Oct 2, 2015The attached image below shows the steps and its set up to fail if not successful.However there was a metadata validation issue in step one (underlying database field had changed), yet the job kept emailing stating it was successful.It appears to have just carried on with the other steps despite step one failing.

I am trying to run eight SSIS packs from within Integration Services > Stored Packages > File System and seem to get an error like the following on all of them:
"Failed to acquire connection "MyConnection". Connection may not be configured correctly or you may not have the right permissions on this connection.
I can run the packages without error from within VS and from within that location in Integration Services on the machine containing the the databases, but when I attempt to run them remotely I get that error. I am attempting this with full admin access on both machines, but the purpose behind these packages is for our developers to run them on individual databases whenever they need to. So I'm concerned that I may run into further access errors after this, but so far I can't find a reason why this connection would fail. Any ideas?
If I can supply more information please let me know. Thanks in advance for any information!

Nov 21, 2005I have developed several SSIS packages with the last Beta of VS2005 / SQL Server CTP. After the public release I tried to uninstall the CTP-Versions to install the msdn finals but this time I got lost and was not able to satisfy the requirements of the final setup of VS2005. So I decided to install the whole pc again and after some hours I had a clean machine (XP with latest SQL Server 2005 Standard and VS2005 Professional).
Now I have tried to open my SSIS-Project but getting the following error:
Error loading ImpNetqNewsRss.dtsx: Failed to decrypt protected XML node "DTS:Password" with error 0x8009000B "Schlüssel ist im angegebenen Status nicht gültig.". You may not be authorized to access this information. This error occurs when there is a cryptographic error. Verify that the correct key is available.
After some “googling” I found this thread: URL... If I’m right the solution should be to use a Package Password, but I can’t figure out where I have to go enter/change a password. I even can’t remember I that ever used a password on my old installation for a dtsx-package?

Oct 5, 2015We are upgrading from SQL 2008 R2 to 2014. I have a 2008 SSIS package converted in VS 2013 and deployed to MSDB as package deployment model. It ran ok from an agent job. However, after I converted the same package into project deployment model, converted the connection manager to project model, deployed the project (with the package) to SSISDB and applied environment variable for its configuration, the agent job failed for not able to acquire connection to what used to be the connection manager.
Both agent jobs run understand the same account on the server. The account has access to the databases that are connected in the packages. The job/packages has been running ok on 2008 R2 accessing the same db for years.
The environment variable for the connection string is defined as "Data Source=ServerABC;Initial Catalog=DB123;Provider=SQLNCLI11;Impersonation Level=Impersonate;"
Why can't the job connect to the database when it runs a package from SSISDB?

Oct 9, 2015I want to achieve the following in (SSIS/SSDT for SQL 2012) -
I have a generic SSIS package which simply sends out email notifications using SMTP email task (this package is within its own project, and has project level input parameters).
I need to be able to call this package in the Event handler section of every package (numbering in about less than 60) that we have. These packages are within their own respective projects.
I thought I could use the "execute package task", but it turns out , using this, I cannot call a package that is part of some other project. I also cannot call a package that is stored in the CATALOG. Is there any way I can do this ?
When I call the child package , I should be able to send in parameters like - error information and package name of the Parent package.

Feb 21, 2007In our package we have a script task that renames the files in the server (Windows 2003) where the package is deployed.
When we execute the project from the development environment(IDE), then it works fine and doesn't give any error.
However, when we deploy the package after configuring the Configuration file properly, then it throws up a "Script Task Failed" error and the the package execution fails.
We checked all the variable values from the development environment in the current package. The child variables take the variable values from the parent package and the configuration file.
It works fine, which implies that there is no problem with the script (This same script was working perfectly earlier - We have made NO changes to the script task.)
Another issue is that we are not able to debug the script task even if we put breakpoints in the script. The control flow simply doesn't stop at the breakpoints.

Apr 15, 2015I am trying to run a SSIS Package from SQL Server BI Studio. I receive the error "The package failed to load due to error 0xC0011008". SQL Server 2008 R2 installed (32bit Win 7), along with Integration Services. The Package connects to a SQL Server DB.
Here is the full error taken from consol in BI Studio:

Dec 24, 2013We run 2012 enterprise. When I open my project on a different machine than the one I used to create the project, I get the following warnings. I'm concerned about 1) checking in source from different machines, 2) what is going to happen when we run this in production. All of the project params are sensitive=false and required = true. The master package stageprototype.dtproj has no pkg params and no configs.
The project's protection level is encryptsensitivewith user key but as far as i know there is nothing sensitive in this collection of master and sub packages. I'm concerened that id I change this to dont save sensitive, I'll be looking for a needle in a haystack, specifically the thing or things ssis thinks are sensitive right now.

