Integration Services :: Connect To Oracle Database Using OLEDB Manager
Nov 23, 2010
Getting following error while trying to connect to ORACEL database using OLEDB manager.
Error at RADAR [Connection manager "RADAR_Updated"]: SSIS Error Code DTS_E_OLEDB_NOPROVIDER_ERROR. The requested OLE DB provider OraOLEDB.Oracle.1 is not registered. Error code: 0x00000000.

I am trying to dynamically change my initial catalog in a SSIS project. Each day I get a snapshot of data from the production server. I am performing ETL on that database and loading it into my warehouse. I am trying to put something together so that each day I get the latest snapshot and if its newer then my most recent one I pass that new catalog into the connection manager. I can already run the sql script to compare the two catalogs but I can't populate the connection manager.
I'm using SQL Srv '12. Have ADW'12 and ADWDW'12 DBs installed.I created a new SSIS project. Two project level OLEDB con mngers (One for each OLEDB DB).Dragged and dropped a new DFT.Inside the DFT, I'm using Source Assistant to connect to the ADW'12 OLEDB source.
I am getting the following error when trying to EDIT a OLEDB Connection Manager. I am using VS2010. Im not coming up with any answers to this problem. I just reinstalled SQL SERVER CLIENT TOOLS 2012 That includes the SQL DATA TOOLS/VS 2010 But I still receive this error.
Error:Unable to find the requested .Net Framework Data Provider. It may not be installed. (System.Data)
I've made connections in SSIS to Oracle before by setting up TNS but this latest connection is different.
I've been give an SSL cert that I had to import into the Oracle Wallet Manager and to get connected in 'Oracle SQL Developer' I had to choose connectionType = advanced and drop the following line in the JDBC URL section
I'm having an issue connecting to an Oracle database using Visual Studio 2013 - Business Intelligence tools.I am running Windows 7 (64-bit), Visual Studio 2013, and have SQL 2012 Enterprise (64-bit) on my local machine. I downloaded the MS Connectors v2.0 for Oracle found here. But when I try to add a new connection either through the connection manager or inserting a Data Flow Task and looking for the Oracle connections in the "Other Sources" or "Other Destinations" - neither option is available.I have the 32-bit Oracle client installed, the tnsnames.ora file has been created and I can connect to the Oracle DB through PL/SQL.I see Microsoft Connector for Oracle by Attunity 2.0 in my Programs list - installed for this file: Attunity SSISOra Adapters SetupX64.msi. don't know what else to try to get the connections available.
I have designed a DTS package which will migrate a view from Sqlserver 2000 to Oracle. My package is using Microsoft OLEDB provider for Oracle driver for connecting to oracle.Im able to execute this package on the my system ie on the system where sqlclient is installed(Oracle client is also installed on my machine) .But when im doing it on the server im not able to do it.The Connection to Oracle Fails. I wanted to know in order to connect to Oracle from the server,is it necessary that Oracle has to be installed on the server?.If yes, is it enough if i install oracle client on the server or Oracle Server version has to be installed on Server.

Looking for sample ETL package to extract data from SQL Sever Database and load into Oracle Database using SQL SERVER INTEGRATION SERVICES 2008. The requirement is for full load and incremental load both.
I need reflecting changes of csv file in oracle DB. Suppose, I load single csv file in oracle DB which contains 10 rows. After some time, I have loaded another CSV file which has the modified row of the previously loaded csv file. So, how can I capture the CSV changes and how it is going to get reflected in oracle DB?There is no unique column in csv file to identify particular row.
We have an Enterprise setup with multiple domains.
We a Domain A with SQL server 2008R2 say SQL-A and Domain B with SQL server 2008R2 ( SQL-B). It will be like SQL-A will always access SQL-B. Reverse is not required.
In Domain A we have a .Net Application which accesses SQL-A to perform CRUD operations which ultimately come to SQL- B since all SQL tables exist in SQL- B only.
Need to know the right way to implement Linked Server from SQL-A to SQL-B, so that Domain issues as well as DML execution work smooth.
I need not worry about DDL in SQL-A And SQL-B as it will taken care of by network and H/W team. I just need to focus on as developer.
I have requirement to update/insert the DPID based on the address which are passed as an input values. There are more than one address at the same time and I configured to get the address from the query which are correct and output of the address values will be stored as system object variable.I am then passing the system object variable to for each loop container and I have configured the collection and variable mappings as a variable for each input value.
when I pass the value manually to the web service task it works correctly. When I pass it as a variable to web service task it doesn't return any value.I have a data flow task which converts the ouput from web service task using the xml source converts it to oledb destination.I don't see any rows being written to the target table.
I have to combine data from DB2 and SQL server and do some manipuation. I wanted to do union all and put in temp table for further manipulation. I created a temp table in control flow,
Then I was trying to use that temp table for destination but I can do see that in destination. I have to automate the package and do that everyday. I read some blogs but did not understand how they did it. I did set retainsameconnection to true. I did find this thread but i did not understand how it was done. URL....
I have two OBL DB sources, Then I have Union ALL and then OLE Destination in data flow.I have the temp table code in Execute sql task.
I try to import my SSIS packages which are created using the Business Intelligent studio into SQL server 2005 but I cannot do that.
I am running SQL server 2005 enterprise edition.
Also when i tried to connect to Integration services using Object explorer, it only prompt me for server name. I cannot change the username and password which is disabled.
Then how am i supposed to connect to Integration services on a server in this case?
Is it possible to access a Derrvied Column from an OLE-DB Command? I have to Update a Table with a join and i need from the source Table columns which have to be pivoted before i can use it in the update Command.
I have an SSIS job that is pumping to a SQL Server Destination, hundreds of gigabytes of raw text files. Today I received this strange error ? Also, how would I make the data tasks more stable and robust so that this doesn't cause package failure (retries, or something?)

