Error While Viewing Reports Unable To Locate Control SSRS 2005: OReportCell
Apr 30, 2007
Hello Friends,
I have created few reports in SSRS 2005 on Windows 2003 Standard. Previouly I was not able to view reports from my .ASPX page which contained a ReportViewer, after going throuhg some other threads I was able to create a snap-shot for my reports . But still I'm not able to view reports, each time I try to view the page I get a message box with a error as : "Unable to locate control SSRS 2005: oReportCell" the same error is displayed when i try to access my reports from "http://localhost/reports.....".
But the funny thing is I'm able to view the reports when I use the following URL: "http://localhost/reportserver/pages/reportviewer.aspx?/<report>". I have applied all the Hotfixes & installed the latest Service packs. Any suggestions ???????
I have been using the reportviewer control to display my ssrs reports. However, i'm facing issues in displaying Server reports in the control. The following error show up whenevr i click on View Report.
Execution 'aaxe3ke5k34l5355qbup0rvo' cannot be found
Please help if anyone has come across something similar
Hi everybody, first i am having problem viewing the reports, when i go to http://localhost/ReportServer/ i get a list of files and folders as follow: [To Parent Directory]

See the error log for more details. (rsInternalError) Invalid object name 'ReportServerTempDB.dbo.PersistedStream'.could anyone help me please?? thanks in advance....
When trying to open the reports server \servername eports we are getting an error page titled "Server Error in '/Reports' Application." The server has been restarted, and as this is a new deployment, there has been very little access for individuals to make changes.
We have sql 2005 setup pulling sharepoint list data and we have created a report from this data. We can view this report through sharepoint internally however when we try to view the report externally we cant view it?
I have built the reports that I need using Visual Studio and the SQL 2005 Reporting Server, but now I need a way to view the reports via a web browser.
I am not much of a web/programming expert, so any help that could walk me through the process of publishing the .rdl files that I have created via a web browser would be much, much appreciated. Again, I am a novice in the the web arena, so the more straight forward the steps the better.
I have an reporting services (SSRS 2005) installed locally and I am trying to access it locally through : http://localhost/reportserver, but all I get back is this page.
localhost/ReportServer - /
Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services Version 9.00.3054.00
Also when I try to connect to reporting services through SSMS I get the following error message.
Cannot Connect to Server ServerNameSQL2005
Unable to connect to the remove server (Microsoft.SQLServer.Management.UI.RSClient)
No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it(System).
About my set up, I have SQL Server 2005 (SP2) installed in a named instance called SQL2005, I have reporting services set up to run under local system and I have gone through the RS config tool and everything in there appears to be correct. U double checked in IIS that the report server folder is "ReportServer" and not "ReportServer$SQL2005". I have set up full read write permissions to all the virtual directories, to my domain account which is also a local administrator. The user logs in under windows authentication (marked in the directory security tab in IIS, for the virtual directory & the default website).
Whenever I start the service however I get the following errors in the windows application log:
Report Server (SQL2005) cannot create the trace log C:Program FilesMicrosoft SQL ServerMSSQL.3Reporting ServicesLogFilesReportServer__05_15_2008_10_27_52.log.
Also I am unable to deploy my SSRS 2005 project from BI studio with more errors, I get the following exception thrown in a windows. (I am trying to deploy to the root "ReportServer" folder, not a sub folder.
A connection could not be made to the report server http://localhost/reportserver.
System.Web.Services.Protocols.SoapException: Server was unable to process request ---> System.InvalidOperationException: Unable to generate a temporary class (result=1) error: CS2001 "Source File "C:WindowsTempc-zsc7th.0.cs" could not be found.....
I don't have sharepoint installed, I do have the dashboard designer for Performance Point Server 2007 installed though.
I have been on this thing for hours, I have tried appending "$SQL2005" on to the end, stopping and starting RS Service multiple times. Change all the permssions in IIS so that the user can full control over the IIS virutal directory. I am at a loss at what else I could try.
Is it possible to write SSRS 2008 reports to run on an existing SSRS 2005 server?
If yes, what do I need to do to be able to write SSRS 2008 reports on my developer PC that will run on the SQL 2005 Server (which also has SSRS 2005 installed on it)?
