Methods Start Will Give Indexes Into Text Where Found Match Starts
Jun 29, 2014
public class Regextest {
public static void main(String a[]){
String stream = "ab34ef";
Pattern pattern = Pattern.compile("d*")
[code]....
My question is: The methods start()will give the indexes into the text where the found match starts .d*, this means if a number found.index must be returned. Why doesn't it print 3? 12345
I have a large text file of 1 GB size. I need to print the line when a matching word is found in a particular line. Below is the code I am using. But if there are many lines that has the matching word, it's taking lot of time. Any solution to print the lines much faster.
Scanner scanner = new Scanner(file); while (scanner.hasNextLine()) { String line = scanner.nextLine(); if(line.contains("xyz")) { System.out.println(line); } }
I am writing a program for a game. It is between the user and a virtual player. The game starts with a pool of consecutive integers 1-100. The size of the pool is based on a random generated number at the beginning of the game. At the start, both players' scores are 0. For each turn, the player picks one number from the pool. That value is added to the player's score, the computer gets the sum of all the remaining numbers in the pool that divide evenly into the player's pick. The player's pick and its divisors are then removed from the pool.
The player should be able to play the game as many times as she wants without ending the program. Instructions should appear on the screen only once at the start of the program.
For each turn, both players' current score, the current pool of numbers, and a prompt for a number to be entered should show onscreen. I have written the code until I get to the function that updates the pool of numbers after a turn.
import java.util.Scanner; import java.util.Random; public class SlickPick { public static void main (String[] args){ Scanner read = new Scanner(System.in); int []pool = new int[100];
[Code] ....
My thinking is that I need to use the binary search to find the indexes of the divisors array and then use those indexes as the start values. I'm not sure how to assign the divisors indexes to start. Do I need an array for start? Whenever I run the program, the only value missing is 3.
//Name : poolUpdate //Description : This function modifies the contents of the pool as a result of a turn of play. //Parameters : The pool array, the divisors array, the size, and the user's pick. // : //Return : public static void poolUpdate(int[] pool, int[] divisors, int size, int pick){ int low=0; int high=size-1;
With the code below, I am trying to replace all regex matches for visa cards within a given text file.
My first test was with a text "new3.txt" exclusively containing the visa test card 4111111111111111. My objective was to replace the card with "xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx". This was successful.
However, when modifying the text file to include other characters and text before and after (ex: " qwerty 4111111111111111 adsf zxcv"), it gives mixed results. Although it successfully validates the match, it replaces the whole text in the file, rather than replacing solely the match.
When trying this search and replace with words (rather than a regex match), it does not have this behavior. What am I missing?
import java.io.*; import java.util.regex.*; public class BTest { //VISA Test private final static String PATTERN = "(?s).*4[0-9]{12}(?:[0-9]{3})?.*"; public static void main(String args[]) { try
I am assigned to create a program "Simpletron" that the only language understands it is Simpletron Machine Language or SML. I figured out the most but I get the message "No main methods, applets, or MIDlets found in file" when compiling the program. I pasted my program so that you can see.
public static void main(String[] args) { Scanner Keyboard = new Scanner(System.in); System.out.print("Please enter your name."); String name = Keyboard.next(); name = "name";
The problem I'm having is when the text box pops up and ask to start with a root name, I cannot enter anything and I am not sure what I have done wrong.

For an assignment I need to read an input text file and evaluate the triangle based on the data found in the text file which consists of an unknown number of groups of 3 numbers (Each group representing a different triangle). According to the project specifications I need to have a main method and several other methods. I have the main method set-up to receive data correctly but I am confused as to how I would get the values out of the text file and use them in the main method. For example, if I were to call the computePerimeter method in my main method, how would I make sure I get the correct perimeter for the given data?
Here is the code I have so far:
import java.io.*; import java.util.Scanner; public class TriangleEvaluator { public static void main(String[] args) throws FileNotFoundException { Scanner in = new Scanner(new File("triangleData.txt")); double s1; double s2; double s3; while (in.hasNextDouble())
import java.util.Scanner; public class Arraykey { public static void main(String[] args) { System.out.println("Enter array size: "); Scanner input = new Scanner(System.in); int size = input.nextInt(); int [] a = new int[size]; for(int i=0 ; i<size ; i++){
I have a login window, which when sucessful will activate a new Applet/JFrame. The problem is that the login window remains in the background under the new JFrame. I want this to diappear. I want to either set the visibility to false, or close it.This is how the new window is started:
if(sucess.equals("flase")){
DBAccess dba = new DBAccess(); dba.setFname(fnameusr); //fnameusr dba.setLname(lnameusr); //lnameusr dba.main(null);
//LogIn.exit(0); }else{ JOptionPane.showMessageDialog(null, "Your credentials were not entered correctly or you may not be authorised to access this system."); System.exit(0); }
When the application starts and the index page is initially loaded, dialog is not shown correctly (panel is not shown) and shows that selected==null. But in debugger prepareSelect seems working correctly and selected is initialised (not null). When I reload page, dialog is shown correctly.
Below are facelets for the page composition and backing bean code.
Register.xhtml <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" ?> <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd"> <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml"
Write a Java code of the method startsWithCount that takes an array of strings words and a String S. The method should return an integer that is the number of strings that starts with S.
For example if:words = { "All", "Arab", "size", "Almond", "Allowed", "here"} and S= "All", then the method should return 2
PHP Code:
public class StringwithCount { public static void main (String[]args) { String strings[] = { "All", "Arab", "size", "Almond", "Allowed", "here"}; String output= ""; for ( int i = 0; i < words.length; i++) { if (words[i].startsWith("s")) c + +; }
So I want the method getDisplayText of d to be returned as long as the for loop runs. When I do this I get a compile time error to enter a return statement. I am currently trying to fix it by returning an empty string, yet this doesn't seem the right way to go.
public static String displayMultiple(Displayable d, int count) { for(int i = 1; i <= count; i++) return d.getDisplayText(); return ""; }
Recently we updated out database and we changed our tables' and columns' names, I'm developing an adf application with EJB3.0 the question is that the new column names start with a number (eg. 001U_ID), its a kind of encoding the names of the tables so no one can modify the values.
When I create a query on the table it is throwing an exception:
Caused by: com.microsoft.sqlserver.jdbc.SQLServerException: Incorrect syntax near 'U_ID'.
I think the problem is that the EJB3.0 doesn't recognize column names starting with a number!!! What can I do to solve this issue?
How can I access the index of one character array and store those indexes into another array? I need this array of indices so as to perform an addition with another array.
Suppose I have a char array that stores all the letters of the alphabet (say alpha) and I have an another char array (say letter) that contains some letters in it. I want to retrieve those letters from the "letter" array and check its index in the "alpha" array and store that index into another integer array.
i've worked with java for 1 month, i'm designing some practices at Netbeans IDE. my problem is i tried to make a single colorful interface using panels, adding colors and i want to know if i exist a way to give a color to the JFrame (i tried to use the background color option but this didn't work).
public void addEvent(ActionEvent evt) { uname = Util.getUname(); boolean a = EventDAO.add(this); if ( a) { message = "Event has been added!";
[Code] ....
While executing this..i get the following error: ORA-01861: literal does not match format string. Could it be due to any mismatch in date format (chrome browser automatically takes date in the format mm-dd-yyyy )? If yes, how do I resolve it? (I'm using Oracle database)
I have a table which contains list of regular expression and its corresponding value.I have to fetch those value and put it HASHMAP where regex as key.I have to compare the each key with the given string(input) and If matches I have to get the corresponding Value for the regex.