We run std 2008 r2. I'm trying out the commandtimeout property of an oledb source. I set it to 30 expecting 30 seconds. if connection and or execution exceed that threshold, will the pkg fail? Either way is there a way I can detect that the threshold was exceeded?
I am working to archive some old data from a data warehouse using SQL server and SSIS. The data will be read and denormalized, then shipped out to a delimited text file.
The rowcount of the incoming data is significant, call it 10M+ rows per unit of work (one text file).
There are development advantages of using a stored proc for the data source - mainly ease of changing the denormalization logic as required. Wondering if there are performance advantages of an embeded query for the data source instead?
It was mentioned by one developer that when using a stored procedure, the output stream from the proc and subsequent SSIS steps cannot start until the full procedure processing is complete; i.e. the proc churns out its' result set in one big chunk.
He hinted that an embedded query does not have this same effect, but I am not sure that is accurate.
I have an existing SSIS package created on another workstation. It connects to and updates data in a DB2 database. I'm only making one very minor change to the package, so I want to change this package as little as possible. When I try to open the existing db2 connection manager in the package on my workstation, I get 'The specified provider is not supported. Please choose different provider in connection manager'.
On the properties box, I get the following on the connectionString for the existing connection manager (data source and userid changed to "private"):Data Source=PRIVATE;User ID=private;Provider=IBMDADB2.DB2COPY1;Persist Security Info=True;
I tried loading the 32 and 64 bit db2 drivers (but I may have done something wrong). I still couldn't get the original db2 connection manager to open, I tried to add a new connection manager,
Data Source=PRIVATE;Provider=IBMDADB2 Advanced Page..This has 'Provider=IBMDADB2 Advanced Page.;' instead of Provider='IBMDADB2.DB2COPY1', and doesn't let me enter a userid and password, which I need to be able to do.
I'm using - Destination - Oracle driver - oraOLEDB.Oracle.1 (native ole dboracle provider for ole db)
Source - SQL driver - microsoft ole db prover for sql server. I want to import data from sql server to oracle. Challenge is, I have 1 million records on oracle. I have 100 records on sql server (these 100 records count will change daily). So, I thought of using 'lookup' task looking taking record from ms sql and fetch corresponding record from oracle. But when I use lookup, all records from oracle are loading into cache, which is taking approx 3 hrs.
Oracle linked server. If I query Oracle in my packages using SQL it tooks age if I use an OLE DB Oracle connection it takes minutes, so I started to develop my packages using the OLE DB Oracle. The point is that in order to connect the Oracle db I must set up a password (Oracle requires a password but if I use directly SQL it doesn't need any password). This password changes every month so I do need to set up the password for...if I can come up with another solution? I don't know, maybe a unique connection...just set up the password only once.
I'm using SSDT 2012 to create SMO Connection Manager for transferring server objects. However the connection is not working, it always returns error message something like "server is not found". I tried to connect multiple servers, with both Windows and SQL authentications, none of them works. I found the SMO.dll is already installed in the specific folder on my development machine. What would be the reason of this error?
Edited---Added the error message below. I can connect the server using OLEDB or ADO.NET. So my question is, is there a service, protocol or port .... to get SMO Server ready for responding?
How do I know when its the right time to use the Cache Connection Manager? I understand that Full Cache mode eliminates the need to query the lookup table for every row.
Is the Cache Connection Manager intended for use by multiple packages that need access to the same lookup data?
When i try to connect to SQL 2005 integration services from object explorer i get connected (in the sense it shows in object explorer running packages stored packages ..)but when i try to exand any of these objects i get the following error
Failed to retrieve data for this request(Microsoft.sqlserver.smoEnum)
Additional information
The sql server specified in SSIS service configuration is not present or not available. This might occur when there is no default instance of Sql server on the computer. For more information see "config integeration services" in server 2005 books online.
