Selecting Data Depending On Matrix Visibility

I have a matrix report where I drill down from a business' divisional level to an office level. A subreport is generated by clicking on the relevant data field. However, when at divisional level, clicking on the data field simply generates the data from the first office row. I want it so that when the column is collapsed to divisional level, it shows the data for the entire division.
So... is there any way I can write an expression that creates different subreports based on whether a matrix column is expanded or collapsed?

i have a report that contains a sub-report that is embeded in one of the textboxes of the table. what i am trying to do
is have the main table toggle visilibity based on the value of the sub-report...in my case the toggle is very simple - if the sub-report returns any value at all, then i need the row in the parent table to be 'visible'
any help would be greatly appreciated.

Matrix Toggle Image Visibility
Feb 25, 2008I'm attempting a create a matrix report that will have some rows with drilldown data and some without. On the rows without drilldown data, I wanted to hide the toggle image so that the user would know there was none available. So far, I've only been able to accomplish this by creating a duplicate row group and displaying no text for its cell. Then by changing its visibility, the toggle image would go away. However; while this makes the report look good, it breaks the export to excel because the other row column that contains the data must stay visible and the excel drill down functionality goes away.
Does anyone have a way of changing the visibility of the toggle image on a row by row basis within the Matrix control?
Any assistance would be appreciated!

I am very new to SQL and ran into a problem using Access. I hope you can help me here.
The question is the following:
I have to tables:
Table 4x4: CommodityCode(string)/NeedofBU(high,low)
Table ASDBComplete: CommodityCode/Manufacturer/Rating(red,green,yellow)
What I want to get as a result is to display all ComodityCodes that have a 'red' rating and a 'high' NeedOfBU. So far no problem. But now there usually is more than one manufacturer for one CommodityCode. What I need now is that the CommodityCode is not displayed if there actually exist a Manufacturer with 'green' or 'yellow' rating.
How would you do that?
What I have so far is:
SELECT [4x4].[CommodityCode], [4x4].NeedofBU, ASDBComplete.CommodityCode, ASDBComplete.Rating, ASDBComplete.Manufacturer
FROM 4x4 LEFT JOIN ASDBComplete ON [4x4].[CommodityCode] = ASDBComplete.CommodityCode

But this gives me all the Commodities with red ratings. Even if there is a supplier with a green or yellow rating.
I would need somting like:
if exists 'commodityCode.XY with 'manufacuturer rating = green OR yellow' do not display commodityCode.xy

SQL Server 2008 :: Insert Data Into Table Variable But Need To Insert 1 Or 2 Rows Depending On Data
Feb 26, 2015I am writing a query to return some production data. Basically i need to insert either 1 or 2 rows into a Table variable based on a decision as to does the production part make 1 or 2 items ( The Raw data does not allow for this it comes from a look up in my database)
I can retrieve all the source data i need easily but when i come to insert it into the table variable i need to insert 1 record if its a single part or 2 records if its a twin part. I know could use a cursor but im sure there has to be an easier way !

Oct 16, 2015trivial example, i have a tabular model for orderlines.Each line has a product.A product fits under a hierarchy Category > Product.I need to display the top N rows by quantity under each category. My can break down as follows: Warehouse, Â Product category, Product, PurchaserID
If im to do the top N in excel i use pivot table functions to get the top N by whatever measure i pick from the dropdown:I cant do this in powerbi builder though, as it works very differently, or powerview which again is done differently.Do i have to take a different approach depending on the report platform, Â or is there a way to do this in the tabular model that will work on any platform?
Need Script For Column Visibility Based On Group's Visibility Toggle

I'm using SSRS 2005
I'm trying to write an expression for the "Hidden" property of a column in a table. The column is only populated with data if the group on my table is open. If the group is collapsed, then the column is empty. I'd like to make the column hidden if the group is collapsed. So I'm thinking it would be something like this:
=Iif(Table_1_Group.Hidden = "True", "True", "False")
But I can't find anyone who has written this anywhere.
I'm basically trying to make this report do the same thing a matrix does, but the matrix doesn't let me label the columns. I put textboxes above the matrix in line with the columns, but when I deploy the report to ReportManager, the textboxes get thrown all over the place and don't line up with the columns anymore.
So I guess if you can't answer the first question, an alternate question I have is how are you supposed to label the columns (row groups) in your matrix? They don't have headers, if I try to line textboxes up with them they get all messed up during deployment. They have that textbox up there in the top left corner that runs across the top of all of the row group columns, but if I put labels separated spaces in that textbox, the spaces get removed in rendering so the text is pushed all to the left and doesn't line up anymore.

