Integration Services :: Using 2008 Native Client 10.0 Provider To Connect 2012 DB?
Jul 9, 2015
In our packages, we are using Microsoft SQL Server Native Client 10.0 provider to connect our SQL Server 2008 DBs, which is working fine till we are migrating 2008 DB server to 2012. after the upgrade, some of our packages are working fine, some are not. I'm just curiuos to know will the
old provider(Microsoft SQL Server Native Client 10.0) will work fine for connecting 2012 DBs? or I need to update all our packages to re-point to new 2012 Provider.
and this fails with 80040154 error. I am using sqlserver 2012 and everything worked perfectly fine as long as my application was running on the same machine as sql server was installed but now that the app is deployed in a different environment in which the app runs on a separate server than the server which has the database and sql server I am failing with this error even though the sql server version on the target server is same as mine.
I am trying to deploy the SQL Server 2008 R2 Native Client via group policy to a bunch of clients. But i am unable to find any documentation regarding if this is even supported?
I have the two files:Â sqlncli(x86).msi and sqlncli(x64).msi that i have attached to a GPO as en assigned application. But the x64 package fails with this error:
Product: Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2 Native Client -- The required IACCEPTSQLCLILICENSETERMS=YES command-line parameter is missing. By specifying this parameter, you acknowkledge that you accept the end user license terms for the Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2 Native Client.
32 bit installed without this error. But if there is any documentation on this type of deployment and how to pass the parameters to a normal GPO deployment.
I can't find any info on supported deployment options.
i have a small problem to connect SQL Native ODBC Client to a mirrored Database. The connection goes without any problem when I connect to a primary Database, but when i give this connect string to an ODBC Client ""Server=Partner_A; Failover Partner=Partner_B; Database=XXX; Network=dbmssocn"", then i get an connect fail. There are no firewalls and other things on the network. I am also able to connect to a mirror database during failover, but I'm not able to set both servers on the ODBC Connection.
When I'm using SQL server 2005, and ODBC drive €œSQL Native Client€? I get an error when executing the below given code. Error Message: €œTransaction cannot start because more than one ODBC connection is in use.€?
But this works well with SQL Server 2000 with ODBC drive "SQL Native Client" and in SQL server 2005 also when I used ODBC drive €œSQL Server€?.
I used aTrgConn.Execute(€œBegin Transaction€?) and it's working properly. But unfortunately I cannot use this method, because I want to run the same code with Oracle ODBC as well. Is this a known issue in SQL Native client drive with SQL server 2005? Do you know a solution for this?
Please Help..............
Thanks in advance.
Code:
Dim aTrgConn As New ADODB.connection Dim aCmdIns As New ADODB.Command Dim aCmdUpd As New ADODB.Command
aTrgConn.Open sConnStr
Set aCmdIns.ActiveConnection = aTrgConn Set aCmdUpd.ActiveConnection = aTrgConn
I have an SQL Server 2012 with SSIS installed on Windows Server 2008 R2 Core. I'd like to connect remotley to SSIS but I receive the following error. 'The RPC server is unavailable.'
The following error occurred when trying to connect to 2012/2014 SSIS Server using SSMS remotely. Local connection works fine.Using the info from below link does not resolve the problem. Â Permissions are granted through DCOM. If this cannot be resolved, packages will have to stored on filesystem instead. URL....Connecting to the Integration Services service on the computer "" failed with the following error: "Class not registered".
This error can occur when you try to connect to a SQL Server 2005 Integration Services service from the current version of the SQL Server tools. Instead, add folders to the service configuration file to let the local Integration Services service manage packages on the SQL Server 2005 instance.
i connect to remote Integration Service. i configure server for remote connection( on component services and DCOM config , ... ) .and now i can connect to Integration Service remotely and correctly.
but when i expand Stored Package and then click to expand MSDB this error will hapen:
login failed for user ... .(microsoft sql native client )
We want to create interactive dashboards using SSRS 2008 R2. We currently has Report Server installed in Native mode. I see that we can build some good dashboards using SSRS, SharePoint 2010 and PerformancePoint. But I wanted to find out if we can build that level of dashboard using just SSRS. We are still convincing the management for getting SharePoint license. In case if they don't agree for the Sharepoint license, can we build some good dashboards just using SSRS?
Product: Microsoft SQL Server 2005 -- Error 29515. SQL Server Setup could not connect to the database service for server configuration. The error was: [Microsoft][SQL Native Client]Encryption not supported on the client. Refer to server error logs and setup logs for more information. For details on how to view setup logs, see "How to View Setup Log Files" in SQL Server Books Online.
On Windows XP systems I get the following issue when trying to browse the MSDB folder in SSIS
Client unable to establish connection Encryption not supported on SQL Server. (Microsoft SQL Native Client)
I have noticed another post where several others have noticed the same issue. It appears to only occur on Windows XP installations. Is there a workaround or fix for this?
I have SQL2000 installed as the default instance, and now I'm trying to install SQL 2005 standard edition as a named instance.
I receive this error : SQL Server could not connect to database service for server configuration.. [SQL Native client] Encryption not supported on the client. However I'm able to install client tools
The setup works fine on other box with the same config : SQL 2000/Windows XP, is there any work around for this issue ?
In my SQL 2000 client network utilty "Force proctocol encryption " is desabled and did not find the setting for SQL 2005 !
I try to import my SSIS packages which are created using the Business Intelligent studio into SQL server 2005 but I cannot do that.
I am running SQL server 2005 enterprise edition.
Also when i tried to connect to Integration services using Object explorer, it only prompt me for server name. I cannot change the username and password which is disabled.
Then how am i supposed to connect to Integration services on a server in this case?
Oracle linked server. If I query Oracle in my packages using SQL it tooks age if I use an OLE DB Oracle connection it takes minutes, so I started to develop my packages using the OLE DB Oracle. The point is that in order to connect the Oracle db I must set up a password (Oracle requires a password but if I use directly SQL it doesn't need any password). This password changes every month so I do need to set up the password for...if I can come up with another solution? I don't know, maybe a unique connection...just set up the password only once.Â
I have an SSIS job that is pumping to a SQL Server Destination, hundreds of gigabytes of raw text files. Today I received this strange error ? Also, how would I make the data tasks more stable and robust so that this doesn't cause package failure (retries, or something?)

