This has got to be a really easy one for you guys...!
I need to record the date/time a record was created - I've tried to use now() but obviously that updates and there appears to be no function for create date...
I think I know the answer to this, but thought I'd see if anyone had any ideas... I was asked if there was any way to know when a record was created in the database. When the table for these records was created, a field for "Enter Date" (i.e. the date the record was enterd into / created in the database) was not a part of the structure. I know that for going forward, we can create this field in the table and have it populate with Date() behind the scenes so we can track the actual enter date. But, for the records that are already there, is there anything that Access keeps somewhere as to when the record was created in the table?
I created a module to generate the correct date to begin manufacturing. There are two sets of criteria. If the job's prefinish is a certain code then manufacturing takes 7 days. If the job's door style is a certain code then manufacturing takes 5 to 6 days. Otherwise the date range is 4. Prefinish takes precedence over door style. I have units that have the special prefinish and one of the door styles listed then it gets the door style days instead of 7 days. Any ideas?
Function CreateWOSDDate(ByVal PreFin As String, ByVal DrStyle As String, ByVal DelDate As Date) As Date
Dim intNumDays As Integer
Select Case PreFin
Case "BR17", "BR28", "WH06", "BR06", "BR11", "WH17", "BR00", "BR22" intNumDays = 7 Case Else intNumDays = 4 End Select
I am new to the forums, so if i posted this in the wrong section...please accept my apologies...
I am creating a database for recording some information about various customers. There is a date field involved, and if a certain number of days pass from that date, i want to create a button that when it is pressed it will check all the dates to see if this condition is true.
EX
Current Date is 10/21/2006, when i press the button, the database will check to see if 10 days have passed from the date recorded.
User 1 - 10/05/2006 - True User 2 - 10/10/2006 - True User 3 - 10/15/2006 - False
Then it would just display the records which are listed as true only. I was thinking of using a query, but i am not sure how to quite do so...please give your recommendations as to what i can do.
I am editing data in a table that was designed by someone else. For some reason, they divided the date into three columns (YR, MON, DAY). I would like to join these three fields together and create a legal DATE field. I have tried the following:
SELECT YR AND MON AND DAY AS TheDate FROM MyTable;
However, it returns an odd result. I think this might be because ACCESS does not know I want a date format.
My question is: is the above QUERY correct and how do I tell ACCESS to put the concatenated data in a date format.
This works but how do I use "datecreated" to get the creation date of the table and format it. I tried to use DateCreated in place of Date but get errors such as variable not defined or .datecreated without a with block. The result I'm going for is something like "tblMstr20140603".
I have developed a Debt Management program for work but I am stuck on a feature that we need to add to it. Basically I have a table which holds "planned future transactions". These are ad hoc transactions that need to be added from time to time to the clients budget. For example the client might have $500 a quarter for school fees for the next two years or he might receive a bonus every six months for the next 5 years. Currently we are putting these in manually but it is tedious and is causing complaints. The feature I require is to be able to add a record such as the school fees, nominate that this fee is paid every three months for the next 8 quarters and get the system, say through an append query? to create 8 records, each with the appropriate date 3 months after the previous one.
Any suggestions or assistance would be appreciated.
I use Access 2013. Is there an easy way to do the following: I have a contract that starts on eg 01/07/2015. Tenant has to pay 100 each month. Is there a way to create a query/table/... where access automatically makes a due date? EG: Joe needs to pay me 100 each month, starting 01/01/2015 until 31/12/2018.
This means:
01/01/2015 - due 100 from Joe 01/02/2015 - due 100 from Joe ... 01/12/2018 - due 100 from Joe
I think my question is fairly simple - fingers crossed.
I want to create a field that, whenever a record is added, it auto-adds the date & time the record was created. I'd call it Book_Date_Added, or something like that. I tried snooping around the Default Value options but couldn't figure it out.
The table exists and it already has some records, so I'd need to know how to add this field rather than how to create it when I create a table (although that would be helpful too, if it's somehow different).
i'm trying to create a query of all employees doesn't have any transaction for a certain range of date and will also shows the last transaction date they have.i have two databases one is the transaction file and the other is the user file.
What I have is a single table that I need to create a report from. It has vehicle unit numbers, dates of service, repair details and costs. I am trying to generate a report where I can select a unit from a combobox and enter a date range.