I installed Visual Studio 2008 beta on the development PC and it appears that it needs SSRS installed on it too. So I installed SQL 2008 SSRS (SQL Server Reporting Services) and SQL 2008 Workstation Components onto the developer PC. Next I run the SQL 2008 "Reporting Services Configuration" tool. When I click on the "Web Service URL" section it hangs indefinitely and I have to force it closed.
The developer PC is Windows Vista Business.
Any suggestions on making this work, or any other information that you can think of that would allow me to use Visual Studio 2008 and the SQL 2008 "Report Designer Preview" tool to develop SSRS reports that will run on the SQL 2005 SSRS server?
I am creating a table on the fly and then trying to associated the table inside of a cube, using vbs script. For some reason I get a table not found error when I try and open the cube, but when I look at the SQL server I am able to see the table and I can insert the table via analysis manager, but I get Unable to retrieve the list of columns for the <table name> table.
Any Ideas why I am not able to add the table from the analyzer?
I have installed JDE E1 Demo to my computer, which use SQL Server 2000. And the OS of my computer is Vista Home Prerium.
When I start the JDE, I met an error message, "Unable to locate security server". Cause this version of JDE could be running on XP, I guess if the problem is because of the combination of Vista+SQLServer2K.
I have checked that IIS is ok installed, the computer services are started automatically. But I have one strange phenomenon that after computer started, it seems that the SQL server service manager couldn't find the right server & service, so that server couldn't been started automatically.
Could you make some sense and show me some hint about this problem? Or could you tell me how the SQL service manager find the the server and service?
I have installed SQL Server 2005 in my computer but in different root, in addition.
Why isn't there some documentation on how to do this. This should be really simple and it has taken me 2 weeks and I still haven't gotten an answer. Please Help Does anyone know the answner or some place where there is some documentation!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We have recently upgraded our .Net web application from a windows 2003 server to a windows 2012 server. Since this happened users that are trying to print a reporting services report is getting the error "Unable to load client print control". We are using reporting services 2012, but the application is using the 8 version of the viewer. The reporting services server did not change only the application server. The code for the application did not change.
I am trying to locate my SSRS log files to troubleshoot some report problems.
I run Microsoft Visual Studio when designing reports using Report Designer, from a local installation of MSSQL Developer Edition on my notebook. The data source I work on is on a remote SQL Server.
I expect to find the SSRS Log Files on my local installation but I am having trouble locating it.
I am having Windows 2012R2 Std with SQL2012SP2. Trying to add SQL cluster node2 but unable to locate the instance name when I click on drop down button.Understand that SQL Server Agent is required but it is not listed as cluster resource. Therefore, I perform the followingFrom Windows Power Shell with Administrator rights
1. Import-Module FailoverClusters 2. Add-ClusterResourceType "SQL Server Agent" c:windowssystem32SQAGTRES.DLL
Error: Add-ClusterResourceType : Unable to locate the cluster service executable on node1.The network name cannot be found. No problem to ping all cluster related names as well as fail-over to and from next available node.
Is it possible to translate the web report viewer control to another language (german, french...)? I need to integrate the control in a multilingula website.
I need also to change the messages from the report during the rendering "Report is being created".
And is it possible to change the little green animated icon during the process of creating a report?
I am trying to reorganise the log files on a server, (long story short they are fragmented so I want to shrink and reset the initial size and growth) and I am unable to shrink them. When I run the following:
use test DBCC SHRINKFILE(test_log, TRUNCATEONLY) --or use DBCC SHRINKFILE(test_log,2, TRUNCATEONLY)
I get the following message:
Msg 8985, Level 16, State 1, Line 1
Could not locate file 'test_log' for database 'test' in sys.database_files. The file either does not exist, or was dropped.
I get this message for every database on the server. I got the logical name of the file using sp_helpfile and have checked it against sys.masterfiles, sys.database_files and sys.sysaltfiles, all match up and confirm the name 'test_log'.
I rebooted the server last night and was able to shrink the first couple of .ldf's I tried so I presumed it was fixed. This morning when I try again i get the sanme error, I don't see anything in the SQL server or system logs that indicates a change.
