SQL 2012 :: Token Supplied To The Function Is Invalid
Apr 10, 2014
I have multiple sites trying to communicate with a SQL Server 2012 Express database at another remote site. At one site I am unable to connect to the remote server. If I try to use my program I get this message:
System.Data.SqlClient.SqlException (0x80131904): A connection was successfully established with the server, but then an error occurred during the login process. (provider: SSL Provider, error: 0 - The token supplied to the function is invalid)
If I try to connect using SSMS I get the same error.I have been unable to find any reference to this message on the internet.
I'm sure I am not undestanding some basic concept here but the following formula always produces an invalid token error at the '-' sign. In this example, I'm trying to subtract out a specific month from the total (this is a simplified example, my actual formula needs to compute a % change over time using lag...)
This produces the invalid token error (it always errors at the '-' in the equation)
with member [Measures].[MyCalcMeasure] as [Measures].[MyBaseMeasure]-([Date Submitted].[Date Submitted YQMD].[month].&[2008]&[1],[Measures].[MyBaseMeasure]) select [Measures].[MyCalcMeasure] on columns, [MyDim].[MyHierarchy].[Level1].members on rows from MyCube
But this works
with member [Measures].[MyCalcMeasure] as [Measures].[MyBaseMeasure] select [Measures].[MyCalcMeasure] on columns, [MyDim].[MyHierarchy].[Level1].members on rows from MyCube
As does this
with member [Measures].[MyCalcMeasure] as ([Date Submitted].[Date Submitted YQMD].[month].&[2008]&[1],[Measures].[MyBaseMeasure]) select [Measures].[MyCalcMeasure] on columns, [MyDim].[MyHierarchy].[Level1].members on rows from MyCube
I have a specific variation on the standard 'Column Invalid' question: I have this query that works fine:
SELECT vd.Question , csq.Q# , csq.Q_Sort , csq.Q_SubSort , AVG(CAST(vd.Response AS FLOAT)) AS AvgC , vd.RType
[Code] ....
When I add this second average column like this:
SELECT vd.Question , csq.Q# , csq.Q_Sort , csq.Q_SubSort , AVG(CAST(vd.Response AS FLOAT)) AS AvgC ,
[Code] ....
I get the error: Column 'dbo.vwData.Response' is invalid in the select list because it is not contained in either an aggregate function or the GROUP BY clause.
Clearly things are in the right place before the change, so I can only assume that the OVER clause is my problem. Is this just not possible?
Hello all Trying to delete some data from a SSCE (2005) DB produces the exception: SqlCeException There was an error parsing the query. [ Token line number = 1,Token line offset = 43,Token in error = C] Here is the code I am using
I'm trying to insert some values into an SQL Compact database on a WM6 device but there is something apparently wrong with my SQL statement...
The program is going to allow users to schedule an SMS message to be sent at a certain date and time. I'm using a database to keep track of the scheduled SMS messages. The database has 3 rows: phone number, message, and the date/time to be sent.
I'm guessing it doesn't like how I am trying to get the data from the different text boxes and the DateTimePicker to go inside the SQL command. Does anyone have any ideas on how to fix my SQL command or how to get data from a textbox and DateTimePicker to be inserted into a database a different way?
Hello, I get the following error when I run my package interactively. From the logs written out by the driver, it appears that all is working well as far as connecting to the data source and pulling data. We have a email table in the database (SQL Server 2005). When we try to execute the Insert Stored Proc in the database to add a record and leave the EmailCC and EmailBCC fields blank we are getting the following error: Msg 201, Level 16, State 4, Procedure syl_EmailQueueInsert, Line 0Procedure or Function 'syl_EmailQueueInsert' expects parameter '@EmailCC', which was not supplied. The EmailCC and EmailBCC are set to allow nulls. Shouldn’t the system automatically insert nulls into those colums if no value is supplied??? What am I doing wrong? Newbie

I am using SQL Server 2005 Reporting Services. I want to make it secure. I am also using WCF services and made them secure using Claim based System.Identity Model.
I want to apply same claim based model to Reporting Services.
When i open any reports getting the below error message. An error occurred within the report server database. This may be due to a connection failure, timeout or low disk condition within the database.
(rsReportServerDatabaseError)Procedure or function 'CreateSession' expects parameter '@SiteZone', which was not supplied. Â
I have a report that uses a stored procedure as a dataset. The stored procedure accepts four parameters, which I have defined in the report. works fine in query builder and SSMS.
When I run the report I get an error stating a parameter is missing. I tried deleting parameters and recreating not luck.
Has anyone encountered this before? Procedure or Function 'stored procedure name' expects parameter '@parameter', which was not supplied. It seems that my code is not passing the parameter to the stored procedure. When I click this hyperlink: <asp:HyperLink ID="HyperLink1" Runat="server" NavigateUrl='<%# "../Division.aspx?CountryID=" + Eval("CountryID")%>' Text='<%# Eval("Name") %>' ToolTip='<%# Eval("Description") %>' CssClass='<%# Eval("CountryID").ToString() == Request.QueryString["CountryID"] ? "CountrySelected" : "CountryUnselected" %>'> </asp:HyperLink> it is suppose to get the country name and description, based on the country id. I am passing the country id like this. protected void Page_Load(object sender, EventArgs e) { PopulateControls(); } private void PopulateControls() { string countryId = Request.QueryString["CountryID"]; if (countryId != null) { CountryDetails cd = DivisionAccess.GetCountryDetails(countryId); divisionNameLabel.Text = cd.Name; divisionDescriptionLabel.Text = cd.Description; } } To my app code like this: public struct CountryDetails { public string Name; public string Description; } public static class DivisionAccess { static DivisionAccess() public static DataTable GetCountry() { DbCommand comm = GenericDataAccess.CreateCommand(); comm.CommandText = "GetCountry"; return GenericDataAccess.ExecuteSelectCommand(comm); } public static CountryDetails GetCountryDetails(string cId) { DbCommand comm = GenericDataAccess.CreateCommand(); comm.CommandText = "GetCountryDetails"; DbParameter param = comm.CreateParameter(); param.ParameterName = "@CountryID"; param.Value = 2; param.DbType = DbType.Int32; comm.Parameters.Add(param); DataTable table = GenericDataAccess.ExecuteSelectCommand(comm); CountryDetails details = new CountryDetails(); if (table.Rows.Count > 0) { details.Name = table.Rows[0]["Name"].ToString(); details.Description = table.Rows[0]["Description"].ToString(); } return details; }
As you can see I have two stored procedures I am calling, one does not have a parameter and the other does. The getcountry stored procedure returns the list of countries in a menu that I can click to see the details of that country. That is where my problem is when I click the country name I get Procedure or Function 'GetCountryDetails' expects parameter '@CountryID', which was not supplied Someone please help!

