I was given a project from my supervisor and i must complete it until Tuesday. I must transfer our ingres database into sql server database. So far i have done all the work with the tables, primary keys, views and data. I don€™t know how to go on with the procedures and rules that i have to transfer. Is there anyone that had faced the same condition? What should i do?

I need to migrate my SQL server Mirror Database to a new server. my current setup is as below
1. server A principal (192.168.1.100)
2. server B Mirror   (192.168.1.200)
Now i have a new server (Server C) to replace server B as below
1. server A principal (192.168.1.100)
2. server C Mirror   (192.168.1.300)
My question is how to migrate mirror db to new server without any affect or downtime on principal server.
note: SQL SERVER 2008R2 EE(64BIT), Win2008R2 EE 64bit.

In my application,I used Sql Server 2000 Database where I used some Stored Procedures,View,Function and Triggers .Now I want to migrate it to Sql Server 2005. Is there a way to transfer data from a SqlServer db to a SqlServer Express db. I tried to use the backup file of SqlServer, but this file is not valid for SqlServer Express. Or there any alternatives?

I am trying to 'load' a copy of a SQLServer 2000 database to SQLServer 2005 Express (on another host). The copy was provided by someone else - it came to me as a MDF file only, no LDF file.
I have tried to Attach the database and it fails with a failure to load the LDF. Is there any way to bypass this issue without the LDF or do I have to have that?
The provider of the database says I can create a new database and just point to the MDF as the data source but I can't seem to find a way to do that? I am using SQL Server Management Studio Express.

I have DNN installed on one server and now i need to move whole site to another server. I have moved the FTP files, and changed the conn string in config. How can i move the database? I want to select the logins from the OriginalMaster, and using sp_help_revlogin script all the Logins out. I know there were many logins in that database. But what I am seeing, are all the Logins from the Current Master database. Which are only 7 Logins.

I created 2 linked servers: one to a SQL2000 sp4 server and one to a SQL7.0 SP3.
I have the following error when I query the linked servers.

I applied the instcat.sql on the SQL2000SP4 server and my linked server issues for that one are gone.
However, I ran the instcat.sql script on the SQL7.0 sp3 server and the linked server is still giving me an issue.

I have an application in which the database is currently in MySQL. The app is being re-written(in .net 3.5) and I would like to move the data to SQL Server 2005. What is the best may to get the data from MySQL to SQL Server. Any good tools out there? Idealy, I would be able to manipulate the data during the move, as I have plans for some schema changes, but I suppose I could always make them after migrating.
Please suggest any tools or methods, with your thoughts. I will evaluate any suggested tools. Also, SSIS is available for me, is that the best way?

I have right clicked on my DTS package and selected Migrate... Iassumed this is a good idea for future upgradeability (?) The processworked without error but I have no idea where the resulting migratedpackage can be found. Newbie to SQL CE 2005. We have an SDF database file with a whole bunch of tables and data. We have to port the SDF to SQL Server 2005 database. The SQL Server DB is empty has no knowledge of the SDF tables/schema. How do I go about to get the SDF schema/tables migrated to SQL Server DB and then also transfer the data.

I need to migrate Reports from a SQL Server 2008 R2 Server to SQL Server 2014 Reporting Services.
Reporting Services is installed on one Server and the Reporting Services is installed on another Server.
On the existing Server the Encryption was never backed up.
What do I do with the key?