I am able to add new log files and remove log files, however if I add a new log file (test_log2) and then try and truncate that file I get the same error.
Hi All, I am placing a Matrix inside the table control for grouping requirements, but when we export the report to the Excel, the contents inside the table cell are ignored. Is there any way to get the full report exported, as per the Requirement. Please help me with this issue.
Hi, I really need some help trying to figure out why my gridview is not working when I create a custom sql statement. It "executes" the query, but gives me an error message when I "test the query". Here is the error message: "There was an error executing the query. Please check the syntax of the command and if present, the types and values of the parameters and ensure they are correct. Syntax error: Expecting '.', identifier or quoted identifier." Here is my sql statement: SELECT TBLPROJECTS.NAME, TBLPROJECTTYPES.NAME AS PROJECTTYPE, TBLPROJECTS.DESCRIPTION, TBLUSERS_1.LOGIN AS OWNERNAME, TBLUSERS.LOGIN AS MANAGERNAME, TBLPROJECTS.START_DATE, TBLPROJECTS.END_DATE, TBLAOI.NAME AS AREAOFINTEREST, TBLPROJECTS.MANPOWER, TBLUNITS.NAME AS MANPOWERUNITFROM TBLPROJECTS INNER JOIN TBLAOI ON TBLPROJECTS.AOI_ID = TBLAOI.ID INNER JOIN TBLPROJECTTYPES ON TBLPROJECTS.PROJECTTYPE_ID = TBLPROJECTTYPES.ID INNER JOIN TBLUNITS ON TBLPROJECTS.MANPOWERUNITS_ID = TBLUNITS.ID INNER JOIN TBLUSERS ON TBLPROJECTS.MANAGER_ID = TBLUSERS.ID INNER JOIN TBLUSERS TBLUSERS_1 ON TBLPROJECTS.OWNER_ID = TBLUSERS_1.ID I have tested it on a new project and still it does not work, I cannot find any problem, please help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I need to move few folders from our DEV SSRS 2005 environment to another server. Folders will be moved to new parent folders. Is there any tool that I can use fot this purpose? I used RSScripter from SQLdbatips.com. Although the tool works great but it can't script multiple folder reports. I have to script one by one and it is a big problem.
In SSRS 2005, Is it possible to have a link in one report (i.e. report A) to be directed to report B. Can you show me guidance on where to start please?
I had a report (.rdl) using sql reporting services in sql server 2005, where it was running quite good. I have just installed sql server 2005 sp2. After that, when I run the report through report viewer, the result of the report contains the first record of the dataset keep on repeating for all other records. If I run the dataset the results are correct, but if I preview it, then the first record alone repeating for all other records.
I feel that sp2 might cause this rendering problem. Any suggestion please?
We recently did an "in place" upgrade of SQL Server and SSRS 2000 to 2005.
After the upgrade we cannot view the exisiting reports. (although we can publish new reports using the VS2005 Designer and they show up just fine.)
We have SP2 installed for SSRS2005 and all SPs for SQL are up to date.
When we navigate to an existing report via the reporting services website, the report acts like it is trying to run and then returns and error message:
An internal error occurred on the report server. See the error log for more details. (rsInternalError) Get Online Help
When we look at the logs we see that the report server cannot initialize the stream from the Catalog table.

I have been using Microsoft Business Intelligence for 1st time. This software has been able to create my reports based on a table I have. But note, this report is built using Business Intelligence (Visual Studio). Now, the Report pulls data from a database. I also have a C# application that interfaces with this same database. What I would like to do is to display the content of this report in my C# application. How do I go about doing this?
I have an ASP.NET application which allows the selection of various reporting services created reports to be selected via a drop-down. Until recently this has worked no problem at all, however now a strange error has surfaced.
When the user selects to view a report, the first selection shows the report correctly. However when a second report is selected, instead of displaying the second report, the screen simply posts back but doesnt actually display the second report.
I have visual studio 2008 on my vista ultimate machine. I also have sql express edition, however I have no installed it I was thinking of installing sql standard edition because I really am interested in development of ssrs, crystal reports in a commercial development. Is it best to have both sql express and the standard edition I am excited about sql 2008. What is the best configuaration for an aspiring small comercial developer like myself. I am looking for input. Thanks
