CLR's not registered as SAFE are disallowed on our Network. It appears that the key associated with the assembly (ISSERVER) may be able to link to the Service Master Key. If the service master key is created with a (CA) Certificate Authority, is it possible to create the SSISDB that accompanies the Integration Services Catalog as a SAFE assembly?

I am using SSIS 2008 R2 & SQL Server 2008 R2. When I run the package in bids it runs fine but when I try to execute this package from agent job I get the below error message. In the job execution options I tried using 32-bit runtime that didn't work either.

I've deployed a SSIS project (having some packages) on SSIS catalog and I've created a job to invoke the related packages. I'd like to query the SSIS catalog to get the info about the execution of the job to understand if it is completed with success.I've seen the tables internal.executions and internal.operations. Which of these two tables contains the more useful info about the execution job (f.e. the job name, the execution status)?

We run std 2008 r2. When I deploy and run a pkg from the catalog, how can I get that flat file system log we always instructed ssis to write to when we ran from the command line? I believe it was the /L param . Not sure at this point if i'll use sql agent or somehow employ task scheduler to kick off the pkg.

I haven’t seen information about the SSISDB catalog but just the “old/classic” deployment for SSIS package on a SQL Server through msdb in the Control-M Documentation.
I writing a new achitecture concept for this customer with the SSISDB catalog.

I have recently downloaded Orcas beta VS product and had no previous version of VS before. The install went clean and I have been able to generate Window apps and web apps with very little issues; however, I have one issue with running a web app using the "view in browser" option for checking an aspx page for validity. If I use the default Northwind database provided and generate an aspx form using the "DataSet" toolbox widget, the tool prompts for the datasource etc. required to generate the required code. I can select the Northwind database and select the desired columns from one of the tables. Once completed, I build the project (clean build) and then select the "view in browser" option to verify the results. The result is an error page indicating a server error ->

I created on odbc connection to an iSeries(as400) box and was successfull in displaying the table on the webpage! I looked into the web.config file and it appears that all the required XML data is present. Any help would be appreciated as I am fairly green when it comes the .NET world.

I have build a vb.net class that uses the AxMetadataServiceClient (MS Dynamics Axapta model store) this class works like expected in .net app.When I try to create this assembly in sql it fails with this error

Ported RabbitMQ over to .NET 3.51 over without the SYstem.ServiceModel dependencies.My SQL CLR Proc invokes rabbit to publish a message but then gets a DNS error because of limited permissions:

Im trying to register my CLR UDF in SQL 2005 using this code CREATE FUNCTION GetSomething() RETURNS INT AS EXTERNAL NAME MyAssembly.MyFunction.MyMethod When I run it against my DB I get this error: Assembly MyAssembly was not found in the SQL catalog of database MyDB Ive successfully registered my custom assembly in the DB (I see it under Assemblies folder), and Ive set CRL Enabled to 1 in my DB. This is the message I get trying to load the assembly into my database:

Assembly microsoft.oba.metadata.metadataaccess, version=1.0.0.0, culture=neutral, publickeytoken= was not found in the SQL catalog. (Microsoft SQL Server, Error: 6503)
I heard one opinion that said that it appears that SQL the CLR Hosted Environment tries to load the whole assembly dependency graph and doesn't find the dependent assembly in its catalog. That is consistent with the restriction of the CLR Hosted Environment not supporting managed code dynamically generated (

My questions are: what is microsoft.oba.metadata.metadataaccess and how can I preload it in SQL Server? Assuming the assembly lives somewhere in the server, is there a way to refer to it inside SQL Server without loading it? How is the SAP provider related to Office Business Applications Services (that's the only acronym I could find relating Microsoft with OBA)?

I have a database with deployed CLR assembly on SQL 2008. I recently took a backup for the database and restored it on SQL 2012 server. Everything worked fine except very strange working of CLR assemblies functions.The result of the function is very odd. It manipulates the numeric string and return the result. It is returning very strange result on SQL 2012 as compared to SQL 2008.Example SQL 2008 ManipulateString('1234') returns 2345 On SQL 2012 the same call returns 1155.I am also trying to deploy the same assembly to SQL 2012 server database. I have successfully register the assembly, but the database do not list the exposed methods.

To alleviate some of the package load time overhead application caches SSIS Application object and several instances of "pre-loaded" packages in ASP.NET Application context. As needed the code uses cached SSIS Application instance to execute "pre-loaded" packages. Is this thread-safe?

The dll read's an xml file and carries out some processing. I've run
the code as an console app and it works fine.

