Reports :: Access 2003 - Count Values Over Specific Amount In Report

Mar 16, 2013

In Access 2003 I have a form, at the footer of which I want to put some summary information. One of which is a count of the number of purchases over £500. I have tried many variations after searching the posts on this site but the only one which does not return me an error of some kind with the expression is

=IIf([Bought For]>"500",Count([Bought For]),0)

where 'Bought For is the reports listing of the purchase prices in a given date range when opening the report, but the value returned in my test is '0' when it should be '2' as the test file has two purchases of over £500.

Reports :: Report Not Displaying Data In Order?

May 17, 2013

I have a report that generates the position of certain items. When I produce this report it doesn't put the data in order. All associated data with that position is correct, it is just not in numerical order. The attached screenshot shows the issue I am having. In the position column it should read 1,2,3,4 but in some cases the positions are not in order.

Reports :: Google Map On Report With Specific URL Not Working

Sep 8, 2014

I want to show ( or print ) on a report a specific URL on Google Maps with the ActiveX control "Microsoft Web Browser".

I managed to use the Google API on a form to show the actual URL found with X and Y coordinates.

Now I'd like to show the same URL on a report to send to the customer as a reference. Is there a way to get this done?

I already put a ActiveX control (Ms Web Browser) on a report and used the same URLstring in the ActiveX control , but nothing is shown on the screen.

Reports :: Filtering Report To Specific Record

Jun 9, 2014

I work in psychological testing and I have created a database to store some data for our patients' test scores. I have a main form with demographics and then 5 buttons on the main form that open into 5 other forms (one form for each test). I also have created a button on the main form to run a Report; however, I would like to filter the report to only show the current record (e.g., Patient ID #1 only).

(Can this be done?) How should I go about filtering the report to show only the open record? Expression is preferred - I'm not very good with code.

I'm also assuming that since each form is linked by the primary key of Patient ID, I should be able to see all data from each form (main + 5 others) in the report for that specified Patient ID... (?)

Reports :: Edit Current Report That Lists Production In Week Number Order?

Feb 26, 2015

I've been asked to edit a current report that lists our production in week number order. I need to look at way we can 'flag up' orders that are within a 4 week period from the current date.

For example,

10 Orders in total in our database. 5 of which are due the drawings back within 4 weeks from today (26/02/15). I'm looking for a way for the report to show the 5 orders as priority, either by formatting the orders in bold, a different colour or under their own heading/group.

Reports :: Build Report That Only Displays Specific Data?

May 17, 2013

I have an excel spread sheet that is linked into access 2003 via a table. This spread sheet is updated by personnel in another location and I have to run a weekly report on engines stored in that table that are below a certain performance level. The column heading is MGT Margin and I have to list all of the engines that are below 20 degrees. Can I run a query that looks at this table and produces a report of all the engines that are only below 20 degrees? I currently have to cut and paste each engine from the updated spread sheet every week onto a separate spread sheet and import that into access to run the report. Can a query be used to run the required report? I have attached a screen shot of the query that I am putting together to try and run this report.

When I make the column graph the data seems to not be in any order. The report is in order by the number of days in ascending order.

How can I have the columns with the largest number show up first and the columns get smaller. I would like the largest column all the way to the left, proceeding the next one in size so it goes from largest to smallest.

Incorrect Sort Order In Access 2002 Report

Sep 30, 2004

I have a problem getting pages of an Access 2002 report to print in the correct order.

I have a report which prints one of four pages per record. The data source for the report was initially sql which retrieved records from 2 tables. The sql was working fine. The order of the records was set by the ORDER BY clause. ORDER BY ON is set to Yes. ORDER BY is set to a text field called SortKey. Because the report was not printing the pages in the correct order, someone suggested that if I create a table (I called it SortReports), make sure that the table is sorted by SortKey, and make the table the data source, it should work. But it does not.

The pages in the report still do not follow this sort order. I have also made SortKey the primary key field. No matter what I do, the report continues to sort by another field called SystemKey, as well as something else. I have been looking at Microsoft and other websites for a similar problem and solution, but no luck yet. Any ideas?

I would greatly appreciate any help, or a push in the right direction.

Thanks.

Opening Access To A Specific Report

Mar 21, 2006

Is there any way to put a shortcut on someone's desktop that will open a specific report in an Access database? I'm thinking back to the days of DOS when one simply added an argument to the command. I don't want to put it in startup and have it always go to that report. I just want non-Access users to go right where they need to without menus, etc.

Thank you.

Reports :: Subtract Totals From 2 Sub-reports In Main Report Of Access?

