Forms :: Mouse Click Can't Work On OK Button For Combo Box Selection
Aug 25, 2014
I get a bizarre situation while I am using MS Access 2010 to select values with Combo Boxes on a form, i.e.:
* After I select one or more values from the drop-down list of a Combo Box, there is no response when clicking OK button using the mouse. It is stalled. I need to do the process again and then the mouse-click on OK button could work: click anywhere outside of the combo box, re-select the values, click OK Button, and done.
* However, I can always use Enter key (on the keyboard) upon OK button to complete the selection.
* The values in the drop-down list of the Combo Box were entered manually.
What is wrong with the combo boxes on the form? Why do I need to do twice to complete the selection using mouse-click? Why the keyboard-click ('Enter') can be always OK but not for the mouse-click?
How to open a search form with a mouse click on Button_Search
My idea is to pop up a form where user can enter the search text and select the required name and get back to the old form with all details about the entry. This form alone is workign fine. I want to call it in a mouse click. and pass the data back to old form.
I am currently working on an existing database (not created by me) which contains several queries. Each query relates to a particular product.
I am wanting to create a form which has a combo box so that a user can choose a particular product from the combox options and then click on the command button to run the correct query.
How to do this. I have created the form and the combox (together with the list of products). I just need to know what Event Procedure code I need to enter to programme it to look for the correct query and then run it.
For example.
I have the following queries product1query product2query product3query
I have the following options in the combo box product1 product2 product3
How do I get the command button to look at the product1 option in the combo box and then find and run the product1query.
i need the way for making a popup menu on the right clic of the mouse inside a form...so when i pree right mouse button i will have my list with my commands.
How can I move to control on form when user clicks on another control on same form? In other words... have set validation on controls and unless I disable all the other controls on form until I need it enabled, user can click on other control and get out of the validation sequence. Need to send user back to control they were on when they click on a different control elsewhere...
More Info" button based on Combo Box selection. I need to create a command button that can be used to see all of the data in the table for whatever name is selected in a combo box. For example, if John Smith is selected from the combo box, the user could click a "More Info" button, which will open a separate form showing all the data in the table for John Smith.
I want to be able to automaticallly send a mouse click in response to a message using a Macro or VBA code. Is this possible, Any suggestions appreciated
I have a dashboard-style form that has a list box with tasks connected to a query with line items of those tasks.
I have another query that will only show the line item selected from the list box. This means the query will only have one line item.
I want to have a command button below the list box that, when clicked, will modify the solo item in the second query to change a yes/no field from no to yes.
How can I accomplish this? Also, how can I make a button that deletes the selected line item?
I want to handle the event when I right click and choose "Paste" to pop up a message to the user that he cannot paste; disabling the pasting functionality.
I understand that the Button parameter refers to right or left button , but on which event to best use (mouse up ,mouse down , mouse move - as it seems to be a mixture of the three) and the code for that event.
Code: Private Sub List_MouseUp(Button As Integer, Shift As Integer, X As Single, Y As Single) ' See if the right mouse button was clicked If Button = acRightButton Then 'DoCmd.CancelEvent 'do event here End If End Sub
I don't want to cancel after there is a right click , but rather after right clicking and choosing "Paste".
I have a form (about patients) containing a listbox (list of visit dates) and a subform (showing medications at that date). When you click on the listbox, the subform is re-queried with the selected date as a parameter to show the medications that were in use on that date. This is working fine.
However, when you move to a new record (patient), the subform is initially blank because the listbox hasn't been clicked on yet. This means that it looks like the person isn't on any medications, which is causing some confusion.
I need a way to have the subform show the "top" (most recent) date because that is the current medication list, and the thing most people want to see first. It is always the top of the list, so I would like to do something like this (pseudocode)
Code: Private Sub Form_Current() Forms![MedSearch].SelectDateBox.Requery Send MouseClick Event to line 0 of SelectDateBox End Sub
In ContactIDForm it contain 1 textbox name 'TextBox' with Button Name 'Btn'
In ContactIDForm there is only 1 Text Box ContactIDTextBox and 1 Button. User Enters ID in TextBox and On Button Click Event it should check data from TextBox in Table name (ContactDetailTable) in field ContactID and if there is record matching, ContactInfoForm should Open else NewContactForm should open with ContactIDTextBox value in it.
I am very new to Access and have virtually no experience with vb, I'm trying to build a customer database with some forms that enable myself and a couple of others to keep track of customer contact.I have designed my form with 5 buttons at the bottom of the page with different future date values, I have made a field in my database called FollowUpBy and i would like to be able to click the buttons and have access take today's date plus the relevant follow up time-scale and insert that into this field. Also but on a separate note, I have the yes/no box for follow up required is there a way to make the buttons at the bottom and the date picker unavailable (perhaps shaded or crossed out) unless this box is checked?