I work with February CTP of SqlServer 2008.
I have an Assembly with several UDTs inside. Version of assembly is 1.0.*
I use CREATE ASSEMBLY statement to register this assembly, and it runs without any errors. Then I rebuild CLR solution without doing any changes in source code. In that case the only difference between new and old assemblies is version (difference in fourth part of version).
Then I try to update assembly in SqlServer. I use
ALTER ASSEMBLY <name>
FROM <path>
WITH PERMISSION_SET = UNSAFE, UNCHECKED DATA
statement for this. Statement runs with error:
Msg 6509An error occurred while gathering metadata from assembly <Assembly name> with HRESULT 0x1.
I found the list of condition for ALTER ASSEMBLY in MSDN:
ALTER ASSEMBLY statement cannot be used to change the following:
The signatures of CLR functions, aggregate functions, stored procedures, and triggers in an instance of SQL Server that reference the assembly. ALTER ASSEMBLY fails when SQL Server cannot rebind .NET Framework database objects in SQL Server with the new version of the assembly.
The signatures of methods in the assembly that are called from other assemblies.
The list of assemblies that depend on the assembly, as referenced in the DependentList property of the assembly.
The indexability of a method, unless there are no indexes or persisted computed columns depending on that method, either directly or indirectly.
The FillRow method name attribute for CLR table-valued functions.
The Accumulate and Terminate method signature for user-defined aggregates.
System assemblies.
Assembly ownership. Use ALTER AUTHORIZATION (Transact-SQL) instead.

Modifying public methods of the user-defined type class, as long as signatures or attributes are not changed.
Adding new public methods.
Modifying private methods in any way.
But I havent done any changes in source code, so new version of assembly satisfies all this conditions.
What could be the reason for such behavior?
P.S. Ive got the same error, if I add or change any method in assembly before rebuilding.

"SSIS 2012 Catalog doesn't have option to give read access to SSIS Catalog to view package run reports" ... Any luck allowing power developers / operators access to READ the SQL 2012 SSIS Execution Reports without granting them SSIS_Admin or Sysadmin?
According to this link posted back in 2011 (w/ Microsoft's feedback in Nov 2011: "We’re closing this issue as “Won’t Fix.” At this point the bug does not meet our bar for resolving prior to SQL Server 2012 RTM. As we approach the SQL Server 2012 release the bar for making code changes gets progressively higher." URL....Regarding Permissions to SSIS Catalog, here are the findings. We can give access in three ways:
1. READ Access – We can provide a user db_datareader access. With this the user can see the objects within the SSIS catalog database, but cannot see the reports.
2. SSIS_ADMIN – Add the user to this database role in SSISDB. With this the user can view the reports. But it also provides them privileges to modify catalog information which is not expected. We can add it using below script EXEC sp_addrolemember 'ssis_admin' , 'REDMONDPAIntelAnalyst'
3. SYSADMIN - Add the user to this server role. This will make the user an admin on the SQL server. This is not intended. Is there any method available which will have provision to give read only access to see SSIS Catalog package execution reports and not having modify Catalog access.

We find that if we deploy the OLAP database with a different name on the test server, then regardless of how we change the connection string provided to the SSIS package that processes the cube, then the package fails to connect to the database. To clarify:
In development the OLAP database is called MyOlapDB and the source database is called MySqlDB. Both are on the same machine. When the the application is built and released for test, the test team install the databases on a replica of the production environment (i.e. web app on one machine, OLAP DB on another and SQL database on yet another). They also, quite rightly, implement the new test databases so they incorporate the build version number. So, MyOlapDB123 and MySqlDB123 are both from build 123.
This is when the problems start. Regardless of how the connection string is specified in the job that processes the cube, the SSIS integration package fails with the error:
[Analysis Services Execute DDL Task] Error: Errors in the metadata manager. Either the database with the ID of 'MyOlapDB' does not exist in the server with the ID of 'OurTestServer', or the user does not have permissions to access the object.
We have tried config files and job properties, but neither work. Also, simply attempting to run the package using the DTEXECUI does not work either.
Looking inside the XML of the package, we clearly see the ConnectionManager object which has the original connection string, which is
Data Source=localhost;Initial Catalog=MyOlapDB;Provider=MSOLAP.3;Integrated Security=SSPI;Impersonation Level=Impersonate;
However, editing the initial catalog here still does not solve the problem. Searching the XML for the string MyOlapDB reveals the OLAP database name in two other places - both within the object data of the two Analysis Services Execute DDL tasks.
Anyone know how to solve this problem without having to hack the XML of the package?

First off, let me just say that I'm a complete newbie to SQL Reporting Services, and .NET in general. We have a VB 6 application that is trying to launch an SRS 2005 report in a viewer window. This was accomplished by creating A VB.NET "wrapper" window that launches the report, and allows the report to be previewed, exported, etc. I did not write any of this.
The report is using a Shared Data Source, which points to a specific database. My problem is that the users can select which db they want when they launch the VB 6 Application, so I need to find a way to edit the connection string in the report to specify which database to use on the fly. I have the db name in the "wrapper" application, but I can't figure out how to pass it to the report.

