I am getting an error msg when i get to the line "Set frm = Forms(vFormname).Form". Error 2450, cannot find the referenced form...
'Code:

Set rs = db.OpenRecordset(SqlStr, dbOpenDynaset, dbSeeChanges)
If rs.EOF = True And rs.BOF = True Then

1. I have a two-tier, tabbed Navigation form (Menu-Main).
2. One of the second-tier tabs opens a form (VendorMain) which displays a Datasheet based on [Query.Vendor_Query]
3. VendorMain contains a Command Button (EditButton), which calls a subform (VendorForm) used for editing.
4. Upon saving the edits, VendorForm's OnClose event is supposed to Requery the datasheet on VendorMain, so the edits are reflected when the user returns.
I have tried over a dozen different permutations of the following, but nothing seems to work:
Getting error '2450' when click Access close button to exit.
Run-time error '2450': ECN cannot find the referenced form 'frmLogin'.
Note: After login my login form is visible to, cause to get login user id into "frmECN" Form. But When I'm in "frmECN" Form and enter data then close to exit Access main close button I'm getting 2450 error.
I built a form—frmDataEntry—whose Record Source is a query called qryEvent, which contains various fields from tblEvent. The primary key field is called EventID.
I also build a subform—sfmDataEntry—whose Record Source is a query called qryEventImages, which contains various fields from tblItem. One of those fields is ItemEventLink, which links records from tblItem to the EventID field in tblEvent. There is also an image box in this subform: filling in the field ImageFile with an image name (example: Logo.jpg) causes that image to display in the image box.
I’ve inserted the subform into the form using the Subform Wizard. Now I’m getting an error message that says "2450: Microsoft Access cannot find the reference form ‘sfmDataEntry’." Why this is popping up. The Link Master Fields and Link Child Fields sections of the property sheet are filled in correctly. Moreover, the subform records are still appearing, but the images linked to each record aren’t loading.
I have a access program and recently I began getting this Error out of the blue . I really need to fix this error because it shuts down my entire program . When I go to save a pic like i always do and it will not recognize the "quote Main ".
In my application I have continuous form with unbound textbox. In OnOpen form event I change ControlSource property of textbox to one of the fields (e.g. "Kol921") in forms recordset. In form footer I have another unbound texbox where I defined ControlSource property as "=Sum([Kol921])".
Values in fields shows correctly, but in "sum" textbox I get Error.
When I get through code in debugging mode (with F8 key), value in "sum" texbox shows correctly, but when I open form normally I get an Error in that textbox.
Here is part of code: Me.Controls("mat1").ControlSource = "Kol921" Me.Controls("mat1").Visible = True Me.Controls("matSum1").ControlSource = "=Sum([Kol921])" Me.Controls("matSum1").Visible = True
I am trying to set a filter on a form with VBA using variables and having no success at all. The code I tried last, which seemed to be "close, but no cigar", was:
sLastSource and sBiller are global variables. When I debug this code the sFilterValue is exactly what I would plug in manually and the Me.Filter shows up as "[Field Name] = Filter Value". But it crashes on Me.Filter = sFilterValue. I have tried all sorts of combinations but nothing I've tried works. What is the proper syntax for using variables as filters?
Is there a way to set the control source for an entire form through VBA? I have a database that was set up just as an archive file, not intending to have any forms or reports in it. It was simply to house tables containing data from previous years. My main database just copies the table over to the archive file and adds the year to the table name. I have just been told that the users would like a form and a series of reports set up in this database.
I would like to set the main form up so that before it will allow them to do anything, they have to enter the year of the data they are looking for. After the year has been entered, I would like to adjust the control source of the form to reflect the appropriate table. In other words, when a user opens the archived database, he or she will see a field for the year an nothing else. Once they enter the year they are looking for, the form will populate with data from the corresponding table (the table names look like this - tblPM_Completed_2013). Is this possible?
How to set focus to a non Default instance of a form.
Environment A2007 ADP Project Document Window Option - Tabbed Documents MS SQL 2012 Express DB Windows 7 64 Bit
I using Allen Browne's method to open more that one version of form, storing each form object in a collection declared in a module. No problem there.
Now I'm trying to add a command button on an form to set focus to one of these non-default instances already open.
The form I am trying to set focus to has a the following related properties
Default View: Split Form Pop-up: No Modal: No
The form that has the command button on it is of the same type.
Here is the code I've tried:
'Code on Calling Form Private Sub cmdProjectList_Click() Dim FunctionResult As Boolean
If AppForms.GoToForm("ProjectList") = False Then AppForms.Load_ProjectList
[Code] .....
The code compiles and executes with seemingly no problems. It finds the form loaded, then cycles though and finds the form in Forms but the SetFocus call seems to do nothing. When I run the code against a defualt instance ( one not opened using Allen Browne's method) it works fine and sets focus to it as expected.
I have been tasked with setting up a certificate request database. I have an Access 2032 FE & SQL 2012 BE. I need to store PDF documents from all our branches.
I have been working on this for the past 3 working days and I have seen a great deal about saving the file path to the database vs saving the actual document in the DB. The documents would be located on each users computer.
I have a Form with all the information that is required by the certification department. On the form is a button (Called InsertID(ID in this case is the persons Identity Docuement)) and the button is linked to a table called dbo_CertificationSupportingDocuments. The table is referenced to the Main Certificate Request table.
The dbo_CertificationSupportingDocuments table is structured as follows:
I am trying to design an unbound combobox whose rowsource can be dynamically set based on a union query in order to search 1000's of names returning each name that contains a user defined string. The search does not start until the user defined string reaches 3 characters in length.
There are more details in the attachment but basically the vba code I used all saves OK in the vba editor but I get a runtime error 13 type mismatch when the code attempts to utilise the query to populate the rowsource of the combobox.