Dec 3, 2007In a package we have statements pointing to 2(or more) different databases on the server. When moving between environments, is there an easy way to change statements like:
UPDATE t1
SET t1.name = t2.name,
t1.age = t2.age
FROM DB1..Person t1
INNER JOIN DB2..PersonToo t2
ON t1.PersonID = t2.PersonID
I can think only of building the statements replacing the database names with variables, but that's not an easy way. I do not know how to use package variables in this situation.
1 way of doing this may be by using a Lookup or Conditional Split and use the resulting dataflow in a SP or such to update, using parameters...
It all sounds very messy, and I still don't know how
Any ideas?

Table Visibility Problem

When empty, and hidden property set to false only one line apears blank in my report, but if i set the hidden property to true it results in an empty space with the same height as the table i´m trying to hide.
My goal is to have no blank spaces at all when a table is empty.

Altering Strings Depending On Data In A Table.

I'm wondering if an idea I'm playing with is feasible and if so, how you would recommend implementing it.
Let's say I have a Dictionary table, 2 columns:
Word | Definition
And I have a string - "The cat sat on the dog"
If there's a definition for "cat" in the dictionary table, I want to alter the string so it becomes "The >>cat<< sat on the dog"
At the same time, if there's also a definition for "dog" then my string now becomes "The >>Cat<< sat on the >>Dog<<"
The idea being that when I manipulate the data in my ASP I can replace() the >><< with specific HTML code. (I'm trying to recreate the "in text" advertising thing that lots of people seem to be using - but not doing adverts, just information for our users - Someone hovers over a highlighted word, and with a little bit of Ajax, I can pull the definition out...
I'm not sure (but I'm suspecting) that it would make more sense to do this as I'm storing the string in a table, rather than as I'm pulling it out ready for use (don't want to be slowing my end users down )
Any ideas?

Insert Data Depending On Year Value In Table

Can anyone help? I currently have this query that imports distinct data into a prices table with a couple of contraints. This table became to large so I have now split this down into yearly tables (dbo.price --> dbo.price2001, dbo.price2002 etc). I get the data each day in another table that may contain data for different years so I need to be able to look at this data and insert into the right yearly tables.
E.g. present query:
Insert Prices
select distinct M.ids, C.zdateT, 1.0,0 from mapid as M,datacorrect as C
where M.asset = 'money'
and C.zDate not in (select zdate from price where sid >=15)
So I need to run this query for each yearly table with a date listed in the datacorrect table (insert prices(yr) yr = 2002,2003,2004 etc)
Any ideas would be appreciated!!

Overriding Visibility Toggle Or Making The Toggle Of Rows Conditional

I have five rows in a group header.
The top row is a true header row with details that will always be there and will always be visible.
The bottom four rows have their Visibility.Hidden property set to 'TRUE'.
All four of the bottom rows are assigned the same Visibility.ToggleItem.
Of the four bottom rows, any or all of them may not have data at any one time.
I want to find a way of allowing the rows to toggle from hidden to visible, but if one or all of the rows have a field item whose value is 0 then that row must remain invisible regardless of whether it is toggled.
I am still working on this puzzle, but if someone can provide me with an easy solution while I struggle, I would greatly appreciate it.

Issues On Setting The Table Visibility Using An Expression

I'm working on Reporting service 2005. When I give an expression for visibility of a table in a report based on a parameter, the contents are coming in a single page and it is not based on the interactive size of the report. I want the data to be coming on different pages based on the interactive size of the page. If the visibility is set directly it works. Could you please help me to solve this issue?

