Reports :: Printing Lines Vertical And Horizontal In A Report Like Table In Word Document

Sep 12, 2013

I need to replicate an existing report that has a number of 3 columns across the page and has 35-40 rows down the page...it's like a table in Word or a spreadsheet in Excel. I need to print the column and row lines.

Is there a simple way to include these in the report other than me drawing each and every line?

Publishing Forms To Word

Feb 14, 2006

Maybe this shouldnt even be done in a form as simple of a task i need. I have a query of multiple tables andi want to be able to export it to word with only a few of the columns from the query as well as displayings yes/no instead of -1/0. Basically im just trying to make a table in word so i can have all the correct pages headers and such to make our document control people happy.

Is there a way to publish a form to a word document and get the header of each column to appear at the top of each page? I noticed that if i export the form to HTML then copy and paste the table in the html file to word its works but thats a huge pain in the you know what, and the table ends up looking a bit odd in word and no amount of table formatting seems to fix that but thats a different issue.

Thanks

Linking Excel To Access Automatically - Publishing Daily Report?

Dec 6, 2012

Having experimented with Access for a few months now; I know you can link an Access Database to SharePoint, and you can export Excel files into Access for inclusion in tables.

My question is; If I have a daily report being produced, through script, with an excel output. Is there anyway to automatically publish this in Access, negating the need to manually go into Access to import?

Reports :: Inserting Blank Lines To Access Report

Jul 27, 2013

I have a specific form, paper version, that I'd like to reproduce in an Access report. This form, which has 34 blank lines in the paper version, is used when people need to borrow some Tools or Equipment on a short period of time.

My report is made up in Access, but, if a person signs for, lets say, three different piece of Equipment, once it is sent to the printer, it prints three lines, which are the equipement signed for and it leave a big empty space before it reach the page footer.

What I need is something that will fill that empty space with blank lines. I found the following on the Net which meets my needs up to a point. What I mean is once it print the last line, it keeps on printing the last line until it meets the total count of 34 lines.

Here what I found on the Net: (note that I have a =count(*) into the Group Header)

Option Compare Database 'Use database order for string comparisons
Option Explicit
Global TotCount As Integer
' Call the SetCount() function from the group header section's
' OnPrint property using the syntax: =SetCount(Report)

[Code] ....

I submitted an attach file (blank_lines.gif) to show you what I end up with.

Publishing Access Databases In Dreamweaver

Aug 26, 2004

I want to publish my access database on my local pc and was thinking of using something like Dreamweaver to do this. Is this possible? I don't want to put this on the webserver but on my local machine (only a few people will be connecting), and I've read something about a Personal Web Server so this could be done. Does anyone have any ideas / thoughts on the best way to do this? Oh, I want the database / web to be "live" so the tables get updated as they are changed over the web.

General :: Publishing Access Database On Web - Convert To HTML?

Feb 1, 2013

I have small program in access database which contains about 100 cca tables, querys, forms, macros in total. Customer which both program from me, wants me to enable him to access this program not just from work, it wants to access it from home or when he is on business trip from hotel etc.

I am little confused how to achieve this and what are my options? I assume I have to set by database somewhere on server and so my customer could access it any time? Do I have to upsize access database to SQL express or similar?

Also, one more important question: is it possible to "convert" access database into HTML code or similar so it could be accessed via web browser without need to install microsoft access and with freedom that it can be opened from any type of PC OS (Linux, Mac etc)?

General :: Publishing Access Tables For Runtime Viewers?

Feb 4, 2013

My office recently purchased Microsoft Access for our secretary to keep track of our contacts. No other employee owns Access so we have to distribute the tables through Access Runtime. However, there seems to be a problem.

I save and publish a database using the Packaging Wizard. I then send the associated folder with the install program to a computer which has Access Runtime installed on it. But, when I install the file I created with Packaging Wizard it just opens an Access window that is completely blank. It's actually the same thing that occurs when I try to open an Access file on a computer that doesn't have Access or Runtime installed on it at all.

Reports :: Dynamically Linking MS Word Document To A Report In Access 2010

Apr 18, 2013

I have developed a database using Access 2010. This is split into a Front End and a Back End.

In the same folder as the Back End I store a number of user modifiable files in either bitmap (.bmp) or MS Word (.doc to retain compatibility with older versions).

Unfortunately, the drive letter where the back end resides will change from location to location and I can't do anything about that.

I have set up a function that returns the location of the folder where the docs reside irrespective of the back end drive location, and this works perfectly with OLE linked pictures but not with OLE linked Word documents. User changes show correctly in Word document changes at locations with the original drive assignment but other locations show only the original doc contents even though they have been changed on the local back end location. - even if I delete the Source Item info on the report!!

An example of the code I am using for the Source Item is <GetBackEndPath() & "Footer.doc"> without the angled brackets of course, where GetBackEndPath() is a global variable storing the location of the documents folder ending with a back slash.

I have tried the above in the reports Source Doc property but Access won't accept this and says it isn't valid for this property.

Code:
Private Sub Form_Load()
If Me.Label33.Value = "<1" Then
Me.Label34.Caption = "Nothing."

Embedded Pics Create Huge File Size

Jun 27, 2006

I'd read a few places that embedding pics wasnt the greatest of ideas, but I thought that 1 JPG embedded onto 2 forms would be ok and would prevent the pic from being deleted or moved. (Theyre always screwing with the server here.) But it's making my DB huge.

No pics embedded
Size: 808kB

1 Pic Embedded into 2 forms
Pic Size: 156k JPG
DB Size: 135 MB

Is this normal? I could understand a 156k pic adding somewhere around 156k to my DB, but 134 megs? Anyone have any insight?

Field Missing In Report

Aug 6, 2007

I have a listbox on a form that fills. It shows the field Keyword.

I use the rowsource to drive a report.

Me.LP1.RowSource = "SELECT TXMASTERS.Barcode, TXCLIPS.NNAME AS Name, TXCLIPS.Comments, " _
& "TXCLIPS.Start AS TimecodeIn, TXCLIPS.Duration, TXMASTERS.SportorSports AS Sport, " _
& "TXCLIPS.StarRating, TXCLIPS.Shot, KEYWORDS.Keyword, TXMASTERS.SeriesName AS Programme, " _
& "TXMASTERS.EpisodeTitle AS Episode, TXMASTERS.Competition" _
& " FROM (TXMASTERS INNER JOIN TXCLIPS ON TXMASTERS.ID1=TXCLIPS.ID1)" _
& " INNER JOIN KEYWORDS ON TXCLIPS.Comments Like '*' & KEYWORDS.Keyword & ' *' " _
& "WHERE TXCLIPS.NName Like '*" & Replace(Me.LNAME11.Caption, "'", "''") & "*' " _
& "ORDER BY 1, TXMASTERS.BARCODE, TXCLIPS.Start"

On the report I have a textbox, with its source set as Keyword. However the box does not get filled.

I call the report from the form with:

DoCmd.OpenReport "COMPETITION", acViewPreview

In the report I have:

Private Sub Report_Open(Cancel As Integer)
DoCmd.Maximize
Me.RecordSource = Forms!Newqueryform3!LP1.RowSource
End Sub

Any help greatly appreciated, thanks

Report Problems:name Missing From Header

Jun 20, 2007

hi,
I have a report that has a header, detail. The header is grouped on last name. Whenever I have names that are the same, two Smiths in a row, for example, I only get the first one. THen, I seem to only get partial information in my detail section. I've fooled around with the grouping properties , but I only make it worse. How do I make the second "Smith" appear? This must've been happening before, but I didn't notice it. Thanks so much.
