My friend uses quite a lot of tick boxes for Yes/No questions. he asked me if it was possible to show the difference between entering an actual NO and never ever visiting the box in the first place. I replied "that's easy you need tri-state".
I can switch tri-state on all right but the table field is still Yes/No so it does not save the third state. Second attempt is to replace the tick box with an option group showing yes/No/Not clicked. Now I find that I am trying to use the "improved" version 7 interface and I can't get the option group wizard to work at all.
When using the Format:'yyyy mm dd' in access queries. When trying to show a week is there a way to show the date range instead of week number.
Week 01 = Jan1-7. If the results are only week numbers that makes it hard for people to understand when it actually is. Bottom line is: I would like to convert Week number to actual date range. Can anyone help with this?
Is it possible to format a textbox such that a negative value doesn't show numerically but in some other form (like a cross or exclamation mark from the Wingdings font, for example?)
I have a couple of textboxes which take their values from a function. The function is designed to return a long integer value which should always be greater than or equal to zero (the function counts the number of outstanding e-mails in a given Outlook folder, hence it should always be zero or higher)
However, as part of my error handling, if the function can't connect to the Outlook folder for whatever reason (for example, if the user does not have the appropriate permissions, or they do not have it mapped etc.), then it returns -1 (so I have some sort of value to identify a fail)
So currently, if such an error occurs, my textbox(es) will show -1 (and I can use conditional formatting to highlight this)
But it would be nice if it showed an "X" or "!" instead, and only showed the numerical value for 0 or positive. Is this possible?
I have a query which is displaying a date/time field a record was input. in my query I'd like to only display the records where the date/time based on what today is i.e. Monday it will display <Friday or yesterday for Tue to Fri.
I am importing a table into my access database from an oracle DB. The date field comes in as text (20060604 - for June 04, 2006). I am trying to build a delete query, macro, expression or anything else that searches all the records in that particular field and delete those particular records that have the actual month date. (ex:all the records that have 06 (for June) in the middle). Any help will be much appreciated.
I have a crosstab query that groups by week to obtain columns for monday to sunday. Is there a way to obtain the actual dates that these columns represent?
I am using Access 2007 and I have had a curious issue arise.
I like to use the Date Picker feature on all my forms to make it easier to enter dates. I have set up each table's date field property to "show date picker for dates", as per attached (.jpg)
When I use that particular field in a form, I also set up the field to allow for the Date Picker option (date picker form property sheet.jpg)
The curious part is that not every form that I set up actually shows the date picker when I select the date field. Some forms it works perfectly, others it doesn't.
I have created a table that contains banking info. I have a field for Transaction #; the Transaction # is always 4 digits. Sometimes that number begins with a 0. When I enter the 0 at the beginning, Access will not show it. I've tried setting the Input Mask (tried #### and 0000) but that still didn't work. The field type needs to be number so that my report will sort properly. How do I get the 0 at the beginning to show?
I'm sure this should be simple but I can't figure it out. What I want is for a text box on a form to display the number of records within a table.
Basically I've got a make table query which creates a table ox X records depending on how many records in the original table match the criteria. So for example:
Table A has 100 records
Query identifies 30 that mee the criteria
Makes a new table called criteria_met with these 30 records
What I want is for a textbox on a form to display "30" and update whenever the make table query runs (probably via a macro??)
I am currently building a database incorporating critical events for a manufacturing process. The start date of the process triggers the expected dates for each critical event therefore I will simply add days to the start date to get the critical event date. How do I skip weekends. If the start date was on Wednesday the 5th and the first critical event was to conclude on the 3rd day after Wednesday the 5th I would like to have the critical event skip the weekend and move to Monday the 10th. I would like to do this within a query.
hello to everyone...i am a new member here.... and also a begginer in vba .... in a few words i need to know how can i display all the monday's off a particullar month and generally another days of a month
I have a continuous subform. Because the records are often many, the user needs to scroll down the page.
How do I have a text box in each row that shows Record x of Total Records?
I tried setting a text box control source = [currentrecord] in the Detail area of the subform but it didn't work . It did weird things because I suspect the control is trying to show the record that has the focus or something
I have a main form called "frmMain" and on it I have a text control named "txtBoatStatus". The control source for txtBoatStatus is determined by code that I have in the Form_Current event. The code is as follows:
txtBoatStatus.Value = "There are " & BoatStatus & " boat orders that are complete."
(end code sample)
Now when I first open the frmMain everything works great and the control will say, "There are 5 boat orders that are complete." Perfect. However, In the instance if I open the form with my Boat Orders and mark off another order as complete (bringing my total to 6), the txtBoatStatus does not update when I reopen frmMain. It will only update and show, "There are 6 boat orders that are complete." if I manually hit SHIFT+F9.
How can I do this automatically? I've tried various things such adding "Me.Recalc" or "Me.Requery" to differnt events, controls, etc. but I still cant get it to show the updated number automatically. How can I get it to update without SHIFT+F9?
I am trying construct a form that will only show an invoice if all the invoice records have been approved. I have created a form that will allow the user to look at each line of an invoice and has a checkbox to approve it. If the user has selected all the boxes it will disappear from the Approval view, which is a query that shows unique values.
The problem is that if all of the lines but one are checked it will also show up in the view for the unapproved invoices AND the approved invoices. I would like to know how to structure a query that shows unique values but ONLY if ALL of the invoice line items have been approved.
I have been trying to calculate date difference not including weekends. I found this code to use in another thread, but am unsure of where to put it. I am quite new to using access, so a detailed description would be very useful!!!
