Java - Getting Data RFID Serial Rs232 In JFrame Class
Apr 14, 2014
**Getting data on from rfid scanner as Serial rs232 port in JFrame**, in this case I have made a JFrame form and I have a JTextField for storing data rfid as a String. Actually, I found a class from internet that read the RFID reader as byte, now How To get data from my RFID Class to my JTextfield Jframe in my main class as String?
I've been trying to pull data from another class file "Calculations.java" and have it be displayed in a TextField in "DataAnalyzerGUI.java". Here is how the hierarchy is broken down for my assignment:
My company is a transport company. We receive goods form partner and transport it to customers. There is a process that we must accept a number of kilograms into bill after we weigh goods by the electronic balance(the electronic balance have serial port plug in PC) . To decrease this process, I'm looking for a project "read serial port wrote in java applet". Who have code,
Right so I have my ItemsPage Jframe Class and I'm trying to pass my TotalPrice variable to my CashPay so I can calculate the change. CashPrice runs and works but when I try run ItemsPage it does nothing I don't even get errors. I tried to remove that small section of trying to pass the variable to CashPay and it worked perfectly so I 100% know that's the problem. This section "public ItemsPage() { Pounds = ""; //super();
Scanner sc = new Scanner(System.in); CashPay sendTotalPrice = new CashPay(); //System.out.println("Enter your amount"); TotalPrice = sc.nextDouble(); sendTotalPrice.printTotalPrice(TotalPrice); " Here is complete code for both classes, I'm using GUI builder.
I am trying to create a second class in a single java file (first time trying this) and want to use data from the first class in the second class but I am not able to do it. What am I missing :
package simplecommissioncalculation; import java.util.Scanner; // import java.util.Scanner public class SimpleCommissionCalculation { public static void main(String[] args) {
I'm trying to share an hashmap(or any other stuff to share data) between a java class and a servlet. The hashmap has to be filled into the servlet with some data and then I have to get those data from the java class.
What is the best approach? I cannot use a DTO because I have several concurrent requests to my servlet.
Your Tester class main method must use an array or an ArrayList of Person objects. It must be populated from a text data file, friends_data.txt. Add the following data to your text file,
Michelle, 12/20/2008, Camilla Bryan, 3/8/2007, Tom Camilla, 6/7/2005, Michelle Tom, 10/15/2007, Bryan Charlotte, 3/2/2008, Michelle
Each line has the meaning:
-Person name, Person date of birth (MM/DD/YYYY), name of best friend -Write a Java program that reads in the data from the friends_data.txt file, allocates a new -Person for each and then stores the newly created object in either an Array or an ArrayList. -Next print out a report showing the following information for each Person,
1. The Person's name 2. Their popularity counter 3. Their age on May 1, 2014 4. The name of their best friend 5. The age of their best friend on May 1, 2014
Finally, print the name of the most popular Person and the name of the oldest Person.
Person Class
import java.util.ArrayList; public class Person { public String personsName; public String personsFriend; public String personsBirthday; public int personsPopularity; public int popularity = 0;
"method getPopularityNumber in class Person cannot be applied to given type: Required: java.lang.String[]; found: no arguments; reason: actual and formal argument lists differ in length.
I have created a java gui application and I need to communicate through the serial port. I would like to open the serial port in the beginning of the application and then close it when the applications closes. The problem that I am having is that I created a method to open the serial port in the main function but I can not close the serial port on exit off the application. Is there away of having the serial port be setup so that all methods can access the serial port.
I have a string of variable tags (tag) filled with variables, and using a Scanner (scan) to manipulate and generate data dictionary add cards for each. The variables are delimited with new line character, and the variables are structured such that the actual name of the variable contains info as to its data type, size, etc. What I need to do is move the scanner to a particular point into the string then use .nextInt() or similar. I don't want to do this to the whole variable, just where I start it from. How can I do this?
Scanner scan = new Scanner( tag ); int ptr = tag.indexOf( "_" ); ptr++; if ( Character.toLowerCase( tag.charAt( ptr ) ) == 's' ) // then start at the "_" character and grab the nextInt()
I want to write a program that accepts user input and then prints its average in a serial way.
Suppose i enter 5. I should get result 5 first time then i input 10 then it should return the average of (5 and 10) and then i enter say 20 it should return average of (5,10 and 20) and so on.
I would like to pass a variable I have in my main to my JFrame. In my main I calculate which pictures I should show in my JFrame. Is it possible to make objects of these pictures in my main class and use them in my JFrame? something like my code below.
public class JFrameTesting { public static void main(String[] args) { Image ImageVariable = Toolkit.getDefaultToolkit().getImage("C:1.jpg"); MyJFrame f = new MyJFrame(); f.setTitle("Drawing Graphics in Frames");
I have one question that suppose I am designing a Swing applications and I am using JFrame as Top level container.
So what is best
1)first Extends that class like
public class A Extends JFrame { //Do all stuff with Top Level container with gui }
2)Or design like this from this source
[URL] ....
package components; import java.awt.*; import java.awt.event.*; import javax.swing.*; /* TopLevelDemo.java requires no other files. */ public class TopLevelDemo { /** * Create the GUI and show it. For thread safety, this method should be invoked from the event-dispatching thread. */ private static void createAndShowGUI() { //Create and set up the window.
import javax.swing.JFrame; public class groupingTest { public static void main (String[] args) { groupWindow test = new groupWindow();
[Code]....
