How To Know If SQL Server 2005 Trial Version Is Installed?

Jan 11, 2007

When I ran @@version I get this:
Microsoft SQL Server 2005 - 9.00.2047.00 (Intel X86) Apr 14 2006 01:12:25 Copyright (c) 1988-2005 Microsoft Corporation Standard Edition on Windows NT 5.2 (Build 3790: Service Pack 1)

I assume this is a licensed version because the std edition does not have a trial license? Can someone confirm this?

If this were a trial version, what could I expect to see?

Installing Full Version Of 2005 Server On A Machine That Already Has Reporting Services On It

Jan 7, 2008

Hi there,

I'm trying to install the common components for SQL 2005 on a server that already has Reporting Services 2005 installed on it. It keeps comng up with an error:
"To change an existing instance of Microsoft SQL Server 2005 to a different edition of SQL Server 2005, you must run SQL Server 2005 Setup from the command prompt and include the SKUUPGRADE=1 parameter."

The Reporting Services install has had SP2 applied to it, would that be what is messing up the install?

I have very little experience with SQL so any info would be helpful.

Thanks!

Reporting Services 2005 - Showing Wrong Version

Hi

I installed RS 2005, SP1 and then the rollup fix 2153 however; if I run http://server/reportserver or view the reportserver log file, it shows version 2047 which is the SP1 version. I have added the tail end of the rollup hotfix log file which shows I have installed it.

Replication With Trial Version

Nov 29, 2006

Hi all.

Any assistance regarding this would be greatly appreciated.

We are currently in the process of setting up replication, and I need to do some testing prior to putting this into production.

I would like to test the replication using SQL Server 2005 Standard edition as this is the version we will be implementing on our servers. My question is this - is there a trial version of the Standard Edition as my understanding is that the trial version that can be downloaded from Microsoft's website is the Enterprise Edition. If it is the enterprise edition, I am concerned that my tests will not be a true reflection of our proposed systems.

Does anyone know where I can obtain the Standard Edition trial version?

Many thanks.

Server 2005 Express Vs Advanced SErvices Version

Sep 7, 2007

Our new version of a VB.net 2005 program uses

Install Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Express Edition

While upgrading a client over PCAnywhere in another state, I inadvertantly installed

Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Express Edition with Advanced Services

I have had an absolute nightmare with SQL 2005 uninstalling it from a laptop on my desk, so you can understand why I don't want to try uninstalling the Advanced Services version on a computer over PCAnywhere.

However, the remote computer does not have IIS on it, which prompts a warning form Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Express Edition with Advanced Services.

So, the simple question is, if the program works Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Express Edition then I assume it will work with Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Express Edition with Advanced Services, since it doesn't use any advance services.

Please advise.

Legitimising SQL Server7 Trial Version

Jun 18, 1999

Hi,

The company finally bought a legitimate copy of SQL Server 7. There was nothing special on my trial version, so I chose the uninstall option from the start menu (it was on my Win95 PC). It removed the files, but didn't uninstall the registry bits though! When trying to install the proper version of SQL 7 it has detected the other version, but no files & won't let me install the legitimate version. Can anyone tell me how to get around this to install the new version?

Thanks

How To Know The Reporting Services Version At Runtime

Apr 2, 2007

HI, can anybody help me?
I have a problem. With the sqlserver 2005 sp2 some behavieur are differt from previous versions.
For example with service pack 1 there isn't the "select all" option for multi value parameters, so i add MY select all, but with service pack 2 there is the "select all" option for multivalue paramteres, so when my reports are running under a server with service pack 2 in the list of multivalue parameter I'm going to find "Select all" and "MY select all"
It is possible to know at runtime under which version my repors will be running? so I can use or not MY select all. (i cannot force client with a particular version)

Reporting Services :: How To Get Add-in For SharePoint Version To Sync With SSRS Engine

Oct 23, 2015

I have installed SQL 2012 on my DB Server. The SSRS database version table(s) list the current version as 163. The Version number that's displayed in the Programs and Features for SSRS Add-in for SharePoint (yes, on the db server) is 11.2.5623.0.

On my two SharePoint servers the version number for SSRS Add-in for SharePoint shows 11.2.2058. I have installed SQL Server 2012 Service Pack 2 on all three machines. When the SharePoint box calls into SSRS to render a report I get this error:

The version of the report server database is either in a format that is not valid, or it cannot be read. The found version is '163'. The expected version is '162'. --->

Microsoft.ReportingServices.Library.InvalidReportServerDatabaseException:

The version of the report server database is either in a format that is not valid, or it cannot be read. The found version is '163'. The expected version is '162'.

what else I need to install - and where - to correct this error. What is expecting version '162' and why?

Can I Install A Enterprise Version Analysis Service On A Standard Version Of SQL 2005 Server?

Hi all,

Since some analysis services features are only available in Enterprise version , I have to upgrade my SQL 2005 server from standard edition to enterpise edition.

So I uninstall originial standard version of analysis service and install a Enterprise version. However, the analysis service is still a standard version after installation.

Is it possible to keep data engine as standard version and install a enterprise version of analysis service?

Thank you very much

Migrate From 32bit 2000 Reporting Services To 2005 64bit Reporting Services

Mar 22, 2008

Hello,

I am trying to migrate my reports from SQL server 2000 reporting services 32bit to 2005 64bit. I am following the migration steps that MS specified.
Restored my Reportserver and ReportserverTempDB databases
Then I was using the configure Report services to upgrade these databases but I always end up getting the follwoing exception when I run the upgrade on the "Database Setup" configuration for 'ReportServerTempDB' database
System.Data.SqlClient.SqlException: Could not locate entry in sysdatabases for database 'ReportServerTempDBTempDB'. No entry found with that name. Make sure that the name is entered correctly.
at System.Data.SqlClient.SqlConnection.OnError(SqlException exception, Boolean breakConnection)
at System.Data.SqlClient.SqlInternalConnection.OnError(SqlException exception, Boolean breakConnection)
at System.Data.SqlClient.TdsParser.ThrowExceptionAndWarning(TdsParserStateObject stateObj)
at System.Data.SqlClient.TdsParser.Run(RunBehavior runBehavior, SqlCommand cmdHandler, SqlDataReader dataStream, BulkCopySimpleResultSet bulkCopyHandler, TdsParserStateObject stateObj)
at System.Data.SqlClient.SqlCommand.RunExecuteNonQueryTds(String methodName, Boolean async)
at System.Data.SqlClient.SqlCommand.InternalExecuteNonQuery(DbAsyncResult result, String methodName, Boolean sendToPipe)
at System.Data.SqlClient.SqlCommand.ExecuteNonQuery()
at Microsoft.ReportingServices.Common.DBUtils.ApplyScript(String connectionString, String script)
at ReportServicesConfigUI.SqlClientTools.SqlTools.ApplyScript(String connectionString, String script)

It's driving me crazy, why is it looking for 'ReportServerTempDBTempDB' in the catalog instead of 'ReportServerTempDB'?
Is it possible to migrate from 32bit to 64bit?

Any help is appreciated