Paging Issue On Conditionally Set Second Table Visibility
Aug 26, 2006Hi. I am having a problem with a 2005 report that has two tables and is designed thru visual studio. The second table is set to page break before printing and also to repeater headers on new pages. It works fine just like that. However, if I place a condition on the visibilty of the table based on an input report parameter it does not page break before rendering the table. In fact it does not page break at all leaving me with an extremely long last page. The visiblity parameter does properly toggle. This is all occurring when rendering the report to the screen using the windows reportviewer. When I export to PDF it looks fine.
Any help would be great.
SQL 2012 :: Insert ID Column Value Into Table Depending Upon Input Filename
May 19, 2015I am loading files with same format from two different locations in to one database. First, my SSIS connects to location 1.
Lets Say
Location1 : C:LoadFilesImport
Location2 : D:LoadFilesImport
Location one has three different set files starting with
First Set: AP_1, AP_2,AP_3,
Second Set: VD_1, VD_2, VD_3,
Third Set: BK_1,BK_2,BK_3,
This SSIS set to run every 3 hours, if it finds files of any set load them. While loading it has to insert into a derivedcolumn called CustID. If the file name Starts with AP_ , custiD values should be as 101
AP_1 goes to Table1
AP_2 goes to Table2
AP_3 goes to Table3
If the file name Starts with VD_ , custiD values should be as 201
If the file name Starts with BK_ , custiD values should be as 301
after processing all these files in first location, the SSIS looks for files in second location and does the same?

This code works pretty well. But I don't want to do this with "select" since there is OUTPUT clause in T-SQL. So the CommandText property will be changed into this;

values(2, getdate(), getdate(), 'sdfg', 1, DEFAULT);";
well, not only this statement gives an error while executing; but also, no such usage defined in the
documentation of OUTPUT Clause. Actually the documentation tell us to use Temporary Tables for that. So I have to change CommandText into this;
command.CommandText = @"DECLARE @MyTableVar table(ID int, CREATETIME smalldatetime);
insert PERMISSION
output INSERTED.ID, INSERTED.CREATETIME into @MyTableVar
code]....
No temporary tables required; thus, no "type spesific" things required. This way is easier to create dynamic queries though. Only,the RETURNING INTO clause.So, I was wondering; why MS-SQL (T-SQL) forces users to "declare a temporary table (type specific)" and "execute select on the temporary table in order to assign values to output parameters" while using "the OUTPUT Clause". Comparing to the Oracle's sample I'm just using "the RETURNING INTO Clause in order to assign values to output parameters" and that's it; very easy and dynamic. To Summarize, Oracle's RETURNING INTO Clause is better than MS-SQL's OUTPUT Clause, but in fact they're doing the same job.
SQL 2012 :: Disable Logins Automatically Depending Upon Expiry Date In A Table?
Jun 4, 2014Disable logins on access expiry date(Not windows password expiry). we grant access to users on databases only for 60 days. So access is only valid for 60 days. Then the user should again request access to the database going thru security clearance. Thn the DBA's enable the login. Maintaining all these logins of users manually is causing more confusion.
As we know, we dont have any inbuilt functionality to automatically disable logins in SQL Server.
I have a table where the logins and expirydate were recorded in a DB.
Using this table and SQL Server agent. Can i achieve this process automated ?

Table Visibility Not Functioning Correctly On Server, Works Fine In Visual Studio
Feb 13, 2007I have a report problem. I'm using a parameter to dynamically control visibility for two tables. If the parameter is set to one value, I want to switch one of the tables to invisible, if the parameter is set to another, I want the other table to be invisible instead.
This all works fine in Visual Studio. When I publish it to my report server, the visibility controls no longer function and both tables always display. Any ideas here?

My Dataset Is Saving Only The First Image Saved In The Database In Subsquent Rows
Mar 13, 2007When i click upload image button when my database table has no any row, the selected image is saved(one row saved in table). If i continue and select a different image, i get no error sa if the image has been saved but when i view the images i have been saving, its strange even if i saved 10 records they all contain the first image that i saved. In short only the first image is saved the rest of the rows are just duplicates of the first row. so it basically becomes a table of ten rows but with same data rows(same image). Code is below.

SELECT Id, Singnature FROM MailsSignature WHERE (Id = SCOPE_IDENTITY())
For testing I created a desktop application and found that the same Code, same(Use existing stored procedure in TableAdpater Configuration Wizard) and same stored procedure is working fine in inserting image into the table.
Is there any limitation in CF?

When expoting data from excel to sql server table, using SSIS package, after exporting is done, how would i check source rows are equal to destination rows. If not to throw an error message.
How can we handle transactions in SSIS
1. when some error/something happens during export and the # of rows are not exported fully to destination, how to rollback the transaction in SSIS.
Any sort of help would be highly appreciated.

INSERT into [SRV1INS2].BB.dbo.Agents2
select * from [SRV2INS14].DD.dbo.Agents
I just want to set a Trigger on Agents2 Table, which could delete all rows in the table , before carry out any Insert operation using above statement.I had below Table Trigger on [SRV1INS2].BB.dbo.Agents2 Table as below: But it did not perform what I intend to do.