I am trying to create an expression to pull data from 2011 to present date. I need the data for 2011 to only reflect 1/1/11 through 10/7/11 (today's date in 2011). I need the same for 2012 and 2013.
I don't want to have to enter dates each time I run this, therefore, a formula would be preferred rather than hard numbers.
I work for a company that manufactures home appliances & electronics. When those products fail within the warranty period, we are obligated to repair the units for the customers.
We have around 200 factory technicians who make those repairs. Each tech is able to make approximately 8 repairs each day. We have a dispatching system that assigns the repairs to the techs based on their availability each day. But the problem is that we have to manually enter and adjust the schedule for all 200 techs every single day, and this takes a lot of time. And of course technicians get sick, take vacation, etc, so we have to adjust the schedule so no techs will be assigned calls when they're off.
The problem: For example, currently when a technician takes off for 2 weeks, the user has to enter 14 individual records for the tech, which is somewhat time consuming. What I need is to program a button click event to determine the two dates (startDate & endDate) and append multiple records from one single entry in the form for each date in between and including the two date fields.
I know I'll probably need to create a loop that will loop through the two dates on the form and append a record for each day, so I can then cross reference the dates to the master schedule dates to make sure that no availability is opened for the techs taking time off.
Looking to create two command buttons or two keystrokes sets in an Access 2007 form that will allow me to place a current date and time in any allowable field where the Cursor is presently placed. Similar to what was in Access 2000, ctl: (for the current date) and ctl shift : (for the current time).
I have a make-table query that pulls all the fields from 1 table (MainTable), and creates a new table with a date stamp based apon a form value entered (New Table = MainTableWithDate).
Currently, I setup the query to pull info from the form field like this:
DateField: [Forms]![frmmain]![DateField]
However, when the make-table query is done - all date fields are blank (all other fields are correctly created), and when I look at the new created table (mainTableWIthDate), the typeassigned to the date field is "Binary" (in the form, I've specified LongDate).
I have a database that makes use of standing orders. That means that if a client has a standing order to receive products during for example 4 time as year (quartely at the end of the month). to automate the new entry by copying an old entry in the database.
Let's say I have a client where we will have to send a product at the end of June, it will look at a field where the next send date is, and when it reaches 2 weeks for that date, to create a new entry in the database based on that entry. This way, it will pop-up in our open cases and we are aware of it and also will be visible in our report.
I have a report based on a query that has data for many dates. At the moment I have put a specific date in the criteria of the query so that I could build the report format. So it now displays all the data for the date i have in the criteria section. I will need to run this report several times per week so the specified date (and corresponding data in the report) will need to be changed to a new date when I open the report i.e. when I open my report I want to show data in the report only for a specified date.
Can I create a date parameter box open up when I open the report? Can I create a form with a button that when I click will open the report displaying data for that date? What would be the best way?I also need to display the specified date on the report.
I am trying to create a form to enter data in a table. I would like to make it pull in info from a switchboard. If the record already exists I would like it to find it and allow me to edit the info. If the record doesn't exist I would like to be able to add a new record with the data input. What is the best way to accomplish this?
I created a database and I manage to split it into front end and backend. now I'm going to make an EXE of the front end.My question is when I open the front end, I need the database to be empty, and them create a button that will make the user select which project he wants to open (backend).I also need to create a button that will create a new empty backend and save it as a new project.
I have a table that has entries recorded with date and time in one field, and I want to have a query that returns all records of a specified date or date range, regardless of the time in the field.
I have tried
Code: Between [StartDate:] And [EndDate:]
And
Code: Between [StartDate:] & "00:00" And [EndDate:] & "23:59"
I'm trying to get my "IncidentDate" field to autopopulate two other date fields to a few days from the "IncidentDate". The other two date fields are "ContainDueDate" and "RootDueDate". I'm trying to accomplish this on my "Test CAP Form"
I tried using the following in the BeforeUpdate of "ContainDueDate" and received a complier error: expected =
Code : DateAdd(d,2,[IncidentDate])
so I removed the parenthesis and nothing happened
Code : DateAdd d,2,[IncidentDate]
I even tried redoing it in the AfterUpdate of "IncidentDate" and nothing happened either
Code : DateAdd d,2,[ContainDueDate]
I'm not sure if I'm even using the right function to get what I want.
