Guys,
1st of all.. sorry about my english ok? Im from Brazil...
Im trying to get a RS connecting through 2 databases with the query
below:
SELECT
scar..osbalcao.numeroos,
ccell.dbo.atrib_os.os
FROM
ccell.dbo.atrib_os
JOIN scar.dbo.osbalcao on ccell.dbo.atrib_os.os =
scar.dbo.osbalcao.numeroos
WHERE scar.dbo.osbalcao.localprod = '257'
AND scar.dbo.osbalcao.status in ('EM')
On a SQL IDE i got a good RS, but, when i try to use that same query on
Delphi + ZEOS, the SQL Server tells me that "The database name
component of the object qualifier must be the name of the current
database".
I really dont understand why. I can only tell that the error is
returned from SQL Server.
Have anyone got the same trouble?

I have created a sql login account called "webuser" and has given public role in my database. In my asp.net application i build connection string using above account and its password . We give permission on store procedure for for the above account to execute .We dont give table level permission for the above account . When we run the application with the above settings it runs fine on test server . However Now i have transfered the databse object to live server with its permissions . Now while I executing the aspx page , I am getting above error . I have checked that the store procedure has execute permission for webuser account and dbo(i.e SA) has all the permissions for all database objects . Still why i am getting error ? (Please note , the thing is working fine in test server)

Hi,
I am creating reports for an application, that when installed can have various different table owners/qualifiers depending on how client created the DB. How can I create standard reports across all the DB without hardcoding the tablenames qualifier/owner in the dataset query? Again the table structure remain the same just the qualifiers may be different. Any help would be great.

I've ran into trouble while creating a rather simple transformation script component (one input, one output). The only thing it has to do is test the values coming from it's input rows and set the values of the output rows according to some rules; something like:

This raises an "Object reference not set to an instance of an object." exception. Commenting out the input (Row.UserAgent) solves the exception, but I actually do need to test the contents of the input row (and by leaving only the output manipulation, the script won't reach it's end, the components remain yellow). What can I do about this?

General Users got an error message when trying to access any reports we have created.
All admin have no problems with the reports. Users (Domain Users) are given rights (Browser) to the reports and the Data Sources (Browser) and yet cannot view the reports.

I just realized recently that a database "XYZ" in the Object Explorer of my SQL Server Management Studio Express (SSMSE) is put in the Database Explorer of my VB 2005 Express for processing a Stored Procedure in executing the SELECT statements (not by using Input and/or Output Parameters) during the ADO.NET 2.0-VB 2005 Express programming, then the content of the database "XYZ" is not in the SSMSE. How can I return the database "XYZ" from the DataBase Explorer of VB 2005 Express back to the Object Explorer of SQL Server Management Studio Express (SSMSE) safely? Please help and advise.

Hello,
When I open a query analyzer , of a particular database for example 'AB'
when writting a query how can I get the databasename that I am executing
i.e in the result I should get the DB name.
I was trying select name from master..sysdatabases . But it was returning all DB names.
Also while running a query , can I prompt for the DB name , so that that particular db name can be used to run that procedure or query.

I was wondering if it was possible to check what server database you are currently connected to, using T-SQL, when executing commands in Query Analyzer. Even though you choose the server and database when connection, sometimes by habit you may connect to the wrong server & DB, and execute an .SQL file. Is it possible to put a line of T-SQL at the beginning that performs this pseudo-code, as a safety feature:-- While in Query Analyzer with a certain .SQL file open:If current server <> 'TheCorrectServer' and current DB <> 'TheCorrectDB' then cancel this .SQL file execution.

