Report Server Connection String Problem.. Please Its Very Urgent

Hi all,
I am new to SQL Server Reporting Services 2005.
I have created a report project and deployed in my report server. After deployment i also viewed all my reports in asp.net application using report viewer control.
Now my problem is i want to move my reports to another report server.. how to acheive this ?. Also database name also changed. now i also want to change connection string of all my reports in new server ?. Please let me know how to change the connection string for all my reports in a single attempt ?

Hi
In my project , we are using Dsn and DSN less connection, for certain functionality
we are providing users to select tables and views .
we don't want that all system tables and views are listed for selecting , how can we achieve this functionality?
Is there any options in the connection string for restricting system tables and views?
Any help is much appriciated

Hi,
I get the follwowing error message when i click on sync on my PDA.
"Failure to open SQL Server with given connection string.[connectString = Datasource=DSP-WS-194SQLEXPRESS;Initial Catalog=EMS;Integrated Security = True]; Multiple-step OLE DB Operation generated errors. Check each OLE DB status value if available. No work was done."
I am trying to use RDA to synchronize my server database (SQL Server Express) and client database (SQL Compact Edition) on my PDA. I am also using the sqlcesa30.dll for my internet URL.
I hope someone can help me out here. Thanks

I have a report at server side, as this report will be used by three different company and each company has their own database, so is that possible to pass connection string of this report as parameter ? so that i can runtime change the onnection string of this report to display correct company data?

Suppose we are two developer.Who have SSRS install at there own system.
Our database server is intalled on our main db server.
1,First thing does it necessay to create a shared datasource.
I have a web application in which I want's to add a folder say My reports in which i will put my reports {that is .rdl file}
Then I want's to hit a url with render format as excel this will bring down my report in excel format.
2,How to configure a connection
I want's to pass the connection string in the rdl via some xml file let say myconnectionn xml file
which look like

I have a child package where the ConnectionString property of a Connection Manager is set by a Parent Package Variable Configuration. I set up a script task that brings up a message box with the value of the ConnectionString property right before the dataflow task.
MessageBox.Show(Dts.Connections["CPU_*"].ConnectionString.ToString());When I run the parent package, the message box shows that the connection string is changing with every iteration, but in the dataflow it always draws the data from the same source.
The connection manager is an ADO.Net type, RetainSameConnection is set to False, and I've been researching this for days.
(Update 2/23/2015): To make this stranger, when I look at the diagnostic logs, they tell me that when the new connections are being opened they are using the new connection strings.

I added a connection (ADO.NET) object by name testCon in the connection manager - I wanted to programmatically supply the connection string. So I used the "Expressions" property of the connection object and set the connectionstring to one DTS variable. The idea is to supply the connection string value to the variable - so that the connection object uses my connection string.
Then I added a "Backup Database Task" to my package with the name BkpTask. Now whenever I try to set the connection property of BkpTask to the testCon connection object, by typing testCon, it automatically gets cleared. I am not able to set the connection value.
Then after spending several hours I found that this is because I have customized the connection string in testCon. If I don't customize the connection string, I am able to enter the "testCon" value in the connection property of the BkpTask.
Is this an intrinsic issue?

I keep getting this error when I try to connect to my SQL Server DB

when I installed SQL Server I set username and password to windows default which is Administrator and no password
the asp files are on IIS (localhost)

Hi
I went to my comp ->rt cick->manage-IIS->default website->rt click->properties->directory security->annoymouse access€¦EDIT->under Default domain it was blank, and i added a domain there.
And i was getting error opening up the reports from localhost.
I changed everything to same as it was previosly, and I am getting the error:
The report server cannot open a connection to the report server database. A connection to the database is required for all requests and processing. (rsReportServerDatabaseUnavailable) (rsRPCError) Get Online Help
Cannot open database "ReportServer$SQLExpress" requested by the login. The login failed. Login failed for user 'NGESComputer name$'.

I installed SQL reporting services 2005 and successfully configured reporting services.After designing the report using Bussiness Intelligence Studio, i tried to deploy my reporting services application to the localhost , I got the below mentioned error :

Hello everyone, I've been searching the forum for three hours now and I couldn't find anything that helped me.
First I thought I didn't install the SQL server properly, I now found out that it is installed properly.
I am using VWD 2008 Express Edition. I could access the aspnetdb in the SQLExpress server. I could modify entries and create new databases. So the server obviously works.
Problem -> I cannot access the WebSiteAdmin modul ... for no apparent reason, it always gives me a timeout.
If you restart the tool by clicking the asp.net icon in the traylist stop it, then retry over the button in the VWD, then I did that a dozen times. I restart the tool and then access it five seconds later, no matter what I do I always get a time out.
Any help is appreciated, I can't solve this and I really really need it. Thanks a lot in advance.

Hi All,
I have several textbox in my report and I would like to shrink "Amount" textbox field and move it to the above line if i get blank line before it.
For Example: ----> Iam Using Textboxs Only
Account : 12312
Payment Date: 12/4/07
Paytype: credit
card # : 43475834774
Amount : $233.00 ------> i got report result like this....
when i will get "Paytype" field to "Cash" I will suppress "card #" field totally
i got blank line in between ( Paytype and Amount) this is the logic.

How to Amount textbox field to shrink if i get blank line....

I am newbie and working with an application that ueses report server 2000 to make reports.
The problem is somebody has moved the database and changed some acounts and now I can not either get any report from the server or install my changes for reports. I used to run this commando to install changes for reports:
rs -i PublishGeckoReports.rss -s http://IpAddress:32808/reportserver -v definitionPath="C:TempDeploymentReportsRDL" -v targetFolder="/MyReports"
here is the error message i get when i try to install:

when I browse to http://IpAddress:32808/reportserver I get following:

Logon failure: unknown user name or bad password.
at IIS Manager for default web site Enable Anonymous Access is checked and on the database server and the web.config file use same account and password.
but I heard that somewhere there is encrypted password that i have to change it too.

The error happens on Reporting Service version 9.00.3017.00 (the version we are running in Production). The Reporting Service and its database are actually resided in the same physical server. And the strange thing is that it does not prevent any functionalities or features working except when I launch the Management Studio on that server, it usually takes 2 minutes to load up. (any other server would just take 5 -10 seconds).
Can any one help?

Hi Everyone,
I have used the StoredProcedure as shown below:

When I bind this storedprocedure with Dataset, all the Fields Corresponding to table a and table b are displayed in the Dataset.Finally, when i bind this Dataset with my chart, the fields corresponding to table b are not displayed in the Chart.
The reason for that may be because Report Server cannot bind with multiple Datasets? Please Clarify.
If the Report Server cannot bind with multiple datasets, then how to call different StoredProcedures (according to Criteria) in a Single Report in Report Server project?

sorry to bother you with something so newbish, but I am trying to connect to a remote sql server db, using vb6.
I want to use ado to do so but have been having problem with some of the samples I have found online.
I will probably just test the connection out on an existing database like pubs or northwind.
Can anyone provide me a code snip please?

i'm using sql server 2005 express edition as the database server for my web application. Right now, i want to deploy it and the problem is, my hosting is using sql server 2000. So, is it possible to deploy my database that has been created in sql server 2005 in the sql server 2000? I'm afraid that the connection string for sql server 2000 is different from sql server 2005. In addition, i'm using forms authentication in my web application. So, some data regarding to the forms authentication like dbo.asp_net.membership table, dbo.asp_net.roles table is in my database. Is it the table that has been created like dbo.asp_net.membership can be used in sql server 2000 since it is created by asp.net forms authentication function?
