Error Loading SSIS Package - CPackage::LoadFromXML Fails

Feb 19, 2007

When I try to load an SSIS package via C# code I get the following error message:-

"The package failed to load due to error 0xC0010014 "One or more error occurred. There should be more specific errors preceding this one that explains the details of the errors. This message is used as a return value from functions that encounter errors.". This occurs when CPackage::LoadFromXML fails.
"

The code is pretty straightforward:-

Application app = new Application();

PackageEvents evts = new PackageEvents();

Package pkg = new Package();

Package pkg = app.LoadPackage("C:\Documents and Settings\dominic_s\My Documents\Visual Studio 2005\Projects\SSIS_Util\bin\Debug\DTS\Cleanup_Staging.dtsx",evts,true);

return pkg;

What's interesting is this error message only appear's when I Start Debugging (F5 in VS 2005). If I Start without Debuggging (CTRL+F5) I dont get this error message. I've tried almost everthing suggested by other posts in this forum related to the same issue but nothing seems to work.

Any help will be greatly appreciate...thanks!!!

SSIS Package Fails To Load With Error Loading Value &&<DTS:PropertyExpression ...

Jul 17, 2007

Good day all,

I am having an interesting SSIS problem where the package fails to load with the following error message:

Code: 0xC0010018
Source: {BE86A659-AB44-403A-9C89-3524821879E0}
Description: Error loading value "" DTS:Name="SqlStatementSource">"Select dbo.fnGetLastOpenExtract('" + @[User::in_ExtractName] + "') as eh_ID"" from node "DTS: PropertyExpression".

This very same package runs on our test server, but fails to even load on UAT server.

SSIS packages are the same on both Test and UAT servers (I compared not just dates and sizes - they are literally the same: byte-to-byte)
DTExec version is 9.00.3042.00 on both servers.
HKLMSOFTWAREMicrosoftMicrosoft SQL Server90DTSSetupVersion = 9.2.3042.00 on both machines.

This started to happen when the UAT machine was upgraded to Service Pack 2 of SQL Server 2005. Please note that the UAT server only runs SSIS packages and does not have SQL 2005 database engine installed. There is, however, an older installation of SQL Server 2000 on UAT machine (I am not sure if Test machine has it - will check tomorrow).

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Alex

Error When Loading SSIS Package

Dec 6, 2007

Hi all,

I have problem with SSIS. When I open my packages, I always get an error message which says like this:
There were errors while the package was being loaded.
The package might be corrupted.
See the Error List for details.

And, in error list, I get this error message:
Error loading DIM_BUSINESS_TYPES.dtsx: SSIS Error Code DTS_E_OLEDBERROR. An OLE DB error has occurred. Error code: 0x80040E4D. An OLE DB record is available. Source: "Microsoft SQL Native Client" Hresult: 0x80040E4D Description: "Login failed for user 'user'.".

But the package itself seems doesnt have any errors at all. When I try to run the package, it runs fine.
Btw, I use package configuration which is stored in sql server table, including the password for connectionstring.

So, what's actually wrong with my package?

Thanks

Load A SSIS Package Via Web Service: The Package Failed To Load Due To Error 0xC0011008 Error Loading From XML.WHAT IS THAT?

May 19, 2006

Hello,

I have a big problem and i'm not able to find any hint on the Network.

I have a window2000 pc, VS2005,II5 and SQLServer 2005(dev edition)

I created an SSIS Package (query to DB and the result is loaded into an Excel file) that works fine.

I imported the dtsx file inside my "Stored Packages".

I would like to load and run the package programmatically on a Remote Scenario using the web services.

I created a solution with web service and web page that invoke the web service.

When my code execute:
Microsoft.SqlServer.Dts.Runtime.Application.LoadFromDtsServer(packagePath, ".", Nothing)

I got the Error:
Microsoft.SqlServer.Dts.Runtime.DtsRuntimeException: The package failed to load due to error 0xC0011008 "Error loading from XML. No further detailed error information can be specified for this problem because no Events object was passed where detailed error information can be stored.". This occurs when CPackage::LoadFromXML fails.

The error message doesn't help so much and there is nothing on the www to give me and advice....

Is it a SSIS problem???

Thank you for any help!!

SSIS Job Fails For Package Containing Script Task With Error The Script Files Failed To Load.

