Modules & VBA :: Pick ArrayID From A Form And Send Corresponding X And Y Values To Excel
Jun 13, 2013
I have hit a roadblock trying to send data to excel. I have created a table of Arrays where each record has an ArrayID, a record ID, an X unit and a Y unit. I want to be able to pick an ArrayID from a form and send the corresponding X and Y values to excel as part of a Linest calculation.
I have the code below which takes information from a form on access and sends it over to the correct place on an excel spreadsheet template. This works fine but I then need it to save and send on outlook.
The issue I am having is that the saved document is not attaching to the e-mail. The subject etc all work fine but the excel spreadsheet just doesn't attach. When I go into the folder I have specified for the document to be saved in it isn't there either. :0(
The code for the e-mail "callmail" function works perfectly for word documents but I don't know if it is different for an excel file.
Code:
Private Sub Command154_Click() On Error Resume Next Dim appExcel As Excel.Application Dim wbook As Excel.Workbook Dim wsheet As Excel.Worksheet Set appExcel = New Excel.Application
I have a form "A" with related subform "b". In that subform i built a macro wich opens a form "B" in a new window, to put a new record. And i need to put automaticly in form "B", values selected in record from subform "b".
I'm trying to develop a form that opens when you select a tab from another form. The first form would contain Standard Instructions (from a table) and the second form would have a Memo Field for special instructions. The user wants to be able to click a check box for each standard special instruction and when they close the first form all the check standard instructions to update the special instructions memo field on the second form. I'm thinking I have to set up a loop to go thru all records when the first form is closed. Any ideas on how this would work best?
I'm incrementing a counter every time I click on a combobox by using the on click event and this code:
Code: POcount = POcount + 1
I have 5 fields on my form: GWS1, GWS2, GWS3, GWS4 and GWS5.I want to store the value of the combobox when clicked into the correct GWS field. For example: If I click the combobox 3 times it would store the value of the combobox after the 1st click in GWS1, after the 2nd click in GWS2 after the 3rd click in GWS3.I tried
I'm trying to set up code to clear values from an excel sheet. I need to leave the header row in place, and clear data from the sheet. Here's what I have:
Code:
Option Compare Database Option Explicit Sub ClearSignUsedXL() Dim wb As Object
[Code] ....
This has been alternately throwing me a 438 Object doesn't support this method error and a 1004 Application or Object defined error as I've tried variations on Range, Row, Delete, Select etc.
I have some code in a form that calls for a public function and passes on some values. the function makes some calculations and assigns a value to the variable "percent" in the function itself.
How can I get the value of this variable back in the form so I can use it?
Form:
Code: Private Sub Form_Open(Cancel As Integer) Dim Table As String, TotalFields As Single Table = "tblAdmission"
I have a form with fields that contain the address/postcode etc of the person in question, and I also have a template letter that needs to have said persons address/postcode etc at the sending stage after a button is clicked.
I am a relative newbie to VBA, and not very familiar with loops, but I need to add a loop to my function that exports a query with criteria contained in a bound ComboBox on a form. I've gotten my code to work fine without the loop, but I would like to export one file for each item "Team_ID" contained in the ComboBox without the user having to manually select and re-run the function each time. Here is what my code currently looks like:
Code:
Option Compare Database Option Explicit Public Function CreateQCChartsforReports() As Boolean Dim qdf As DAO.QueryDef Dim strSQLStatic As String Dim BookName As String Dim BookName2 As String Dim intCounter As Integer Dim cboCode As ComboBox
I a trying to search some product from a search button and two combo boxes text values ,and on serch the vba code is :
Code:
Private Sub Command4_Click() Dim db As DAO.Database Dim rs As DAO.Recordset Dim varRecords As Variant
[code]...
I just dont know, the fuile is created on click of button but with headers only, dtaa is not coming but wheni debug ,in immediate window, data is oming but just not coming in excel file.
I am just beginning to manipulate Access from Excel.
I am trying to insert a row into a table. I am adding values for every field (8) except an Autonumber.
I have 2 Insert strings which are identical except for the fact that the one that doesn't work, doesn't specify which fields I am entering data into, which I presume shouldn't be necessary in this case.
When I try to use the second version I receive the error message...
Number of Query Values and Destination Fields are not the same.
In sheet 1, In column A all the Batch numbers are present. So I want to check if each of these is present in Access table named "tblmain". If its present then display its corresponding Policy number in Column B of attached workbook.
I'm using the following code to allow the user to pick a record from a continuous form and edit it in a new window. For some reason my where condition isn't working properly as the edit form always opens to the first record instead of the record associated with the "Edit" button that was pressed.
