method in which most of that calculating is done, then I will include the whole program.
public static void tests(int arraySize) { long numComparisons = 0; long averageComparisons = 0; long[] numComparisonsArray = new long[100]; for(int i = 0; i<100; i++) { int[] array= genRandomArray(arraySize);

Program is 10x10 board, I need to check if the user's input is a duplicate of any number in that same column, but I can't figure it out. When I tried it, it always check the same box. For example, if I entered 4 in [1][1] (going by 10x10 grid), it automatically checks right after I entered that [1][1] is the same as my input and erases it. My professor wants me to check it with the "CheckWinner" method.
I tried the following when someone told me to pass the reference of the JButton being clicked to ignore it.
Recently we updated out database and we changed our tables' and columns' names, I'm developing an adf application with EJB3.0 the question is that the new column names start with a number (eg. 001U_ID), its a kind of encoding the names of the tables so no one can modify the values.
When I create a query on the table it is throwing an exception:
Caused by: com.microsoft.sqlserver.jdbc.SQLServerException: Incorrect syntax near 'U_ID'.
I think the problem is that the EJB3.0 doesn't recognize column names starting with a number!!! What can I do to solve this issue?
I have to find the average, highest, and lowest numbers in an array. I already have the average and highest, and I thought I could find the lowest number the same way I found the highest, but it's not working. It just keeps coming out to 0. I've tried out different ways, but I want to see if there are better ways than doing MAX_VALUE for the lowest, then looping it through.
import java.util.Scanner; public class Test_Scores { public static void main(String[] args) { //array,scanner,values
figuring out the logic to print the day number of the year. The directions for my homework are: Write a program that prints the day number of the year, given the date is in the form: month day year. For example, if the input is 1 1 05, the day number is 1; if the input is 12 25 05, the day number is 359. The program should check for a leap year . I have a basic outline of the program but i am having trouble with figuring out the logic to display the day number of the year given the date. This is what i have so far
import javax.swing.JOptionPane; public class Practice4 { public static void main(String[] args){ String monthStr; String dayStr; int inputMonth;
what I needed to know to complete the lesson, but now it just tells me what the output should be and I have to research the information on my own. anyways, here is my code from the previous lesson:
import java.util.Random; import java.util.Scanner; public class tnArray { public static void main(String[] args) { int [] array;
[code]....
Now I have to change it so that instead of counting the number of times a number will appear in the array, I must output which slot in the array the number is in.
I am working through a text and I am supposed to complete the following tasks.
Your ReadFiles.java class requires the following methods:
Method: check to see if the file exists
Method: find number of rows in csv file
Method: Converts the csv file to a mutli-dimensional array
Method: PrintArray
Method: Return array using a get method
Create a file DataAnalyzer.java. This file will be used to call the methods in ReadFiles.java. Be sure to demonstrate that all of your methods work through DataAnalyzer.java.
The problem is that it does not really provide any information on how to go about reading a file into an array. I am stuck at the third task of converting the file to an array and I have tried several ways to do this unsuccessfully. I thought that I would at least try to get things to print out (line 87) to see if I could get that to work, but all that prints in null over and over again.
Java Code:
public class DataAnalyzer { public static void main (String[] args) { ReadFiles aReadFiles = new ReadFiles(); aReadFiles.fileCheck(); aReadFiles.findRows(); aReadFiles.convertFile();
