When i run the merge agent i get the following error..in error detail.

server"

I need some urgent help. I'm managing merge replication between 12 servers. Today I had to make some changes in the database design, so I removed replication, altered the tables in question (on all servers)and created a new publication.
I choose the option that all subscribers have the data and the schema, but when I start the replication I get almost immediately an error "Invalid column name rowguidcol". But there is no column in my database with such a name. Further investigation brings up another message "xp_execresultset: unable to execute result set".
Can anyone please help me. The database should be ready by tomorrow.

Adding A 2nd Subscrber Makes My Merge Replication Blow Up.
Aug 25, 2006I have two machines running SQL Express that I am attempting to use as proxies for a client application as the security admin has deemed that outside clients can not connect directly to the main DB servers.
When I have one of the SQL Express boxes subscribed to my SQL 2005 standard server, everything is happy, but when I attempt to add the second SQL Express box as a subscriber, everything seems to blow up.
OK, I'm setup as a merge with updates and no filter since I want all of the servers to get all of the data. I'm also on a non-standard port but have my aliases setup, and I don't have any connection issues. When I run the subscription wizard from the management studio, it comes back with "Success", but about 2 seconds later, I get errors on both subscribers from the replication monitor. Oh, I am aslo setup for push subscriptions and am setup to run continuously.
Here is the error message from the rep. monitor.
Error messages:
No subscription is on this publication or article. (Source: MSSQLServer, Error number: 14050)

The merge process was unable to deliver the snapshot to the Subscriber. If using Web synchronization, the merge process may have been unable to create or write to the message file. What I find odd is that It only dies when I try to add a second subscriber, and then it kills both of them. Any help or ideas on where I should look would be most welcome.

Merge Replication ........urgent Help Required
Feb 20, 2001I am trying to do mearge replication with in our organisation. One server is located at server room(version 7.0) and it runs on NT server. Another server(desktop edition (version 7.0)) is at my desktop runs on NT Workstation. I am creating mearge replication from my machine making server room machine as Publisher and distributor and my desktop server as subscriber. But after creating replication when i view mearge agent job status it says that connection to my machine is failed. And because of this my replication is not working.
on both the servers "SQL Server Agent" service is running and i am also logging into both the servers with the same login with sa server role
I am getting following error in the "error details merge agent" dialog box
catagory -------------source -------------------------Number
Agent-------- "subscription server name" --------------20084
Data Source ---"subscription server name"-------------- 6
please help me if any one has solution

Urgent Help Required IN Merge Replication

We have one publisher and 100 subscribers. And Subscribers again act as re-publisher for 3-4 win CE (Handheld) based device subscribers. Now. We have already done the setup and it is working fine.
Now due to some change in horizontal filters set in the publisher, we have change in publication. NOw whenever I make any change in publication, it says all subscribers will be marked for reinitialization and snapshot agent will run and new schema will be applied whenever next time merge agent runs.
But whenever I run the merge agent, the snapshot agent fails saying invalid column ... . I am not able to revert the changes as the same error persists even after bringing the publication back to the original state.
To add to the complexity, we have also used dynamic snapshots between publisher and suscribers.
So, Can anyone please tell me how can I change the publication script without deleting the subscribers?Any pointers in this direction are really appreciated.

Merge Replication Problem ; Very Urgent
Oct 20, 2005We have a publisher and 2 subsribers. The subscribers are spanning 2 transactions/sec. We have inplemented merge replication and it was scheduled to occur every 5 min. When we start the replication, the replications is going on without any problem for sometime(may be some hours), but after that it failes with the message, "the process could not deliver inserts at the publisher". We have SAN. When I searched for this error in google, it asked me to increase the queytimeout value in agent profile. So I increased it from 300 to 600, but in vain. Mar 29, 2007I have two databases A & B which have a merge replication between them. Both are live data. I wanted to alter table in db A, so i deleted subscription and altered the table from db A. After that i rebuilt the replication between A & B with initialization but now my replication fails. Every time i get different error messages..recently i get message of 'Subscriber failed to initialize'. Could anyone suggest how to resolve this? Urgent please.