Code:
Private Sub lblEdit_Click() DoCmd.OpenForm "frmEditPlants", acNormal, , "[PlantID] = " & Me.PlantID, acFormEdit, acDialog End Sub
I am writing a module to send information to Excel, and the information is based on a Crosstab query. But I keep getting a "syntax error in the TRANSFORM statement".
Function Edt_Royalties() As Integer Dim AplicExcel As Excel.Application Dim Planilha As Excel.WorkSheet Dim stArq As String Dim DB As Database
I have the form (PROJECT DETAILS) that displays a specific record's information, one record at a time.I would like to click a button to export 5 specific fields (name, phone, address) of that form ("Project Details"), based on the PK "AssignNr", and then insert those fields in an already created Excel form that has those fields blank, but other fields filled in.
And then, as part of the same macro, I want to have the Print pop-up come up in the Excel form to select where/how that file will get printed.I've tried exporting from the Project Details form, but it exports all the records. And then I am not sure how / where to code the vlookup formula (if that's even necessary) to take the data from the exported file, into the existing Excel form that needs to be filled in.
Can this even be done in one macro, or do I need to create two - one to export data from Access to Excel. And then another in Excel to vlookup the details from the exported file, into the existing Excel file.
It would be nice if I didn't have to put in what the vlookup criteria is. (i.e. AssignNr (which is the PK)) - if it could just be taken from the PROJECT DETAILS form's current record selection.
I would like passing values from first form until third form.
In the first form I have a list box after selecting items (For each selected item in first form I have 4 values) and pressing button (or right click of mouse) the second form will be open, then in the second form I have 2 option (inserting, deleting), when I select inserting or deleting in the second form, third form will be open, in the third form there is a "OK" button, when I press that, passed values from first form will be used for inserting or deleting records to the table.
i have a form and i want to export it to excel file the form will be updated someties and the data will be changed here is my code, but there is a problem with it
Code:
Private Sub Command0_Click() Dim xlApp As Object Dim xlBook As Object Dim rs As ADODB.Recordset Dim sql As String Dim i As Integer Dim Conn1 As ADODB.Connection Dim Cmd1 As ADODB.Command
I have a file "MatchingData" thats linked to another file "Clist" . What I'm looking for to open "MatchingData" and update from "Clist" on opening. I don't know if I can do this without opening "CList". I have a feeling that I may have to open the "CList" (Hidden), update, then close "CList".
There is a textbox on a form and when I fill in its value, I would like it to lookup whether that value matches any of the values in another form and if it does present a message box. Both fields hold only numerical data, so no type mismatch issues.
I've tried the code following, but it only looks up the first value on the second form, not its entire dataset, which is problematic.
Code: Private Sub Lot_AfterUpdate() DoCmd.OpenForm ("Pot_Pot_ExtraLots") If Me.Lot.Value = Forms!Pot_Pot_ExtraLots!ExtraPotLots.Value Then MsgBox "There is a bag with extra sherds found during other analyses from this Lot! Lookup and combine results!" DoCmd.Close acForm, "Pot_Pot_ExtraLots", acSaveNo Else DoCmd.Close acForm, "Pot_Pot_ExtraLots", acSaveNo End If End Sub
I am trying to program a button on my ms access form to open up an excel file.. So far the simplest code ive found online was from URL....
<code>
Private Sub Command57_Click() Dim xlTmp As Excel.Application Set xlTmp = New Excel.Application xlTmp.Workbooks.Open "C:Excel1.xls" xlTmp.Visible = True
[code]...
However the code doesn't work, any way to open a file from within access?
my code does the following, user selects excel file, opens it, renames sheets, basically needs first sheet to be sheet1. rest don't matter Changes the formats in column a to number and 15dp, saves the file as .xls and then links the file to the database.
Code: Private Sub Command288_Click() Dim s As String Dim i As Long
I have a bit of code that uses controls on a form to batch add records to the tables. Before the code executes, it needs to do a check to make sure that all of the needed data has been supplied.
Code:
If IsNull(txtDateAdded) Then MsgBox "Please supply the date that the Label record was created" Exit Sub Else If IsNull(cboRecordCreator) Then
I'm trying to design a command button on a Form so the user can import the contents of an Excel spreadsheet to an existing Table in Access with the click of a button. But, i'd like the imported data to overwrite the existing data in the Table and not append to it. I've considered using linked tables but apparently you can't set Primary Keys when you do it this way.
I have a form with couple of textboxes bound to a table. When the user opens the form to enter records, i want to write a function that would go through the textboxes to check whether the textboxes are left NULL. Now i can write code on button click for each form, but i was wondering if its possible to write a function that could be called for each form that i have to check for null values.