Apr 10, 2006

I have developed a SQL Server 2005 Integration Services (SSIS) package that includes a Script Task on a 32-bit machine.  The PrecompileScriptIntoBinaryCode property is set to True.  After I build the package, the .dtsx file includes a <BinaryItem> element for that Task.  Package runs fine on the dev machine, both in BIDS and as SQL Server Agent job.
When I deploy the package to a 64-bit server, it runs fine when I execute the package ad hoc from SQL Server Management Studio.  However, when I schedule the package for execution as a SQL Server Agent job, the package fails with the message: "the script files failed to load."
I have reviewed posts on this error from late 2005, but the solutions don't work in this case.  Specifically:
1. The Precompile property is already set to True.
2. I have already verified that the script was compiled.
Any further suggestions?

Long Time SSIS Package Loading

Sep 7, 2006

I load SSIS package using following code:

Application app = new Application();
Package pac = app.LoadFromSqlServer(packageName, serverName, null, null, null);

For simple package containing 2 tasks this code executes about 20 seconds.
If I load old version (SQL2K) package from SQL2000 then it takes 5 seconds.

Is any way to increase loading speed for SSIS packages?

Assertion Failed Message Loading SSIS Package In Vb.net

Sep 21, 2007

I have SSIS packages created to import .xls files into sql tables. I now have vb.net code within which I am trying to execute individual packages whenever my code notices the .xls files being deposited within a network folder. When I try to run my code I get the error message:

Assertion Failed:Abort=Quit, Retry=Debug, Ignore=Continue
at STrace.ReadTraceValues()
at STrace..cctor()
at STrace.Trace(String strComponentName, String strLine)
at ManagedHelper.GetNextManagedInfo(DTS_Managed_INFO&nextManagedInfo)

here is my code:

Sub RunPackage(ByVal pkgCMD As String)

'

Dim app As New Application

Dim pkg As New Package

Dim pkgResults As DTSExecResult

'Dim pkgevents As IDTSEvents

'

pkg = app.LoadPackage(pkgCMD, Nothing)

pkgResults = pkg.Execute()

The error occurs during the pkg=app.LoadPackage(pkgCMD, Nothing) statement. Any idea of how I determine why the SSIS package will not load thru my vb app? It runs fine if I load the SSIS package in SSBIDS.
Thanks for any help or guidance.

Problem Loading And Executing An SSIS Package With Too Many Lookups In BIDS

Nov 29, 2007

I have an SSIS package with around 25 lookups. Developing the package itself was slow. Now, everytime I try to load the package it takes forever and whenever I execute it I get an error.

Here are my questions:

1. Is there a way I can optimize the package?
2. Is it abnormal to have so many lookups? I am loading a dimension table with many fields and I need to look up on 25 tables to get the keys. I know one alternative is to use left joins in the source query and get the keys in the Source itself but we can have more visibility of what's happenning with Lookups. I would like to know other possibilities with lookups.

Thanks,
Srini

Error Loading Package

Dec 20, 2006

Hi there all...

We've just started using SSIS packages, and everything seems to be going ok.

I've recently set up a couple of jobs which just run an SSIS package every 5 minutes to collect data.
These run fine 90% of the time, but intermittantly produce an error.

When using a SSIS task in the job it simply reported
"Could not load Package."

I have changed these to use DTExec as I heard it gave more verbose execution results, and now I get an error like
"Executed as user: NZSQLAdmin. Microsoft (R) SQL Server Execute Package Utility Version 9.00.1399.06 for 32-bit Copyright (C) Microsoft Corp 1984-2005. All rights reserved. Started: 8:25:00 a.m. Could not load package "MSDBRadiusBillingGet_RADIUS_AuthLog" because of error 0x80040E37. Description: Table/view either does not exist or contains errors. Source: Microsoft SQL Native Client Started: 8:25:00 a.m. Finished: 8:25:00 a.m. Elapsed: 0.047 seconds. Process Exit Code 5. The step failed."

So far I have not been able to find anyone else with similar errors.
Whenever the package executes it seems to run fine, so this seems to be an error just getting the package to execute in the first place, and as I said it only happens internittantly.

The packages talk to a SQL2005 server using windows authentication (which I assume is inherited from the SQLAgent service user), as well as a MySQL server through an ODBC connection.
The package is saved in the MSDB SSIS Package Store and uses the "Rely on Server for Security" option

Does anyone know why this is happening and how I can fix it?

SQL Server 2008 :: SSIS Package Loading More Than 25000 Rows Using Excel ACE 12 Driver

Jun 1, 2015

I have a SSIS package running well in production however sometimes the package will fail when the excel file contains more than 25000+ rows.

The SSIS package is run by SQL Server Agent and is set to run in 32bit mode.

I checked the data by loading in batches and all data loaded successfully. But the funny thing is when I run the same package on my local development PC using BIDS and the same data file. The package loads all 25000+ rows successfully.

Is there some setting that is preventing all rows loading in the server environment.

