I am using the Desktop services template as a starting point for an invoicing app. I would like to be able to add a product and/or service after the invoice is submitted so I can add a finance charge for invoices that haven't been paid yet. The template is setup to prevent items from being added once it is submitted. Looking for macro / rule that is preventing this action?
I have a main form and subform. The main form is bound to a table of invoices and the subform to a table of invoice items. I'm picking up the invoice number from the form to save it to the invoice items table, so I need to save the record for the invoice before saving the invoice items from the subform.
i have to write a result of the query to the excel, which is a invoice template where i need to enter the data.
Depend on the result the template can grow in size also, here if the size grows there needs to be informatin coming on first page for eg: address in first page should not repeat in second page, second page have purly order details and footer at the end which have signatue and attestation.
Problem is data can be in 1 page, 2 pages, 3 pages ..or more
How can i achieve this task as all pages have water mark as page 1, page 2...sand so on...?
I am trying to use Microsoft's Desktop lending Library Template, I've altered it to suit me but there is one thing I can't seem to do.
On the (Asset List) their is a Action Column with Check Out in, when you click on it, it opens the Check out Form which is ok when you've only got one item to check out.
What I want to do is be able to Check out multiple items out to one contact in one foul swoop.
Please suggest me how to do it.Any code or sample like this. I don't know how to add new row of product e.t.c. Please help me as I have never done any programming in ms access before (Done most of web development,asp.net,jsp,coldfusion)
I am practising making relational databases as I haven't used them before.
The mock database I am creating is based around a cleaning company.
I am trying to make a form which will display all of the bookings a certain cleaner has in the future. I want it to be able to display a booking along with the services (Windows cleaning, vacuum cleaning etc...) the customer wants.
At the moment, it is displaying each service (Window cleaning, vacuum cleaning etc...) as separate result on the form and it is not combined. They both have the same booking_ID from the booking table. How can I combine them?
It is far easier to understand what I mean by looking at the database (Attached). Take a look at the form I have created and then click the > arrow at the bottom to see what I mean.
I have an Access database that uses linked tables to connect to a SQL Server database. I have built many forms and modules that do a variety of things with this data. Lately, we have installed the Access database on a server, and started using Terminal Services to run it. Everything works fine if one person is using it at a time. However, we noticed that when multiple people use it at once, they seem to conflict with eachother.
It seems like one user will change the value of certain variables, and it will affect all other users. To be clear, nobody is using the same Windows User ID. Everybody is logged on in their own session.
Does anybody know why this may be, and what can be done about it?
I have a database that was designed for our needs (not by me) and I have limited database experience. I am looking for someone who can guide me through simple query modifications to existing queries for a flat fee. Please respond if interested and the amount charged for services. Chris O'Reilly
If I have also HEALTH and EXPAT (servant) Policies that their details structure are completly different in Order and OrderDetails tables .
ex: tbl HealthOrder: OrderID, TransactionDate, ClientID, AgentID + DoB, and tblHealthPolicy: In, Out , etc And same is for Expat that is different also of Health and Cars Policy and Order..
How to make all the three ORDERS ( car , health and expat) working on one OrderId to make it easly for me when I am working on PAYMENT .Note that I am working on THREE different Order Forms here . and only Payment Table is the common in each Form..
I have not created any user accounts for this new app. When working over terminal services, multiple users can open the app and look at it, but only the first person in can add info.
I have set the record lock fields and sharing correctly.
It appears that the program will only allow one admin to take control of the db, regardless of what they are doing inside the app. Is the best solution to define individual userids and passwords for each user?
I just want to know how to manage items in set and individual item. Suppose my product list are
individual items = A,B,C,D,E,F,G,H,I,J,K and 5 pc set = A,B,C,D,F and 3 pc set = G,H,K
How should I design the table. Previously I designed the table for individual items and whenever orders for set is placed user had to enter individual items with quantity.
E.g. order is for 5 pc set = 3000
A=3000 B=3000 C=3000 D=3000 F=3000
Now I need to just say 5 pc set and it should be automatically populated. And also if order have combination of individual and set items.
I hope this is the right forum for such a question, if not I apologize in advance.
I have an application that is being used by six people. When the newest version of it was built, I altered the desktop shortcut on everyone's PC to point to the newest version. Four of these shortcuts still work, but two are behaving somewhat erratically.
In the case of these two, clicking on the shortcut sometimes opens the older version of the application. I have recreated the shortcuts and they work for a while, before reverting to the older link. Going to the application via Explorer works fine.
While I am getting more comfortable with VBA, this area is outside anything I know. Could someone advise me on what affects whether shortcuts work or not? Do they automatically 'refresh'? If so, when?
In case it's relevant, everyone here is using the same versions of both XP and Access and everyone has access to the same drives.
Hello,I need to know is there any way to protect a shortcut on desktop ?Bcz someone is deleting (I dont know by mistake or intentionally) shortcut of database shortcut. I thinking about its protection from deletion only unless you have to supply a password or code something like that.Any idea..?With kind regards,Ashfaque
My server provider is telling me that my server is Linux and I would have to upgrade to windows to be able to connect my database to the SQL.so i figured, if there was a middle man who could collect the information and pass it along? Is there an add on of sorts to allow access to behave this way?
In my frontend code, I include a table with a version #. In my backend, I also include a version table. The front end will compare wih back end, and if it's different, it will force to get the updated version that it's stored in the LAN.
However, I do not want the user to open the file directly from the LAN because it might cause slow performance problem if multi-user,etc.
So I want to implement a code to force the application to be open only from desktop.
So far, I have a strUsername which detect the user network environ. Then, it will check the application path to determine if it was opened from:
C:Users<strUsername>Desktop
If not, then an error message will prompt to alert the member to copy the file in the LAN and save on their desktop.
It works on my laptop, all fine. Today I didnthe test in my user desktop, but the message saying that the file has to be opened from desktop keep appearing.
I double check the user folder and the Username environ is (cd98) but the user folder was setup as "CD98" capital letter. Does that affect the coding?
How can I make my code to not distinguish between lower or upper case either for username and folder user as well?
I used to have a code that we used to copy data from a folder that was on the desktop using the code below.
Code: DoCmd.CopyObject "C:Documents and SettingsAll UsersDesktopWetcleans
This does not work with windows7. I have tried the C:USERSPUBLICDESSKTOPWetcleans but that does not seem to work either. How to access a folder on the desktop ?
I'd like to have a custom icon for the accdb file for the users. I recall doing it for pre-2007 databases, but I can't figure out how to change the 2007 db. Is it possible with 2007?
I built a database application, and I need for more than just myself to use it at the same time. I have just learned that I should have built a project instead. Can I change my application "Maintenance.mdb" to a project or do I have to start over?
I was trying from a button on my form that will go to and bring up the desktop. I want it so I can put this database on anyone's computer and the button will work.
I am using this and it works but only on my computer.
Application.FollowHyperlink "C:UsersBryanDesktop"
I also tried this
Application.FollowHyperlink "C:Show Desktop.scf" And Application.FollowHyperlink "C:WINDOWSSystemShow Desktop.scf"
Both gives Runtime error 490 cannot open specified file.
