Reporting Services :: Filter Search Option In SSRS
Apr 15, 2011Search option in the filter of SSRS, like in the filter let say for the category parameter we have 100 values , instead of scrolling down for the required option. can we have an option for search in the filter so that when we type certain value it will come up for example in the Google website, when we type the value in the search bar in the drop down we will get the option..same as that...........can we do in the ssrs.
If yes how can we achieve? Do we need to write any .net code?

Jan 28, 2014A customer use SCSM 2012 RTM and recently they changed the password of the account that connects with the datasources that use Service Manager to generate reports. There are several datasources namely DWStagingAndConfig, ConfigurationManager, DWDataMart and other ones.The process to change the password of the account, done via web in the SSRS URL instance of Service Manager, requires to enter in the Manage option of each DataSource and replace the password with the right one in the Properties section; is a really simple step. However, after the change, the only Datasource that not allows to access again to the Manage option is DWStagingAndConfig (appears a message that points out to a report server internal error);I append a extract of the SSRS log related to the problem with this Datasource.

Did i missed out some thing but other email functionalities like notifications, Approval workflow are working fine so no issue with SMTP.
Reporting Services :: SSRS Cascading Parameters
Jun 26, 2015I am using SSRS 2008 with a SQL Server 2008 R2. It's been many years since i have used SSRS but i have used this and some other reporting tools in the past.I have created a cascading parameters where upon selecting 'ALL' or one of the other values in parameter A , the other values gets displayed in paramter B which is working in the Report builder. i am handling this in the dataset query where i handle that through a case statement ( something like WHERE 1 = (CASE WHEN @Prm_A = 'ALL' THEN 1 END) OR column_X= ( CASE WHEN @Prm_A <>'ALL' THEN @Prm_A END ).Also tried WHERE @Prm_A = 'ALL' OR column_X= @Prm_A
This seems to work in the report builder on my machine or when i run it by editing the report on the web, but when i publish it on the report server, i don't see that behavior, meaning it does not cascade. I also tried to simplify it by making the query simple(WHERE column_X= @Prm_A ), but it still would not cascade on the web.

I have done countless numbers of these with passing parameters, just never without. Am I missing something painfully obvious?

Aug 3, 2015I have what seems to be a common problem where I have names like "Last, First" that I need to be able to select using a multi-value parameter, which of course, SSRS passes as comma-delimited and gets messed up. I need to find a way to use a different delimiter or pass CHAR(44) instead of the comma, or something. Even worse, some people have suffixes and multiple commas in one name!

Reporting Services Version - SSRS 2008 R2
Development Environment - Visual Studio 2008
Problem Details:
I have been writing reports based of a Relational Datamart with dimensions and facts. The report in question uses dimensions for parameters and facts for content. Multi valued parameters are enabled in the report query by using the 'IN(@Paramenter)' statement within the report query. It has a total of 6 multi-value parameters. I assign the same available values from dimension datasets for each parameter to it's default parameter. Theoretically all the values in the option lists should be selected after first render. This is not always the case.
Example:
SELECT *
FROM dbo.MyTable
WHERE
TableColumn0 IN (@Parameter0)
AND
TableColumn1 IN(@Parameter1)
AND ....N (continue syntax to 6 multi valued parameters)
Some of the multi-value drop down lists are defaulting to have every value selected, and some are not. The problem is I need to know why some parameters are not selecting all by default when specified.

May 22, 2015I have a third party app that passes parameters (main dataset query) from the app to SSRS. Unfortunately, when the parameters are passed from the app they will contain equal signs ("=") in front of each parameter. For example, the parameters that may be passed to the main dataset query should be:
"HYDRO, OKO, ONEPL, TECHNI"
However, the parameters that are passed from the app, get to SSRS as:
"=HYDRO, =OKO, =ONEPL, =TECHNI"
Again, this is for the main dataset query and there may be one parameter or there may be any number of them.
Basically, I need to strip the "=" signs from the parameters. whether there is one parameter or ten.
I believe that I will need a custom function to strip the equal signs?