However when I try to run it I get the error below. This error happens during the "Execute Package Task" and the path the error is pointing at is my local development path, not the one it was deployed to. Is there any way to fix the path? And how can I get it to deploy both packages so it knows where they are when I run it from the server?

SSIS Package Fails As Scheduled Job

I have a SSIS package that consists of 3 Script Tasks, two Data Flow Tasks. Each script tasks executes a FTP command. The first one renames the file, the second gets the renamed file and third resets it back to original name for testing.

When I run via BIDS or DTSExec all work fine. When I schedule it, only the first script runs. It never downloads the file.

Setup - SQL 2005 SP2, SSIS is running, 32 bit OS, SQL Agent Account is local admin. Package protection level is DontSaveSensitive. PrecompileScriptIntoBinaryCode = True

What am I missing??

I've got here a strange Problem. If I try to execute the SQL Server Agent Job, that executes my SSIS Package, it fails. The job succeedes when I run the Job as the Proxy, that maps on the User, that has deployed the Package, or when I run the Job under an System Administrator Proxy. Now my Question - how must I set up an Service-Account, which is no Admin and not has deployed the Package?

I already know, that the User has to be in the sysadmin role, and in all msdb SQLAgent*

The SSIS package contains one "Execute DTS 2000 package" which is written in SQL server 2000. The DTS written in SQL server 2000 and then i made the SSIS package for the same to be executed as "Execute DTS 2000 package" BUt the package execution fails.

I have seen some workaround also for same where it was saying to install some dll files for SQL server 2000 Meta data services. SQL server 200 meta data services is required for running DTS packages in SQL server 2005 server.

I installed that also but still the same error.

I have done all but all in vain.
Your help will be very helpfull since this is the production issues.

Error Connecting To SSIS - Error Loading Type Library/DLL

May 20, 2008

Hello,

I recently joined a company that is having an issue connecting to SQL Server Integration Services on one of their production servers. When trying to connect via management studio, both locally and remotely, they receive the error below. The server is a 64 bit server and is using third party replication (Veritas).

It sort of sounds like the issue described in this knowledge base article: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/919224. However, we do not have a problem creating maintenance plans. I'd just give it a shot but its a production server and getting approval to do anything that modifies the registry with the registry replication setup is a pain, so I'd like to determine if there could be another cause first.

We are running SQL Server 2012 SP1 64-Bit EE on Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1. I have a SSIS Package which connects to a FTP Site and downloads a file. Then it truncates a table and loads the file data into a table. This package works okay when executed from within VSS and SSMS (In SSISDB, right click on the package and execute). However, when I execute it as a Job it does not run and appears to be failing on the first task which is the FTP Task. SQL job step - Type: SSIS Package; Run as: SQL Server Agent Service Account (domain account called playuser); Authentication: Windows Authentication.In the All Executions Standard Report for the SSISDB Catalog, it only says: FTP Download File: Errors: There were errors during task validation.

Is this because my domain account does not have access to the FTP Site?Is this where I need to come up with a Proxy Account with Credentials?Do I need to set up a SQL Server Login (Proxy Account) with the same username being used in the FTP Batch file?

Executing SSIS Package From Agent Fails

Feb 7, 2007

Hi,

I have an SSIS package that utilises a 3rd party ftp program to transfer files (over HTTPS). This software stores details in the users profile relating to addresses, user names and password for transfers. As this is the case the Package needs to be executed by the domain user who has the details set in their profile. The package needs to be executed at a scheduled interval - so I have set up an Agent job to do this, and have the the 'Run As' setting, as a proxy which maps to the required domain user.

The package works fine when executing manually when the required user is logged in. If, however, the user is not logged in - ie when the job kicks off at the schecduled time, the file transfer fails. On debugging I can see that the agent job does not load the user's profile -but instead uses the 'Default User' profile.

The job owner is set as the same domain user that the Run As setting for the step is set. The SQL Server Agent services runs as a different Domain user.

Has anyone else had similar problems - Are there any extra permissions I need to set?

cheers..

Ssis Job Fails With Package Execution Failed

Jan 30, 2007

Hi,

I have a dts package migrated from sql server 2000 to sql server 2005 clustered server using migration wizard without any problem.

I have created a new job on sql server 2005 and one of the steps involves executing the SSIS package. It keeps failing with the error message "package execution failed". I have logged in here as a domain administrator (as also a local administrator).

I followed Article ID: 918760 but did not help.

I need this to be resolved asap.

Any quick help, much appreciated.

Thx

Murali

SSIS Package With An FTP Task Fails When Scheduled

May 7, 2006

I have a SSIS package with an FTP task to download a Excel file and populate a table using an excel connection mnager and a SQL Server Destination and it always fails with the following error when scheduled:

The job failed. The Job was invoked by User sa. The last step to run was step 1 (FTP-DM-CRN_ALLOCATION_COMMENTS).

