Use sp_configure 'user instances enabled' to generate user instances.
I get the above error when I attempt to add an SQL Database item into my VS (C#) project. I do not understand what needs to be done to correct the problem.

I have recently returned to developing a website using Visual Web Developer Express 2008. I want to store information in a database. I have SQL Server 2005 Express edition installed on my pc.
When I try to Add New Item -> SQL Database from VWD2008 by right clicking in the App-Data folder and completing the dialogue I get the following error message:
Generating user instances in SQL Server is disabled. Use sp_configure ‘user instances enabled' to generate user instances.
I have SQL Server Management Studio installed but do not seem to be able to resolve this issue.
My operating system is windows XP Home SP2.
Some guidance on solving this would be appreciated.

When I am in Visual Studio 2005, and I try to add an SQL database, I get the following error "generating user instances in sql server is disabled. use sp_configure user instances enabled to generate user instances." I installed a named instance of SQL Server 2000 and then i passed all my DB
of the 7.0 instance to the 2000 instance.
Then i removed the 7.0 instance, that was the default instance.
So at the moment there is only the 2000 version, but it isn't the default
instance
Can the 2000 instance become the default instance? (So that clients can
connect to it simply through computer name, and not creating an alias)

I have setup merge replication which successfully synchronizes with a group of desktop users using SQL Compact Edition.
However now I have setup Article Filters and when I attempt to regenerate the snapshot I get the following error:
Invalid column name 'rowguid'.
Failed to generate merge replication stored procedures for article 'AssignedCriteria'.
When I look at publication properties at the Articles page.. All my tables have the rowguid uniqueidentifier successfully added to tables and selected as a compulsory published column, apart from the table above "AssignedCriteria".. Even when I attempt to select this column in the article properties page and press ok, when I come back it is deselected again. ( The Rowguid column is however physically added to the table)
I have scripted the publication SQL and then totally reinstalled from scratch, including the database but for some reason it doesn't like this table. I remove the article filters, but still this "rowguid" is never "selected" in article properties.
We are using Uniqueidentifiers in other columns as well for historical reasons, but this doesn't appear to be a problem in other tables..

I use ALTER QUEUE statement to disable a Service Broker QUEUE then i see message -Service Queue is currently disabled every 5 sec in SQL server error Log. How can i stop this messages it is enought to see it only one time?

Service Broker is disabled in MSDB or MSDB failed to start. Server level event notifications can not be delivered. Event notifications with FAN_IN in other databases could be affected as well.
The system databases for both instances were restored using backups from another instance. How do I confirm if Service Broker is enabled or disabled and why would I get this message? Is it due to restoring master or msdb?

I am using the Centralized Asynchronous Auditing with Service Broker article example to set up my first Service Broker attempt. We want to start logging search criteria and search results for our product search page. We wanted it to be asynchronous and be stored in another dbase, this seemed like the perfect example.
I modified the example above to save into an Audit table we created and to read a custom message that I generated the XML for. I'm pretty certain that should all work. However, I didn't change much else but I can't get the message to send.
This is the error I'm getting in profiler:

When I run SELECT * FROM sys.transmission_queue I get this in the transmission_status:

Hi,This is probably a classic scenario with a shared dimension that weneed to use in different cubes, where all fact tables do not offer thesame level of detail. Dimension is snow-flaked.The cube that's causing me troubles was designed by marking the lowestdimension level Diabled and not Visible. This allows me to get rid ofone of the snow-flake tables (the one with the lowest level), thusallowing an INNER JOIN with the remaining table which has a level ofdetail corresponding to the fact table.When processing the cube, I get a 'member with key '[blah]' was foundin the fact table but was not found in the level '[blah]' of thedimension '[blah]'' that seems to indicate that none of my fact foreignkeys exist as primary keys in the dimension table. I'm using VS 2005 SP 1 on my first project with CE. I've recently run into the problem that if I do anything with my SDF file in Visual Studio I get the following error when I run the project (in debug mode from VS):
The process cannot access the file 'C:xxxMySDF.sdf' because it is being used by another process.
The solution is to close the project and reopen it however this is getting painful. Anyone else seen this problem?

Examining any of the above tables in SQL Server Management Studio does not reveal any duplicate column names. In fact, 'Customer_Merge_Custs' does not appear to be a column in 'Customer' nor does 'Pricing_Service_Extensions' appear in 'Pricing_Service_Layout_Detail'.
As an experiment, deleting the table 'Pricing_Service_Extensions' and regenerating did make the two associated messages go away.

I try to generate ad hoc reporting model for analysis services cube in reporting services.
in Management Studio I connected to reporting services, defined a data source to the analysis services database.
But If i try to generate model i get the error:
"While connection with a data source a mistake has appeared, or the query is invalid for the data source. (rsCannotPrepareQuery)(Report Services SOAP Proxy Source)"
Any ideas as to what may be the problem?

In Oracle the query runs fine. In SQL I am getting a "Line 10: Incorrect syntax near ')'." error. If I run just the nested portion of the query, there are no errors. It only happens when the first query tries to query the nested query. Can anyone help me get the syntax correct?

Should I disable IIS on SQL Server 2005? Is there any reason that I should keep it around? I know that it is necessary for reporting services, but our database servers are on a seperate server from our reporting server. We have reporting services running on a stand alone box by itself.

TLS 1.1 and TLS 1.2 are enabled on the computer and working fine for IIS. what I can do to get SQL Server to work successfully with TLS 1.2 or is it still just not supported yet?

the Mirror Server is not connected to the Witness Server.
Mirror Server and Wtiness Server are instances on one server.
I get this error:

In the SQL Profiler for the Witness Server I get "An error occurred while receiving data" Error 64.
In the witness server logs is nothing depending on this.
The connection between the witness and principal and the mirror and principal are all right. I have created User logins with certificates on the same way on all instances.
What can I do?

I set up amail profile for that user, and can send email via Outlook 2003.However, when I go to the SQL Agent Properties in Enterprise Manager,Mail Profile is disabled.I've restarted the services & even tried rebooting the server. In the line need, the field N_UNIT_PRICE has 329.78 but with the round of SQL Server 2K I have 329.779999999999997.

I can't transform the column in decimal or numeric data type.

and reports to crystal reports 8. when i opend directly in cystal reports and given data base connecting through oledb