This works no problem. but.. I want to have the user parameter "Craig" be a parameter passed in from the web app. If it were a regular SQL data source you would put @user in the query. How do you do it with XML text queries?
Reporting Services :: Unable To Pass Parameters Dynamically In SSRS 2012
Oct 1, 2015I am creating simple report in ssrs and pass one parameter only. It will work perfectly (here user enter the parameter value). but i need that i should select the value in drop down box. i had tried many time and did different ways but I am unable to do it.
First i gave the parameter in my sql query in Data set (like WHERE COUNTRY = @COUNTRY) and i checked the Parameters tab in the data set. Here by default comes the Parameter Name: COUNTRY and Parameter value: [@COUNTRY].
Next i select COUNTRY Parameter in the Report Data Pane. and go to properties Here in General Tab: Name COUNTRY Prompt: COUNTRY, Select Get values from query in available values Tab (and also i tried with Select Get values from query in Default Value Tab) and Select Data set: Data Set1, Value field: COUNTRY and Label Field COUNTRY. And Click Ok
And tried to preview the report, it throwing below error
"An error Occured during local report processing. The definition of the report is invalid. The Report Parameter 'COUNTRY' has a DefaultValue or a ValidValue that depends on the report parameter "COUNTRY". Forward dependencies are not valid.
How can I achieve dropdown list.What i missed? Even i unable to do it Multi valued parameters and Cascading parameters.
Actually i am working on SQL Express 2012 version.

query is running well and data is coming correctly if I run this on Query designer.and date format must be YYYY-MM-DD.but when I try to run through on run time then the date control is showing format dd/mm/yyyy.
I change the regional settings of windows and SharePoint site to English(United States). and when I select date control it is also putting date in format like "YYYY-MM-DD'. and in that format report is working well in Query designer view.But on run time still it is not working.

Oct 22, 2015I am creating a report where there are 3 tables in one report which have visibility set as an expression so that when a certain criteria is selected in the "Report" parameter, a different table is shown below. This works as expected.
When table 3 is shown, I want a new parameter to be visible to the user called "Ward" where the user will select the ward they are interested in and the table will display data below just for the ward selected. However, I don't want the ward parameter visible when either of the other 2 options are selected. Is this possible and how to do this?

Mar 6, 2015We have SSRS reports (pointing to SQL 2012) containing cascading parameters that we have deployed on SharePoint 2013 and once a user makes a selection to the parent parameter, child parameters are getting refreshed based on the selection in the parent parameter and then we see this:
Once we hit Apply, the Loading image comes up and approximately10 seconds later, The whole webpage gets refreshed and the parameter selections get reset to default parameters.
This is getting frustrating because there are about 10 parameters in the report and once a user makes selections and hit apply if the page gets reset, the user has to make all the selections again.
We are working with Microsoft support on this who suggested us to increase the timeout setting of DistributedCache service on all our SharePoint servers which did seem to work initially but I do see this issue happening occasionally.

Sep 16, 2015I am trying to develop a report from cube,and it has one drill through report.when i click on sales amount field on main report,then it open the drill through report with details.Here i passed the **(category,subcat,product)parameters(Cascaded)** to drill through report in action part of main report.In my main report i have two columns .
columns are **Level** and **Salesamount**.
Values are like

**[-]subcat** **50**
**product** **30**
when i click on 100, parameters are passed & it open the detail report correctly, but when i click on 50,the values for subcat parameter is not getting values in detail report and same as the product also.
Here i used the expressions in parameter values

I got the warning messages during the installation that the IIS is not available but I have the IIS 7 working with all the features enabled. My ASP.NET apps work on the IIS and connect fine to SQL too, just can not seem to get the reporting services.

I have a workstation that had an installation of SQL 2K5 that a tech set up for me. Naturally, it was the wrong edition AND no components were actually installed, making my laptop into a paperweight. I advised that we get SQL Developer for the DBA's and I am trying to install but the option for Reporting Services is greyed out.
I have uninstalled SQL (I think it was Standard) and I even went through the "complete uninstall" detailed in one of these threads thinking that was the problem. I am still unable to install Reporting Services.
Has anyone run into this problem?
PLEASE HELP!

We are using Reporting Services 2000.
The print button that is present in the browser is working just fine for some users.
But some users are complaining that on clicking the print button their system restarts.
Some other users are also getting the error "An error occurred during printing. (0x80004005)"
However on closing the browser and opening the report in it again this issue is resolved.
So, the main concern is "Restart of the machine on click of the PRINT icon in reports viewed in some application browser."
Please help!!

I want to deploy my reports in a Sharepoint site. So I need to change the Deployment mode from Native to Sharepoint Integrated mode. When go to Reporting Services Configuration and in Database Setup - the Server Mode option is not visible. Anyone help me what is the reason for this or How to get Server Mode option in Database Setup in Reporting Services Configuration menu. However the system installed with Sharepoint and SSRS SP2.

I used jump to url option and write the following expression:
