I currently have a database which logs issues that come in to me from the business. The database has been designed to keep all stakeholders informed of there request and for the user to write to the stakeholder with a responce through Access. (The reason for this is so the database keeps track of all responses sent back to the stakeholder.)
However even though i am using a memo box the database will only send about 255 characters and no more. I understand this is the max value for a text box however this should not be the case for a memo box.
Is there anything i can do i am currently using the following code:
I am currently updating an Access database, any way to send an OLE Object (in this case an Excel Spreadsheet) as an attachment to an email address using VBA code? I made a form that shows the Excel Spreadsheet when the record is brought up, but I need to know how to send just the Excel Spreadsheet and not the other information on the form.
Also, if there is an alternate way to have an Excel spreadsheet embedded into an Access form, i'm open to change. The user wants to be able to see the Excel spreadsheet and send it to their supervisor without having to locate the Excel spreadsheet on the hard drive.
setup a data base in Access that collects information from the attached spreadsheet pictures from A1:FO26...Spreadsheet is macro enabled and updates automatically with data.have tried to setup Access data base but when Excel Tab updates it copies over the data that was last copied into Access.
Can anyone suggest a good program that will handle scheduled emails to people in our Access database? I need to send an email automatically to each of our employees on their birthday. I need the program for much more than that but that is what I am working on at this time.
Hi, im currently working on a database which is for someone else. Whe it is handed over to them, they will no doubt want some changes done every so oftern eg new reports, changes to forms etc.
What is the best way to do this? The database holds a lot of data, so I dont think its feasible for them to send it to me via email everytime they need something changed!
Ive noticed a few posts here about splitting the database into a front/back end. If this was done, would they just have to send me the front end; this would probably be a smaller file ye?
If this is going to be the best way round the problem; how easy is it to split a database which is basically already made?

I have a number of Yes/No fields in my database (their default value is False), and I am looking to update these via one of my webpages via INSERT INTO... statement.
What I have is a checkbox on the page, with checked value as true, and then before the values are written to the database, for the unchecked boxes, it converts all empty check box values (ie the ones which have been left unticked) to false, so the INSERT INTO statement will either write true or false for each checkbox, like this... true, true, false, true
The thing is, on executing the code, it add all the other details fine, and hits no errors, but NONE of the checkboxes get updated... these ALL remain unticked in the database, so ignoring any true values which are written to it. Please can someone help, I would be sooo thankful ).
Beginner at ASP VBscript. Hi I'm trying to update a Access database through a form using ASP VBScript. Kind of lost. I've looked at some sites and they all have complex ways of doing it. CAn anyone help with a simple little example. say a table with firstname and second name.
I am making a website, and I am using ASP. In one of my pages, the script connects to a Access database, retrieves the information, and writes it to the page. I made some changes in the database, but they're not showing up on the page. Any suggestions?
I’ve recently added form functionality on my website, which runs with the aid of a perl script and sends the results via an email message.
I’m currently able to import, or link, data from a specific mail folder (Outlook 2002) to an MS Access database (Access 2002). However, my problem is the message body, which contains the data I’m interested in, is all placed in the one field.
I would like the data contained in the message body to be imported into separate fields but I have not been able to figure out how this is done.
I can arrange the data within the email message body to conform to a particular format if needed, even HTML, but I can't work out how to import the data into separate fields.
Tried searching this forum but couldn’t find the answers. Perhaps there is a better way of processing online forms, one which I’m not aware of.
My web service does support mySQL and also has ODBC dirvers for Access but this to me seems like an over kill approach particularly since I don't need access to data from the website (active pages)
I'm creating a contacts database in Access. My emails are saved on Novel's GroupWise (web-based, not a client application). My database is on my hard drive and contains the usual: name, address, preferences, etc.
Is there some way to link the actual text of a customer's email to the entry in my database that deals with that customer (for example, field 1= name, field 2= phone number, field 3= actual text of email)? If the web source is a problem, would there be a way to do it if I imported the emails to Outlook or Outlook express?
I’m a newbie here, so as usual it’s always followed by a plea for help.
I’m From Scotland (live in Engerland)
I used to dabble with access in 95 and I can see it’s changed quite a bit.