I wrote a CLR function, which is receiving some XML parameters. In certein situations it gives me the following error message:

If I cahnage one of the zeros in the given tag, the error message disappears. If i cut the given tag, the error message disappears. If I cut the given tag, and then paste the previous one in place of it, the error message APPEARS. So my conclusion is, that any tag can be wrong on a specific position in the XML. This makes me wonder.
Another wonderfull thing is, that if I take this CLR function, and the same TSQL code, and I do run it on my notbook with my SQL Express, no error message. But if I try to use it on the server, with SQL 2005 it drops me this error message. The resulting XML is coming from an SELECT FOR XML AUTO, so i suspect it not having illegal characters inside. This is probably true, becouse the above replace procedure can make the message disapear.

The following user function is returning an error "invalid object name admin.udfAlphaOnly." This worked for me in an SQL 2000 database as a user function. However, now I am trying to add this as a Scaler-valued function in SQL 2005. Could someone please help me find what is incorrect.
Well adding it to a group by or function skews the result set. How to write this query so it displays as I need it to? Â This is what I have thus far, and it works as it should UNTIL I add in the line ofÂ
cast(cte.[C] As float)/cast(sum(cte.[C]) over() as float)*100 As [Rate1],
Presents the error of: Msg 8120, Level 16, State 1, Line 35 Column 'cte.[C]' is invalid in the select list because it is not contained in either an aggregate function or the GROUP BY clause.
This is my full on query -- with 3 CTE's involved to get me the actual result set I am after. Â
;with cte as ( select [state], case when exists (select 1 from table2 R where R.centername = d.centername) then 1 else 0 end as [L], case when exists (select 1 from table3 C where C.centername = d.centername) then 1 else 0 end as [C] FROM maintable d ),
I'm trying to create a function that splits up a column by spaces, andI thought creating a function that finds the spaces with CHARINDEX andthen SUBSTRING on those values would an approach. I am using a simple procedure to pivot results (found in another forum and adapted it). It is done on SQL Server 2005 server with all service packs. Procedure: ************** ALTER Procedure [dbo].[EthnicityPivot] @StDate as Datetime, @EndDate as Datetime as begin DECLARE @Teams varchar(2000)
truncate table ForEthnicPivot
INSERT INTO ForEthnicPivot SELECT DISTINCT COUNT(ID), Team, Ethnicity FROM dbo._EthnicityByTeamEpisode where Startdate between @StDate and @EndDate GROUP BY Ethnicity, Team
SET @Teams = '' --// Get a list of the pivot columns that are important to you.
SELECT @Teams = @Teams + '[' + Team + '],' FROM (SELECT Distinct Team FROM ForEthnicPivot) Team --// Remove the trailing comma
SET @Teams = LEFT(@Teams, LEN(@Teams)-1) --// Now execute the Select with the PIVOT and dynamically add the list --// of dates for the columns EXEC( 'SELECT * FROM ForEthnicPivot PIVOT (SUM(countID) FOR Team IN (' + @Teams + ')) AS X' ) end ************
I can call the function: exec EthnicityPivot '01/01/2007','09/09/2007'
and it works fine in SQL analyzer, but when I want to use it in Visual Studio in a new report I am getting this error message:
There is an error in the query. Invalid length parameter passed to the SUBSTRING function. Incorrect syntax near ')'.
Hi, I am new at sql 2000 and 2005, I have created a package in 2005 which I am trying to execute on a daily bases by creating a job. At first because of security issues the job would not execute. Hence, I had to create a credential and a proxy to run the job with sa account. Now it is giving me this error, €œSQLServer Error: 536, Invalid length parameter passed to the SUBSTRING function. €œ Through research I have no clue as what I need to do, or where to look. The package runs without error when I execute the package itself. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks, Lori

Which is the best solution for my issue ? develop store procedure ??
I have a query I'm using in a report. It runs fine until I add the code with a declared variable called @Total. I'm thinking it has something to do with how Im trying to use3 the variable in the query before the UNION ALL.
