I have a set of csv files and a set of Format Specification files for each of the csv files. I need to convert the csv files into another format of csv files as specified in the Format Specification files. All the columns of the input csv files do not have a mapping with the columns of the output csv files. How can I achieve this using SSIS ? This is an urgent requirement. Please reply asap. Thanks.

Currently, I am using the SSRS 2005 and try to toggle the report columns similar to Excel's column grouping function. Users can expand "+" / collapse "-" the columns in the render excel report. It works fine when I excute the tabular report in the web yet the toggle function is missing when I render the report to an Excel report. I am not sure the toggle function will only work for the row items or both as the excel report can keep the toggle function for the row items. Please help.

We will be getting a disk from a company that we have been working with that will have all our data on it in
MS SQL format. The problem is, that we do not have SQL anything here to be able to utilize our data!

The Calculation logic is lengthly and the number of records involved is huge.also, only the manager has authority to generate the Bill and rest of the team can view the bill report
So i cannot do the calculations while fetching the records, Bill has to be generated and stored. How do i write the query to fetch the data from the two tables "TripSheet" and "BillTripSheet" ? Please Help

A couple columns are coming in a double precision float, but some values have characters in them, but those values are coming out as null, even though I changed the datatype from float to unicode string. I have to map this column in teh report and should dipslay like above.I think if 0.00 is available then it should display as 0..If 1.0 is available then it should display 1.Any value that has postive number after the decimal should display all the values example : 2.25,3.75,5.06, So in general the solution to display values like 1.75,1,0 we should not dispaly 0 as 0.00 and 1 as 1.00 and 2 as 2.00 and so on...Any Solutions in terms of SQL query or SSRS expression.

The end result: -should retrieve columns and display the count for two different data sources that were added by personnel in a specific department.
Problem: results are returned but not accurate. The code below works just fine and returns the results for all spot buy orders added by personnel in the sales department. However, I want to add a column in the same report that also counts blanket orders from the exact same table added by personnel in the sales department. The database uses views (v) in lieu of dbo.
Parameters:
@Add_Date_From SMALLDATETIME='',

If I substitute COUNT(T4.PO_Type) AS 'Spot Buy Added' with COUNT(T4.PO_Type) AS 'Blanket Added' I also get accurate results for the blanket order. IE separately they work just fine. If I try to combine the two that is where the trouble begins.
What am I doing incorrectly when I try to add the criteria/code for the additional column to count the blanket orders?

when i m importing data from excel to Sql using DTS the column which has text content was not imported as same in excel sheet. whereas a special character is appearing in between the lines. the text field contains multiple lines but the conetent is imported in single line .
ex:

STATE
but i m getting imported

I need to get this data into an SQL table in the following form so I can use it to further manipulate the data and update several other tables. I am thinking that UNPIVOT or CROSS APPLY might be the way to go, but am not sure how to code it.
The desired output:

and so on ......
The spreadsheet has 2900 columns and 3500 rows so performance is definitely a consideration as well.
Hi, I have one column of data which is 15.678 but in the excel, i format it to 15.68 ( two decimal place, so in excel i should see 15.68), when i am trying to import the data from excel to sql server by using odbc connection, it still getting 15.678, how can i get the data from 15.678 to 15.68 ( what i see is wat i get). i want to import data from an excel sheet into a database. While reading from the excel sheet OleDb automatically guesses the Datatype of each column. My Problem is the first A Column which contains ~240 Lines. 210 Lines are Numbers, the latter 30 do contain strings. When i use this code:

when using Item(0), it just crashes for trying to convert a DBNull to a String, when using rdr(0).ToString() it just gives me no value.
So my question is how to tell OleDB that i want that column to be completly read as String/Varchar?

I am facing an issue, while exporting report to excel.
I have a report where some legends are being displayed on coversheet using matrix. The contents are fetched from backend.Some of legends have got too much of text while others don't have much.In matrix properties, I checked can increase/decrease to accommodate changes. When report runs in report viewer it shows correctly i.e. it adjusts its width according to contents but when same report is exported to Excel it doesn't happen so. The size of cell is not increasing dynamically, depending upon the data. User needs to expand the cell in order to view the data.
So, is there any option by which, we can implement data wrap functionality for matrix, when report is downloaded in excel format.
Your suggestion will be of great help.

I have designed a package that works perfectly well, exporting data to an excel file from an ole db source. The problem is that in the excel destination file, columns of data that originally were numbers, are formatted as text. It would be just annoying if it weren't because I use those figures in a pivot table that operates with them.
Any idea on how to tell Excel that those columns are numbers?

I am using 'SQL Server 2005 Reporting Service' in my project. I am using sub-reports in many cases. Whenever I export such reports containing sub-reports to 'Excel' format which is the major client requirement in our project, the exported excel file shows 'Subreports within table/matrix cells are ignored.'
Can anybody tell me the solution for this? If not possible in reporting service then is there any other way to get data in excel format?