I have a *.sql script that creates database tables, and I need to modify the database to enable the service broker. In addition, the actual name of the database is not known in advance - it is set per instance of the application.
I know I need to do:
ALTER DATABASE dbname SET ENABLE_BROKER
But I must avoid including the name of the database in the script. I did wonder if this would work:
DECLARE @DB varchar(50)
SELECT @DB = DB_NAME()
ALTER DATABASE @DB SET ENABLE_BROKER
But I just get a syntax error. Presumably this also rules out setting the database name as a parameter to the script (SqlParameter stuff)
The only option I can think of is dynamically creating the statement, either in T-SQL or in the calling .NET environment.
Any thoughts?

Can someone please help me with the following error?
I am trying to create a trigger that copies data from a table in one database to another. However I am getting the error 'Cannot create trigger on databasename.dbo.tablename as the target is not in the current database.

I'm trying to determine proper end date for measuring the effectiveness of my client's email campaigns. For each email address that received the campaign, I would like to determine a measurement end date. This date should be the lesser of 7 days from the Sent date or the date of the last email offer. This way, I prevent double-counting the revenue associated with each email campaign. Here's an example of what I'd like to see for each unique Sent Date and Email Address:
Sent Date Email Address Measurement End Date <<<< This is what I'm trying to derive with a script
2/22/2007 test@test.com 2/29/2007 <<<< 7 days from Sent Date
2/18/2007 test@test.com 2/22/2007 <<<< 4 days from Sent date due to the 2/22/2007 email
1/20/2007 test@test.com 1/27/2007 <<<< 7 days from Sent Date
etc.
If the input data stream is sorted by Email Address and descending Sent Date, then I need to be able to compare the Sent Date on the current record to the Sent Date on the next record (until the Email Address changes and then the process starts over).
I'm open to any solutions as this has really stumped me for awhile.

I have an SSIS package with its TransactionOption set to 'Required'. A data flow in the package has a script component that performs updates to a database table. The TransactionOption on the data flow is set to 'Supported'. However the script component apparently does no get enlisted to the current transaction because the updates made in the script component do not get rolled back when the package fails.
Documentation about the AquireConnection method indicates passing a 'transaction handle' parm to the AquireConnection method. I'm thinking that I need to pass this 'transaction handle' to the AquireConnection method of the connection used by the script in order for the script to become part of the current transaction.
How do I determine it what the transaction handle is? I have no idea what value I should be passing. I am new to Sql Server beginning with Sql Server 2005. I have no background with DTC.
My code in the script currently is:
dbConnMgr = Me.Connections.ADONetConnection
dbConnection = CType(dbConnMgr.AcquireConnection(Nothing), SqlConnection)
I need to pass the transaction handle rather than 'Nothing' to the AquireConnection method but don't know what the transaction handle is.

Hi, I've just started using SQL Server Express with VWDE 2005 and I have a database with one table called EVENTS which has a datetime column called DATE. I want to select records where the DATE value is in the next two months.First I tried selecting records where the DATE value is >= today. I used the query builder to produce... SELECT [Date], [Title] FROM [Events] WHERE [Date] >= GETDATE()but got the error "Undefined function 'GETDATE' in expression".Am I missing something obvious?

Hi,
I'm trying to create an SQL script that creates a new login account for each of our databases. The one remaining problem with the sql is it could not set the current database using a variable(e.g. USE @dbasename). I tried looking for another way of setting the current database but could not find one.
Is there any other way of setting the current database other than the USE command?
Any help/suggestion will be appreciated.

We're building a simple logging facility and would like to systematically determine the name of the current T-SQL object(i.e., the procedure name or function name) to provide this as a logging parameter. For example, in procedure FooBar, I'd like to be able to call a system function that will return 'FooBar', the name of the current object. Does such a feature exist?

I have recently installed SQL 2005 I use the SQL ecpress and management studio. In the SQL server Management Studio, when I right click on the database and use the SQL Server Import and Export wizard, I can import databases from the web hosting I'm workign with to my mycomputer, but cannot export them.
When I try to export database tables with the SQL Server Import and Export wizard

This might cause some operations with this database to fail.I use sa to log into the management studio aand creat teh database after I login.