The expression On Click you entered as the event property setting produced the following error: Procedure declaration does not match description of event or procedure having the same name
Now this is the error message that I am constantly getting from any command button I hit on a certain form. Here is the code of the form.
Option Compare Database Option Explicit Public inputCSV As String, ORG As String
I changed the names of the buttons, reconstructed the code under those names, went to the modules and changed names, made sure that a sub o function name is not duplicated in the project... But helas the error is still there. It used to work and suddenly does not work.
I got an error msg on form with closing. I have a main form (SalesReturnOrDamaged) and subform (SalesReturnOrDamagedSubform).
i have used a VBA code on main form Close Command button as per shown in Code Tag. But that is not working and shown an error msg as per screenshot. how to change that VBA code for empty form close without save the record?
Code: Private Sub Close_Click() On Error GoTo Err_Close_Click If Forms![SalesReturnOrDamaged]![SalesReturnOrDamagedSubform].Form![ItemCode].Value = "" Then Forms![SalesReturnOrDamaged]![SalesReturnOrDamagedSubform].Form![Product].Value = "" Forms![SalesReturnOrDamaged]![SalesReturnOrDamagedSubform].Form![MRP].Value = 0 Or ""
I'm creating a DB that includes a form that "Customers" will fill out. The form (CustomerForm) has text boxs that must be completed. I'm trying to figure out how to make sure all text boxes are filled out. I have already created a Input Mask and selected Required in the "Customer" Table. There is also a Username text box I would like to have validated that is is not already being used and two password text boxes I would like to have validate against one another to ensure it was created correctly. Once all text boxes are properly filled out I would like the Button to Save customer data, close CustomerForm and Open ShoppingCart. This is the code I have created:
Code: Option Compare Database Private Sub Log_In_Click() If IsNull(Me.CustomerFName) Then MsgBox "Please Enter First Name", vbInformation, "First Name Required" Me.CustomerLName.SetFocus
A user requested a change that would change the form header and detail back ground color to white when they click the button print record and then change the color back all in one click after the record prints. I keeping getting a run time error, type mismatch on the line where to code is to be changed. The colors are numbers not vbColors. I am using Access 2007.
I am currently creating a form which includes a command button to update a field in a table to show Today's Date, at the time of running a query I am still yet to write.
I have the following code for my Command Button, which is returning the Runtime Error 3464 (Data type mismatch in Criteria Expression):
Private Sub cmdAddTodaysDate_Click() CurrentDb.Execute (" UPDATE tblMyTable SET TodaysDate = " & Date & " WHERE tblMyTable.ProductCode = " & Me.txtProductCode) End Sub
The query above seems to be having issues matching the text from the 'txtProductCode' textbox to the table field 'ProductCode'.
I'm trying to extract information from Err.Description within a form's Error event. Alas, Err.Description does not seem to be available from there.I have a form that normally displays in DataSheet view. If a trigger on the Oracle back-end raises an error, I want my Access app to be able to parse out Err.Description and deliver a more user-friendly message than ODBC's message. I want to get the info about the message from the error coming back from Oracle, not by matching up error codes.
If I change the form to Single-Form view and put a Save button on it, I can capture Err.Description in the command button's Clicked() event, and then parse out what I need.So if I must display this form in Datasheet view, where can I trap the ODBC error and display my user-friendly message?
I am trying to create an INSERT statement from a form to put unbound fields in a table. The challenge that I am a getting is that I am getting a
Run-time error '3075' Syntax error in date in query expression '#'
What is really perplexing and perhaps something that may guide in identifying the culprit is that I have an identifcal form that uses the identical code and it works.
Here is the code below:
Dim strSQL As String Dim strCriteria As String strSQL = "" strSQL = strSQL & " INSERT INTO [tblTicket]"
I have a button in a form that brings the user to a table to add a new record. I want the feild of "dates" to be automaticlly populated with a value that is 7 days after the previous date in the field. the code i have currently is
Code: Private Sub Command14_Click() DoCmd.OpenTable "Cincinnati Time Sheet", acViewNormal DoCmd.GoToRecord , , acNewRec End Sub
I am new to Access and to the forum. I made a check printing system
table name = 'burgan' form name = 'burgan cheque' Fields = 'PV' and 'cheque' and 'Beneficiary'
I have inserted a button (Command31).The function I would like to add on clicking the button
1. it should chose the highest value in both fields (PV and cheque) 2. Create new record 3. Increment it by 1 (both fields 'PV' and 'cheque') 4. the focus should stand on 'Beneficiary' field.
I'm populating a report with a query which pulls criteria from a form. When the 'run' button is pressed it opens the report, running the query, to filter the data. What i'm attempting (and it works if there is data present).
The data is text, which is a filename, which populates an image control. Most of my records have an image present but for the ones that don't I think I need to turn the image control's picture property to 'blank'.
I'm just now encountering problems with the records with no pictures so when i came up with this it worked with my tests which at that time only had images present....
I have two problems.
1) When I run the code as below i get Run-Time Error 2185; you can't reference a property or method for a control unless the control has the focus.
2) when i try to set the focus on the picture control in the report to see if there is text/value present i get runtime error 2478; database doesn't allow you to use this method in the current view.
I assume this is talking about me opening the report in acViewPreview mode but i thought i needed to do this so the images are displayed in the image control.
Code: Private Sub Detail_Format(Cancel As Integer, FormatCount As Integer) Dim strDBPath As String Dim strRelativePath As String Dim strPath As String 'rptOriginalOwnerCategoryItem!Picture.Text.SetFocus [B]Me!Picture.SetFocus[B] 'Test to see if the record has a relative path stored