In trying to activate a merge replication between a Win2000/SQL7 distributor/publisher and a Win2003/SQL2000 subscriber I keep getting the following error:
Process could not enumerate changes at the subscriber (error 2812)
Merge publication works fine between the distributor and another subscriber (NT4/SQL7).
When i look at the details of the merge agent history i can see the process stopped with :
call sp_MSenumeratechanges(?,?,?,?,?)
I read article 308743 on microsoft/technet, and there they advise to install SP3a for SQL2000 on the subscriber. Ive done that but the error persists.
SQLServerAgent on the subscriber starts up with a local administrator account, the (physical) server itself is not a member of the local network; (outside the DMZ). The server is declared in the Client Network Utility of the distributor/publisher and is therefore known as a potential subscriber. In fact, the snapshot agent works perfectly (or so it seems).
Can anyone give me a helpfull hint?

URGENT Merge Replication: Missing Rows At Publisher And Subscriber: No Conflicts
Jun 9, 2006We have SQL Server 2000 with merge replication at a Publisher and subscriber.
We have some records getting deleted at Publisher and Subscriber and no conflicts are logged.
We have tried the compensate_for_errors setting and this has had no effect.
This is causing serious data corruption and has now become an URGENT issue. Out tech team are almost out of ideas.
Has anyone experienced this or have any ideas as to what to check next?

Suppose that you have a SQL Server 2005 database on your PC, and suppose that this database has a table with a column classified as "unique" (so it's impossible for this table to contain 2 records having the same value in this column).
Suppose that you publish this database and you create 2 SQL Server Mobile 2005 subscriptions on 2 Pocket PCs.
Suppose now that the first PPC (using an embedded program) creates a record with a certain value for the column (and adds it to the table), and the second PPC makes the same thing (it inserts a record with the same column value of the first PPC).
At this point, you connect the 2 PPCs to your PC (one by one, of course), to synchronize (using merge replication) the databases...
WHAT HAPPENS??? Does an error raise?
Must you give a publication setting in which you say that, if this situation occurs, PC SQL Server holds the last (or the first, as you decide) record acquired? Is it possible?

How To Add New Column In Table : Merge Replication

I have a table used in Merge Replication. If i add a new column in that table it gives me an error for tables in which either this table is a key or this table has key from other tables "Error validating the default for column 'rowguid'." Also for views i'm getting an error
"View 'dbo.vw_TestCaseBasic': indexes and schema binding will be removed."
If i proceed further i get an error and m not able to add the column.
"It is invalid to drop the default constraint on the rowguid column that is used by merge replication.
The schema change failed during execution of an internal replication procedure. For corrective action, see the other error messages that accompany this error message.
The transaction ended in the trigger. The batch has been aborted."
Is there any solution for the same?

Cannot Drop A Table On Two Servers After Merge Replication
Oct 3, 2001Hi,
I tried with success to replicate a table_test_repl from my local server to an other server.
I used only one table for testing.
After that, i can't drop the 2 tables a_test_repl (on my local server and the other : I've got a message 'cannot drop the table because it is published for replication'
What can I do? I need absolutely to drop these tables to keep a clean model
and I can't drop the database and try again.

It is working fine, I don’t like disturbe it but current requirement is addition of two column in one table which one as also use in merge replication.
How I can add aforesaid columns in table x, column name c1 numeric , c2 character?
What is impact on replication?