At the start of the groupWindow it turns yellow and it says "The serializable class groupWindow does not declare a static final serialVersionUID field of type long".
I am making a simple battleship program, you have the menu and click Start to get the board with the bombs (4 buttons as of now) Each button has either a bomb or a defualtbutton. I created my button so it can't be unselected. The problem is I have the button in a Class.java and I want that to close in a period of time. What do you recommend using?
/* * To change this license header, choose License Headers in Project Properties. * To change this template file, choose Tools | Templates * and open the template in the editor. */ package battleship; import java.awt.Dimension; import java.awt.EventQueue; import java.awt.GridBagLayout;
[code]....
I can call the clas in my main jFrame but I want to close the class after a certain time.
I am working with a program where I am required to use a JFrame in a child class. The only way that I know how to access a JFrame is to do, example (public class Example extends JFrame), but since it is already extending the parent class, I am kind of stuck. I do not think that you can extend two separate classes, so..... I am stuck.
What is the difference between extending JFrame in one class and simply constructing a new JFrame object in that same class? What benefits do I have with each solution, providing I want to use that class to create the GUI. Is it the same or are there differences rather than not having to reference to a new JFrame to be able to use its functions?
I'm working on a program using GUI. My problem is that I'm reaching **1000 Line** and this is stressful because all my code are in one file. I'm not liking this. So I research the internet about Inheritance. However, what I know about Inheritance that Inherit everything in the parent class. However, when I try to use a variables in the child class to override it in the parent class I can't for example let say that I have in the parent class something like this:
JButton getButton = new JButton("Enter");
Now when I go to the child class. I want to Inherit and use this variable so I can use the ActionListener on the getButton and override for the parent class, but it's not working.
This is my code:
public class H_Store extends JFrame { private String s ="Kinds: "; private JButton calculateButton; private JPanel mainPane; private JPanel getProfitPanel; private JTextField ground_M_QTextField;
[Code] ....
What I want to do exactly is to take the last code into another class or do something with it so I can use it in the Parent class, in other word any math calculation method or class I want them outside the Parent class. I mean this code :
private class CalcButtonListener implements ActionListener{ // vairbles for the ground Meat check box private double total_GM; private double weightPrice_1; private String stringQ; private String stringW; private String stringP;
I have a swing jFrame set up with a control group which contains 3 radio buttons.
When one is clicked it sends its label to a jtextfield in a different class i have code parsing text by a term
Java Code:
Scanner s = null; try { s = new Scanner(new BufferedReader(new FileReader("/Stage_One.txt"))); s.useDelimiter("*"); String total = (s.next()); Pattern p = Pattern.compile("[]+");
[Code] ....
I just need to know how to access the jframe variables (textfields, panels and such) so i can use their inputs in code to filter a text file.
I've used Netbeans IDE to create a simple Swing JFrame container, class NewJFrame.
NewJFrame calls another JFrame with dialog in it. Problem is there is an endless call made to it. Here's the issue relevant piece of code:
//Code for calling class package p; public class NewJFrame extends javax.swing.JFrame implements ActionListener { ......... public NewJFrame() { initComponents(); //IDE auto generated code for binding
[Code] ....
I searched but i cannot understand why run class is getting called multiple times. I have attached the screen prints for both the screens. 2nd screen print(of called class) is very shallow since screen was blinking unstopped due to multiple calls, but i have attached a faint image of it.
how to use JFrames and button and so on in Java. I found this video on youtube and followed it along, however even though my program is virtually identical to his, I'm still getting errors.
Here's the video I was watching: Video
And here's my code:
import javax.swing.*; //Imports JFrame and JButton for use import javax.swing.JFrame; import javax.swing.JPanel; import javax.*; import java.awt.*; import java.awt.event.*; public class swing
[code]....
The reason why I'm importing some many things is I'm trying everything to try fix my problem.
He's the error messages I'm getting:
frame2.add(panel); ^ C:UsersWindows 8Documentsswing.java:42: error: illegal start of expression frame2.add(panel);
[code]....
I used to make the button just create another frame without additional labels but I changed it to be even more similar to his program just to rule everything out. Also initially my program varied quite a bit, I've changed everything to be like his. Even without the ";" error I got, I kept telling me I was not allowed have my class as static, even though the guy in the video has it set to static. Also I don't think my "setDefaultCloseOperation(JFrame.EXIT_ON_CLOSE);" is working as it doesn't change color.
I think the problem is with my panel, it isn't adding to the frame for some reason.I'm using TextPad7 and I'm using Win8.
C:UsersWindows 8Documentsswing.java:42: error: '(' or '[' expected frame2.add(panel); ^ C:UsersWindows 8Documentsswing.java:42: error: illegal start of expression frame2.add(panel);
[code]....
I would also like to point out that some of the comments are out of date and are referencing the way the program was before I made it just like his. For example I know my second class isn't inheriting the first class.