I need a logging system for keeping details of faults that we have passed to various departments/
When we send an email I want the guys in my team to update the database with what ever they have sent. (This willbe a cut and paste action)
I want the database to have each entry with the following format
============================= Updated by Jimmy at 19:33 on 27/7/06
I email John the following information:-
BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH
=============================
So everything in red above , is what will be pasted by the NEW Update buton, It will put the username , date and time of the update in between some other charaters (============) so that when we print the record as a report we can easily see all the updates as they will be between the dotted lines etc
So they are just update the same field all the time, appending data to the top of the record.
So maybe when the database starts it will ask the user his name, so that if makes any updates, it will use this name that he entered in. The date and time ect are the date and time, at the time of the new entry.
I made an example database and you can see a screenshot below:-
I need to let all our suppliers know we have moved and wanted to do this by email. how I use Access database of suppliers email addresses and use them on Outlook.
I have made a form based on a query that pulls information from 4-5 tables. I would like to be able to change information in those 4-5 tables by using that form, but I am unable to do it. I opened up the properties for the form and set "data entry" and "Allow edits" and "allow additions" and "allow subtractions" all to YES. That didn't help.
Is it possible to do this, since the form is based on a query? I couldn't figure out a good way to set up the form getting the information directly from the four tables. I'm not sure why it's been so difficult.
I have one table full of all of the various titles I have. The tables are related using those titles, and each table has a different sort of information for each record. So, the "main" table is "ALL TITLES," but when I go make a form, I can't get ALL TITLES to be the controlling table. It's very frustrating. But a query works beautifully--I just can't change anything.
(I would like to have the form be a "user-friendly" way for people to make changes.)
I have a requirement to send a email to individual clients via my access database 2003 . I am using the email address of the client in the current open form . I then created a query using the id to filter that particular client, this query then becomes my record set.The content for the email is held in a .txt file , On my c drive . Every things appears fine however the fonts that I select in the .txt file are not being use in the actual email body. I created a word document with my preferred fonts and copied and pasted them into the .txt file but on sending the email the selected fonts do not appear.
I have attached a demo of what I am trying to do . To test enter your own email in the email address field of the form . Note the .txt file is on the C:/ drive.
The query Q_CurrentJobs is a list of jobs to send to the tech for today. (These are open jobs queried).
I need to run this query on the report (R_CurrentJObs) and send the report to each tech based on their individual jobs. The jobs are connected to each tech by its TechID.
The report list the job information for each tech (JOb number, Location details etc.)
When I click the button to send the email. I want to email each tech individually based on the Q_CurrentJobs query using R_CurrentJobs. (DoCmd.SendObject)
I have a mainform in access with a subform (continous form mode). The subform's source is a query that has a criteria parameter that gets the values from a combobox in mainform.(list of projects) Combobox name= cmbProject
It works fine for some records (old records), so when I migrate new data into the table the comboxbox display the new data but when I select the record to be dispayed on the subform, the record or data is not in the subform, so the record is in blank.
I would also like to automatically attach on the server to this email. Such a file stored such as servernamesharefilename.pdf. Is it possible to do this?
I have a database too big to upload here at the moment, however i have a main data entry form that is based on more than one table, what i want to do is create an email form either as html or info point and have this form emailed out so that my colleagues can then fill in thus on its return add records to the database.
How I can insert the email address from 'Newemail' into my existing customer list 'masterlist' i.e. contact email of ID 1 and 3  ? I would like to ignore ID 4-5 from the 'Newemail' table. And I would like to keep ID 4 from the 'masterlist' table.
I am trying to figure out how to make a button that sends an email to a specific email address, containing the information from 1 row.
we have rows where we put the the address, the quantity and the time interval we can collect the packages in. these information have to be send to a trucking company. I want access to send an email to the trucking company's email address, and not a whole report of all the rows, but be able to choose to send row 1,2,3 etc.
I have designed a touchscreen input system using Visual Basic.net and this writes to an Access Database. Each Touchscreen has its database locally so it can still work even if there are Network problems.
Now what I would like to do is have all these local databases write to a central database say every minute but only write new records to the central database. The Central Database can either be Access or SQL.