Dec 28, 2014

I am trying to create a P&L statement in access. I know what I want to come out at the end. I am just starting to play with access and having trouble getting what I want to come out of it.

On the sales side I have a query that gathers all the revenue sources and calculates a total for each date. I then use a second query to just take out the data I want for the P&L report. I created a sub-report that displays the data I want. I use the grouping and grand total features to get the total into the report footer. So far so good.

On the expense side I created a form of a query to manage the one to many relationship to capture the data for expenses (one purchase with many line items). I created a query based of this query to get the relevant data for my expense sub-report. I created the sub-report and got everything looking and calculating the way I want it to. I use the same grouping and grand total features to display the data in the report footer. Still good.

I created a new main parent report with the two sub-reports (sales & expenses) on it and even was able to pull the totals from the sub-reports into the main (so currently the subtotals of the two sub-reports are displayed twice). Now when I try to use the textboxes I used to pull the sub-report totals into the main report to perform additional calculations (sales - expenses) I get #error. I have tried different things and gotten ?name.

Control source for the two textbox controls on the main that display correctly, but don't let me do any further calculations.

=[rptP&LExpensesOverview]![AccessTotalsAmount]

=[rptP&LSalesOverview]![AccessTotalsTotal Sales]

To do the subtraction I have tried using the references above, as well as just using the names of the unbound text boxes in the report that bring the totals into the main report.

As a work around, I tried to build one query with all the data from sales and expenses, but can't "filter" based on date and get the data I want in the query results because the two sets of data are not necessarily related. I either get a long list of records, or no records (I am currently only playing with about 5 days of data).

Specific Sort Order

Mar 2, 2005

Okay, here's my new dilema. I'm in the military and rank is one of the fields in my DB. The only issue I'm having is that I would like to sort by seniority, not alphabetically. For Example, I've listed a few ranks below in the correct order from greatest to least. Is there some way that doesn't involve a page of code to achieve this? Thanks.

Colonel
Lt. Colonel
Major
Captain
1st Lt.
2nd Lt.

Queries :: Specific Sort Order

Sep 13, 2013

I have a query that is returning running conditions for a machine over multiple shifts. the table is set up like this

Code:
date shift parameter condition
09/13/13 1 front 500
09/13/13 1 middle 450
09/13/13 1 back 475
09/13/13 2 front 510
09/13/13 2 middle 460
09/13/13 2 back 490

this is just a small example. there are about 24 different parameters reported on in a shift..I want the query to sort by date ascending, shift ascending, and then by parameter in a specific custom that i define. I want it ordered "front, middle, back" for each shift. Again this is just an example, there would be 24 parameters I want in a specific order. Then do I need to define the sort order again for the report based on this query?

Tables :: Come Up With Automatic Line Numbers For Each Specific Order?

Oct 2, 2014

I am trying to come up with automatic line numbers for each specific order. So for example, I have job number 123456 that has ordered 3 items, what I would like is that item 1 has a field with a 1 in it automatically, and item 2 has a 2 in the field and so on. But the trick is that when order 123457 gets entered and has 5 items entered, I would like it to start over at 1 and go to 5. Does this make sense? Is it possible to do this in a table? Or can this happen on the form? That I assign a value to a field. I am using Access 2010, have been for a few years now, but I have lots to learn.

Queries :: Filtering Data - Results Need To Be In Specific Order

May 21, 2013

I'm taking my first database class and I'm working on a hospital project in which I need to determine which pair (one doctor and one nurse) has a decremental performance as weeks go on.

I have an "r" and "s" queries.

These are the fields:

r: [DOCID,NURSEID, WEEK, RESULT]
s: [WEEK, RESULT]

I would like to find what pair had a "Good" result in week 1, "Average" in week 2, and "Bad" in week 3. My problem is that the results need to be in this specific order.

The professor told us to use a formula and I got the solution after building 6 queries that involved union, difference, and cartesian.

Reports :: Sum In Access Report

Sep 9, 2013

I have a report generated by a query.

The query shows the total rent collected per property and the total expense per property. It then has a sum in it to work out the total profit - SUM(rent collected - expense paid.).

This works fine and the report works fine. But i want to add the totals in the bottom of the report.

So i have three unbound text boxes, one for each column. And the control source is

Sum([rentcollected])
Sum([expensepaid])

these two work fine, but then i have tried to work out the total profit but can't get this working. If i do Sum([profi]) this doesn't generate the real profit as it just totals the profit column which might have negatives.

If i put in sum([txtTotalRentCollected]-[txtTotalExpensePaid]) then when running the report it prompts for the values of the text boxes - these are the names of the text boxes the totals are calculated in.