I am trying to setup a client alias to connect to a named instance on another server.

I have set up the alias on the server and as expected it works. On the client side I have used the SQL Server Client Network Utility to configure the client side alias but no luck
I am using TCP/IP with a specific port ..
By the way the SQL is SQL Server 2012 Ent and the O/S is Windows 2012 R2 minshell
When running the etl I'm getting the error: <SSIS Task>: Shared Memory Provider: Timeout error [258] ; followed by the message "Communication link failure".
What is special about this message that it happens on a SQL Execute task (random task) and the Timeout is after 2 minutes.
When executing the packages separatly it is working fine. The SQL Tasks that are failing are also quit heavy, but reasonable and takes between >2min and 10 - 15 min. Statements are stored procedures that puts an index on 3 mil. records or update statements,...
I had a look to all my (SSIS-etl)Â timeouts and they have the default value 0, the "remote query timeout" of the server is set to 10 minutes. According to me, these are the only one that exists?
There are 2instances on the server each instance has 24GB allocated, the server has 64 in total. Also when the etl runs (that results in an error) no other etl is running on the 2 instances. I'm working with the oledb sql server native client11.0 provider : SQLNCLI11.1.
I have tried this on several different operating systems (VISTA and XP ) and several versions of SQL NATIVE CLIENT including 2005.90.3042.0
I have a 64 bit "SQL NATIVE CLIENT" connection that fails. The exact same connection and code succeeds on 32 bit. My customer and I prepend "oledb:" to the connection string and it starts working.
FAILS on 64 bit: Provider=SQLNCLI.1;Integrated Security=SSPI;Persist Security Info=False;Initial Catalog=Wrigley_Test;Data Source=MONGO;Use Procedure for Prepare=1;Auto Translate=True;Packet Size=4096;Workstation ID=RIPTIDE;Use Encryption for Data=False;Tag with column collation when possible=False;MARS Connection=False;DataTypeCompatibility=0;Trust Server Certificate=False

I debugged my code to the point that I know it is happening when I call CreateAccessor for my SQL statement.
SQL Server 2012 Data Tools was working fine for me but something must've changed, now every time I try to create a new SSIS project I get:
The server threw an exception. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80010105 (RPC_E_SERVERFAULT)).
When I try to open an existing project I get:
exception has been thrown by the target of an invocation
external component has thrown an exception (SSISUpgrade)
The issue seems to only arise with SSIS projects.I have already uninstalled SQL Server 2012 and reinstalled it and that didn't work.I tried to install Visual Studio 2012 Data Tools with BI and that also crashes when I try to create an SSIS project.Output of SQL Server SELECT @@VERSION is:

after installing SQL Server 2008 R2 and the Reporting Services, I've managed to access the Report Manager URL....Reports through the web browser on the machine itself. But if i am trying to connect to on my client browser it does not find the Report Server.Do I need to configure the server in any way? Do I need to configure the firewall?
I running SSIS package job without sql agent , it is working fine.when i am running through sql agent not running.

I'm using SQL Srv '12. Have ADW'12 and ADWDW'12 DBs installed.I created a new SSIS project. Two project level OLEDB con mngers (One for each OLEDB DB).Dragged and dropped a new DFT.Inside the DFT, I'm using Source Assistant to connect to the ADW'12 OLEDB source.
I want to connect to an Informix Database via SSIS to read and store data. I did some search online and have downloaded Informix ODBC Drivers. I installed the drivers and am trying to configure a System DSN but have few doubts on what each field indicate. URL... I am not sure on what to enter in fields like IBM Informix Server, Service Name? Connecting to Informix DB via SSIS?
I have two servers (TESTSERVER, PRODSERVER). On the TESTSERVER i have a package that i'm using for data load from a source database on a SOURCESERVER. Everything works great until this point. Now from the PRODSERVER Â in the SSIS package i'm trying to create a connection in the connection manager to the SOURCESERVER and i'm getting the following error