How To Add A Missing Index To A Table In Merge Replication?
Jul 23, 2005One of the table that is in a merge replication somehow is missing anindex. Strangely, only the table in one of the subscriber of the mergereplication is missing the index; another subscriber and the publisherof the merge replication don't have this problem.How should I add the missing index back to that table? My understandingis that making structural change on a table that is inmerge-replication is different from making change on a table that isnot merge-replicated. For example, when we need to add a column into atable that is being merge-replicated, we must add the column bychanging the attributes in the properties of the published article(table) instead of simply using CREATE INDEX command. I am wonderingwhether there is a similar restriction on adding an index onto a tablethat is merge replicated.I have already added the index back to the table anyway. From time to time, during syncronization I get the following errors at the subscriber:

After I refresh the snaphot at the publisher, these errors disappear and the syncronization is completed without any problem. And I can sync easy again week or two..
What is the problem?
What is the right solution?
Yep, I can continue to refresh the snapshot each time when the error appears, but..
maybe there is another approach?

The same tables in a different on a different SQL box (test) replicate fine, but on this box (production) they do not. Any idea what would be the difference in the two environments?
I suspect that the "dbo." part in the "alter table" is what it is messing up on... how can I tell SQL CE not to include that schema prefix?

Does The Actual Update Statement Of A Table Affect Merge Replication?
Dec 8, 2006Suppose your using Merge Replication.
2 Users in 2 locations issue updates to the same table. 1 updating 1 column and the other updating another column. Now in reality the actual Stored Procedure issuing the update statement is passed in all the possible columns that could change and builds an update statement that updates all columns even the ones that havent changed.
Will this break Merge Replications conflict tracking? Or does SQL Server 2005 Merge Replication pickup that in reality the 2 updates only in reality changed the values in 2 columns.

I know that adding a column using ALTER TABLE to add a column automatically allows SQLSERVER 2005 to replicate the schema changes to the subscribers, however, I would like to add a new column to an existing article that is being used for merge replication, however, I don't want this column to be replicated. Re-initialising the subscriptions is not a option. Help would be appreciated.

Since i don't have much experience on SQL 6.5 , i need your precious help in resolving this case .
Can somebody help me in this regard in a detail step wise manner ? Enterprise manager does not have facility to add new columns to an existing table in SQL 6.5 .
I want to add a Column called 'DM ' with datatype as 'bit' with size as 1 and as non nullable .

Merge Replication Set Off Transactional Replication
Oct 9, 2007I am working on bringing our disaster recovery site to be a live site. Currently we replicate to one of out servers (server B) with merge replication (from server A). Server A also does one way transactional replication form some table to several other servers including servers at the DR site.
This setup is not going to be fast enough for what we need so I am wondering if a table is receiving merge replication will the merge updates also replicate down the transaction path??
Example...
Server B update a row and merges to Server A. With this update them replicate (via transactional) to Server C??

But NOW its the time to deploy the project & I've to do it programatically........
i tried to use the default stored procedures like "sp_addmergepullsubscription ", "sp_addmergepullsubscription_agent ", "sp_reinitmergepullsubscription ", with respective parameters.
Then using replmerge.exe i tried to execute the batch file But could not succeed......
Can anyone guide me from the Basics ??? (i knw the Replication Architecture its heirarchy....but have NO idea of performing it Programatically......!!!!!!!!)
by BASICS, i mean......how should i execute the resp. stored procedures with what parametes & the order i should follow in order to successfully pull a merge subscription in SQL server 2000.
if a Sample code is mentioned as example, would be better for me to understand....

My production box is running on NT4.0,SP6, SQL Server7.0,SP2. We implemented Merge replication. Working fine last 7 months. Last weekend i disabled replication, Successfully removed Distributor and Publishor. After that try add new fileds but won't allowed me. It's give the error message. I Also found Some Conflict_tables found almost 20 tables. All system Tables. Can delete these these tables, if i delete any problem my database.
I added filelds many times but this time i got errors.
Please help me anybody.
Merge Replication
Jul 31, 2000I have just installed replication on our production server to Merge Replicate with a Laptop server that will travel from time to time. I have now noticed that we cannot add or change any fields or attributes on the tables which are being replicated (which are all tables in the DB). This is a problem because we are changing and adding columns all of the time. Is there a way around this issue like shutting down the replication service or something? I have been unsuccessful in finding a way around this other than removing replication while we make changes.