I have a form listing out a bunch of clients. There is a button associated with each client that pulls open a new form with additional client information. There is information that is calculated on the backend and stored in the database when a user is inserted or different fields updated (i.e. there are reports that are due different time frames after the clients admission date. I automatically populate the database with those dates once the clients admission date is updated).
The problem I am having is that when I enter a new client or update a current client with new information and then click the button to go to their details page, those auto-populated dates are not populated. I am calling a subroutine that is within a module when the button is clicked. The subroutine works fine at other instances throughout the application so I know there is no issue with the code. I even call it if they click the close button, but before the information is auto-populated, I had to run a Me.Requery on the close button. I think this is because the records are not actually being updated in the database. I even have a DoCmd.Save acForms, "Clients" command before running the Call updateDatabase subroutine, but that doesn't do the trick. I can't run the Me.Requery after the click of the details button because when I do that it always opens the details form to the first ORDER BY record. I think that I need to update the selected record and re-call it in order for this to work.
Multiple IF functions in a form. I have a button that on click will print a report if certain fields in the form have data in them. If not, a msgbox pops up to let the user know that data must be filled and then sets focus on whichever field needs data in the form. There are many IF statements, and they all work fine until I get to a certain one then the remaining IF does not continue.
Here is some code:
If IsNull([Alert]) Then MsgBox "An alert time is required." _ , vbCritical, "Data Required" Me.Text591.SetFocus Exit Sub Else If IsNull([Enroute]) Then
[Code] .....
The next IF argument will bring up the msgbox when there is no data, thats great. However, when the user fills in the field and continues with the button click to print the report, the button does nothing.
Here is the next IF, the one with the problem:
If IsNull([Combo608]) Then If IsNull([Combo620]) Then MsgBox "You must select either a planned event or an emergency event." _ , vbCritical, "Information" Me.Combo608.SetFocus Exit Sub Else
How to get it to work, to continue with the remaining IF arguments after this one (there are several more)?
Or are there a better way to code this and not have the many IF arguments?
Often I use Labels as buttons due to the fact I can colour them the way I want, and use the on click event to trigger code. The code below however works for a command button, but not a label button.
DoCmd.OpenForm "frmdatetime" Do While Forms!frmdatetime!OKFlag.Caption = "False" DoEvents Loop
When this code is run by clicking on a command button, it works fine. If run by clicking on a label, frmdatetime opens, but the mouse will not work on either of the 2 open forms unless you go down to the windows task bar, jump onto another window, and back onto frmdatetime. If I remove the loop with the DoEvents in it, then the problem does not occur.
Can anyone enlighten me as to why this behaviour occurs.
I have a continuous form with a button 'Cmd1' & a textbox 'txtMail' which is set to visible no.
When the user clicks Cmd1 - then txtMail becomes visible.
I can do it using vba on the buttons click event but when it executes txtMail for all the records become visible.
How do I use a button's click event on the form's current record - Private Sub Form_Current() so that when the user clicks Cmd1 on the current record only txtMail for that record becomes visible.
Form 1 - Data entry for a new project Form 2 - Data entry for a task associated with the project in the Form 1
Button on form 1 that opens Form 2.
What I am trying to do:
Use a combobox on Form Two to choose the Project entered into Form 1, so I can capture the Form1 PK as a FK on Form 2.
Here is the problem:
Refreshing the record on the button click so that the new option entered into Form 1 shows up in the combo box on Form 2.
Full disclosure: I'm not much good at VBA so I have been trying to do this by customizing the button macro. I have tried Refresh, and Requery, but I can't seem to get it to update the list in the combo box.
2 questions:
1. How can I get this accomplished? 2. Is there a better way to get this data into the table than what I am trying to do?
The following code searches for a record and if not found, the user is advised of that and allowed to re-enter the lookup stock number. Obviously, the code is only going to allow valid stock numbers. If the user clicks the 'Home' command button to close the form with an incorrect stock number in the lookup control, it is an endless exercise in advising of the incorrect stock number. I'm thinking of using the 'Home' command button as an escape. How can I tell if the 'Home' button was clicked? I have indicated where I believe it should be put.
Private Sub txtLookupNbr_BeforeUpdate(Cancel As Integer) On Error GoTo Err_txtLookupNbr_BeforeUpdate Dim rst As DAO.Recordset Dim db As DAO.Database Dim lookup_Nbr As String lookup_Nbr = StrConv(Me.txtLookupNbr, vbUpperCase)