Executed as user: WEB-INTSQLSYSTEM. The package execution failed. The step failed.

The box on which SQL Server is installed is on a workgroup on the domain and the SQL Server is started up by the Local System user on the box.

I am thinking this has to do with windows security based on all the information that I have read on these kind of error messages. Any input on resolving this will be much appreciated.

Thanks,

MShah

Error In SSIS While Loading Data

Jan 25, 2008

Hi,

I am trying to load data from one database to another database with in same sql server.Our DBA has created a new db and I am trying to load data in to this new one.But I am getting error in SSIS packages while scheduled as job. The failed job history was not showing much information So I ran the package dirently to get more info on error message.

I was able to transfer around 5 to 6 tables . But I am unable to transfer the final 2 tables. I am thinking its a space issue. Appreciate if somebidy can explain what the real problem is ?

Below is the error information I got in SSIS

SQL Server Agent Fails SSIS Package Execution At The End.

Oct 1, 2007

I have an SSIS ETL Package that runs perfectly in debugger.

It is saved to the local SQL Server using "rely on server security".

The SQL Server Agent job runs at night and the job fails right at the last step. It is actually loading the data, because I write a record with row counts to an audit table, and they are successfully incrementing.

The real issue to me is that it is failing randomly, sometimes it will run 7 times then fail once, others it will go 2 or 3 days then fail. The job runs at the same time every night, and takes within a minute or two variance.

I've looked at the logs, and done a trace, and I can't seem to find anything that would cause the failure. The closest thing to an error is a join parameter note in the trace that's on tthe MSDB database.

Not a lot to work with, I know... but does anybody have any advice for me? Thank you in advance!

SSIS Package Fails/Does Not Complete Without Reason, Likely Due To A .NET 2.0 Exception

Feb 8, 2008

I have searched extensively and not been able to find a solution to this problem.

The problem:
We have one SSIS package will sometimes 'finish' executing (or crash from a .NET exception) when it certainly has not made its way through all of the data flow components. There are no SSIS error messages, no warnings, and it never happens at the same location in the package's pipeline. The only thing that is instantly visible is a command window that flashes on the screen and disappears too quickly to see anything,.

Sometimes the package does actually complete without any problem, but most of the time, it does not.

What we see:
If the packages is being run through the "Execute Package Utility" (by double clicking the dtsx file), after a bit, a command window flashes on the screen and instantly disappears (no text is visible), then the €œExecute Package Utility€? disappears. The event viewer of the machine then shows:

Source: .NET Runtime 2.0 Error
Category: None
Event ID: 1000
Type: Error
Description: Faulting application dtexecui.exe, version 9.0.3042.0, stamp 45cd726d, faulting module dtspipeline.dll, version 2005.90.3042.0, stamp 45cd721f, debug? 0, fault address 0x00019a66.

If the package is running within visual studio, again the command window flashes on the screen, then the "Execution has completed" prompt appears, but any "running" component remains Yellow (no red), both within the data flow and control flow (we do not have any event handlers set up). Neither our SQL Log provider, nor the "Execution Results" tab in visual studio show any type of error message... all SSIS messages just stop right in the middle of the many OnPipelineRowsSent log events (so there is no PackageEnd log event when this happens). The event viewer on the machine contains no useful messages when running within visual studio.

And other packages:
Are fine. This is only the case for this one package... we have nearly a dozen other packages, all very similar in design, that complete without issue.

We have also tried re-creating this troublesome package from scratch with no avail.
<!--[if !supportLineBreakNewLine]-->
About the package:
The Data Flow is pulling rows from 3 different external SQL data sources (400k-500k rows total), sorting and merging the rows, performing some basic lookups, then SCD'ing the results. This Data Flow is executed multiple times within 2 nested for loops (these nested loops give us particular dates, i.e. years 2000 through 2008, then months 1 through 12 for each year). There is not a single script task in the package. The problem seems to happen most as the data is being pulled from the sources and merged together, but it is not limited to this area.

<!--[if !supportLineBreakNewLine]--><!--[endif]-->
The environment:
We€™ve tried to use multiple machines with the same result. The current machine specs are as follows:
SQL Server 9.0.3042 (SP2)
Windows Server 2003 R2, Enterprise x64 Edition, SP2
3.00GHz x 16 processors, all 64 bit
63.5 GB of RAM
Over 1 terabyte of hard disk space
.NET 2.0.50727.42

The package was designed using:
Visual Studio 2005 with SP1
Microsoft SQL Server Integration Services Designer - Version 9.00.3042.00

Anyone have an idea? Thanks in advance.