Jun 19, 2015I'm using a shared data source to connect an Oracle server in my packages. After changing the database user password in the shared data source, I noticed the package concerned would fail with the following description.
Source: "OraOLEDB" Hresult: 0x80004005 Description: "ORA-01017: invalid username/password; logon denied".
Is there a way to ensure the packages will use the latest information in the shared data source? I did do a Rebuild before executing the packages.

Jul 30, 2015There is one SP with parameters varchar, int, varchar and int. It runs perfect in SSMS. Now, I've moved into a Execute SQL task with four IN parameters. In parameter mapping, data type is varchar, long, varchar, long and parameter name is 0,1,2,3. It worked before which is great. Today, I opened this pkg for another testing but failed with the following error:failed with the following error: "Incorrect syntax near ';'.". Possible failure reasons: Problems with the query, "ResultSet" property not set correctly,parameters not set correctly, or connection not established correctly.
I know SP is fine as tested in SSMS. I could not understand where it could go wrong in the ssis package. Currently using Reporting Service 2000; Visual Studio .NET 2003; Visual Source Safe SSIS 2008 SSAS 2008, SVN --

The problem i'm facing is I'm getting System.Net.Mail.SmtpException with inner exception as A connection attempt failed because the connected party did not properly respond after a period of time, or established connection failed because connected host has failed to respond xx.xx.xx.xx:25. I'm using SMTPConnection and Windows Authentication as credentials.I also add the ISServerExec.exe to the firewall exclusion list still it throws the same error.

We have Live Database( LIVE_DB ) and Reports Database (REP_DB)
I want to trasfer the few tables data from LIVE_DB into the REP_DB for end of the day using SSIS
If any new records are added, updated or deleted in LIVE_DB, these should reflect in the REP_DB, Our requirement is not to delete the old data, we should append or delete or insert the new transaction data in REP_DB.

I did explicitly install SSDT when I installed VS2015. I also installed it separately. I see SSDT listed in Programs, and SSIS is running according to SQL Server Config Manager, and Services. Half of Microsoft's docs seem to be 2012 era, which is a shame because 2014 is out and it's nearly 2016...

Sep 25, 2015We'll be using 2014 enterprise to populate some excel spreadsheets. We may not have the option of using ssrs so here is the question.
The excel spreadsheets have some pretty fancy heading structures, multiple tabs and in a few cases graphs that i'm sure are dependent on data sitting somewhere in the spreadsheet. The heading have variable info in them (eg FYxx where xx is a parameterized fiscal year, month names etc). Sometimes those headings have sub headings (with variable info) and so on.
Generally speaking how (if at all) do folks deal with this kind of excel challenge when limited to using ssis? I don't know if templates are going to be a good idea. I don't know if i'll be looking at a fair amount of c# etc code behind the scenes. I can be more specific depending on the feedback.
This is part of a conversion from 2 of the larger BI and statistical tools out there to the MS sql stack. Obviously with some shortcuts that we may wish we didn't take.

Apr 19, 2015 we have a table with xml column. This column has a large xml data . I am trying to use ssis to import xml from sql column (table a) to destination (another table).
steps which i did in ssis:
1. execute sql task:
fetch the xml column by query and store "full result set" into an object variable.
2. foreach loop:
select Ado enumerator option and select variable which has reset set of execute sql task. In variable mapping selected a new variable of type string.
when I run package I get below error:
"Error: ForEach Variable Mapping number 1 to variable "User::variable" cannot be applied".

Jun 23, 2015Have Visual Studio 2008 R2 with SP 2 installed. Due to a merger we now have a MySQL database that we need to update from SSIS. Everything works except for the table insert or update. Would upgrading to SP 3 or SP 4 maybe useful with that?
We have installed the latest driver from MySQL. Have tried the ADO.Net and ODBC drivers with similar results when we try to update the database.

Apr 29, 2015I have a ETL ( SSIS ) Process in which i am loading around 150 tables in each run. ( Truncate and Insert ). I have four packages each from different sources. ( Each package loads different tables and different numbers )These are run on weekly basis one after the other. Each package is taking around 60 to 90 minutes each. Now i want to track the progress of the ETL on my front End application.
We want this in two ways.
First Way : I need to show the user how much percent of ETL Process is completed
Second Way : I need to show the No of tables completed and how many rows have been completed in the ongoing table ( which is in process )

1. Mandatory field checking: if Null, reject the record
2. If field length > 50, then reject the record
SSN
1. If field length > 12, then reject the record
2. If SSN is not in valid format, issue warning and process rhe record without SSN value.
3. Valid format: 9 digit numeric values should present after striping off all non-numeric characters.
4. Only send 9 digits to MDM
Like these i have 30 rules. And I have to shop the error msg if the validation fails like "Mandatory feild is missing".