Now for MS SQL Server 2005 Express I need .NET Framework 2.0 and the SQL Server 2005 doesn't work with .NET Framework 3.0
Can't install 2.0, get the message that 3.0 is already installed.

I managed to design an Integration service package,but the desired level of performance has not been achieved(i.e it is performing slow).
So I want to know what are the best practices for optimized solution .
In my package I'm exreacting data from XML file and Storing it in SQL server database with some processing dring data flow.
I'm using
1) Two Script Task Control -In these control,I m opening the connection to XML file through VB.net code and
iterating each record at a time.
2)Two OLE DB Command -Each fetched record from script task component is processed in OLEDB command through
stored procedure and then inseted into database.
3)One for Loop -This loop contains two script Task control and two OLEDB Command control,
(mentioned above),for fetching single record and inserting it in database.
4)One derived Column
5)One Multicast
6)One Character Map
7)One OlEDB Source
As with my current performance I'm able to insert one record in every .5 second (Which is much below to acceptable limits)
Is control lying disabled on SSIS designer pane also affect the performance of execution.

I am trying to get a function I created in VB 5 for Access and Excel to work in SQL 2005. I was able to update the old VB code to work in VB 2005. I compiled and made a .dll, and I was able to register the new Assembly in SQL Server. When I try to create the Function, I get an error:

I have no problem getting the function to work if I call it from a VB form....so what do I need to do to get it to work on data in my SQL server?

I previously had an ASP.NET 1.1 site running on my IIS 6.0 server (not the default website) with Reporting Services running in a subdirectory of that website. I recently upgraded to ASP.NET 2.0 for my website and was greeted with an error when trying to view a report. The error was very non-descript, but when I checked the server logs, it recorded the details as "It is not possible to run two different versions of ASP.NET in the same IIS process. First of all, I could not figure out where and how to do this. Secondly, I decided to try to also change the Reporting Services folders to run ASP.NET 2.0 and when I did, I was greeted with the following message when attempting to view a report:
"Failed to load expression host assembly. Details: StrongName cannot have an empty string for the assembly name."
Please help.

I am a bit paranoid about what I just did to my SQL Server 2005 with this CLR experiment.
I created a Class Lib in C# called inLineLib that has a class Queue which represents an object with an ID field.
in another separate namespace called inLineCLRsql, I created a class called test which will hold the function to be accessed from DB, I referenced and created an instances of the Queue class, and retrieve it's ID in a function called PrintMessage.

to access this from the db, I attempted to create an assembley referencing inLineCLRsql.dll. This didn't work as it complained about inLineLib assembly not existing in the db. I then attempted to create an assembley for inLineLib but it barfed saying System.Management assembly not created.
so what I did is (and this is where I need to know if I just ruined sql server or not):
1- ALTER DATABASE myDB SET TRUSTWORTHY ON;.
2- CREATE ASSEMBLY SystemManagement
FROM 'C:WINDOWSMicrosoft.NETFrameworkv2.0.50727System.Management.dll'
WITH PERMISSION_SET = UNSAFE
3- CREATE ASSEMBLY inLineLibMaster
FROM 'D:inLineServerinLineLibinDebuginLineLib.dll'
WITH PERMISSION_SET = unsafe
4- and finally
CREATE ASSEMBLY inLineLib
FROM 'D:inLineServerCLRSQLinlineCLRsqlinDebuginlineCLRsql.dll'
WITH PERMISSION_SET = SAFE
Everything works after those steps (which took some trial and error). I can create a sproc like:
CREATE PROC sp_test AS
EXTERNAL NAME inLineLib.[inlineCLRsql.test].PrintMessage
and it returns the Queue ID
Is there anything unadvisable about the steps above?

.NET Permissions Error in Reporting Services when not using a custom assembly:
I need help resolving a permissions error Im taking in a SQL RS 2005 report.
I have a report that that is includes the following code fragment in Report Properties -> Code:

When I run the preview in Visual Studio is correctly strips the RTF and displays just ** Ending Quote Comments **?. When I RUN locally or deploy to a SQL RS 2005 Server and run the report I take the following error:
Request for the permission of type 'System.Security.Permissions.UIPermission, mscorlib, Version=2.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b77a5c561934e089' failed.
Ive tried everything that I can think of on the server to make this work.
I finally put together a Win 2003 box with SQL 2005, IIS, and RS 2005 running on it in a virtual machine to be 100% sure I had a standard clean install and deployed the report and Im getting the same error.
Below Ive included a basic standalone RDL file that demonstrates my issue. I get the error referenced above when I deploy the RDL below. Any ideas or suggestions are greatly appreciated?
