Unknown Datetime Error In Query (Overflow At Runtime)
Aug 2, 2005
Hi all,
I have the following query...
SELECT Count(*)
FROM Incidents I
WHERE (Priority = 1)
AND (Time_First_Unit_On_Scene IS NOT NULL)
AND (DateDiff(s, Time_ClockStart, Time_First_Unit_On_Scene) <= 480)
AND (Response_Date BETWEEN '1-Apr-2004')
AND ('31-Mar-2005 23:59:59')
AND (I.Disposition_ID <> 9 )
...and I get the following error message...
System.Data.OleDb.OleDbException: Difference of two datetime columns caused overflow at runtime.
At my job is a dts package that is failing in SQL 2005. I am not a SQLexpert. I am just trying to fix. I put the query in Query Analyzerand get this error:(4322 row(s) affected)Server: Msg 535, Level 16, State 1, Line 1Difference of two datetime columns caused overflow at runtime.I am just trying to understand what this means, what I should belooking for and what could be wrong. I am using SQLCE for a backend database for a desktop application. I have a data entry form which is using a DateTimePicker control that is bound to a Date field in my table. It defaults to Todays date. I cant seem to consistently reproduce the behavior but occastionally when I try to save the data via...
"An overflow occurred while converting to datetime."
So even though I could enter several records, when I save the data, this error throws and I lose all the new records I have entered.
Does anybody have a clue as to what the heck could be causing this error? If so, any ideas how I can fix it? When looking at the data the dates all seem to be entering properly into the database?
Hi all,In the beginning of this month I've build a website with a file-upload-control. When uploading a file, a record (filename, comment, datetime) gets written to a SQLExpress database, and in a gridview a list of the files is shown. On the 7th of September I uploaded some files to my website, and it worked fine. In the database, the datetime-record shows "07/09/2006 11:45". When I try to upload a file today, it gives me the following error: Error: Arithmetic overflow error converting expression to data type datetime. The statement has been terminated. While searching in google, i found it might have something to do with the language settings of my SQLExpress, I've tried changing this, but it didn't help. What I find weird is that it worked fine, and now it doesn't anymore. Here is my code of how I get the current date to put it into the database:1 SqlDataSource2.InsertParameters.Add("DateInput", DateTime.Now.ToString()); Am I doing something wrong, or am I searching for a solution in the wrong place? best regards, Dimitri
Hi, I'm having this error with my page, user picks the date -using the AJAX Control Toolkit Calender with the format of ( dd/MM/yyyy ). It looks like the application current format is MM/dd/yyyy, because it shows the error page if the day is greater than 12, like: 25/03/2007 What is wrong? Here is the error page: Server Error in '/' Application.
Arithmetic overflow error converting expression to data type datetime. The statement has been terminated. Description: An unhandled exception occurred during the execution of the current web request. Please review the stack trace for more information about the error and where it originated in the code. Exception Details: System.Data.SqlClient.SqlException: Arithmetic overflow error converting expression to data type datetime. The statement has been terminated. Any help will be appreciated!
The following codes give me the error "arithmetic overflow error converting expression to data type datetime" Unfortunately, the datatype of date of this database is still varchar(50)
select date from tbltransaction where datepart(wk,convert(datetime,date,103)) = 15
We run a regular query through Excel that is linked to a Microsoft SQL Server data source.
We have run this query routinely for the past few years. Suddenly this query has started returning an error message - “[Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver] [SQL Server] Difference of two datetime columns caused overflow at runtime. It seems to be a common error (as per Google search) however I don’t want to go messing around with something I don’t fully understand. Can anyone point me in the direction of what to look out for?
I'm using MS Report Designer 2005 and have created a report that uses a cube, with a dimension set up to convert null values to unknown (nullProcessing = UnknownMember).
When I create a parameter using the checkbox in the graphical design mode's filter pane, Report Designer automatically sets the constrained flag, eg:
When running the report and selecting the 'Unkown' value from the parameter list, the error 'the restrictions imposed by the CONSTRAINED flag in the STRTOSET function were violated' occurrs.
How can I prevent the constrained flag from being used, or am I doing something wrong with converting null values to 'Unknown'?
I get Invalid object name 'bstr'. when I try to run this querySelect distinct c0.oid, c1.Value, c2.Value, c3.ValueFrom(SELECT oid FROM dbo.COREAttributeWHERE CLSID IN ('{1449DB2B-DB97-11D6-A551-00B0D021E10A}','{1449DB2D-DB97-11D6-A551-00B0D021E10A}','{1449DB2F-DB97-11D6-A551-00B0D021E10A}','{1449DB31-DB97-11D6-A551-00B0D021E10A}','{1449DB33-DB97-11D6-A551-00B0D021E10A}','{1449DB35-DB97-11D6-A551-00B0D021E10A}','{1449DB37-DB97-11D6-A551-00B0D021E10A}','{1449DB39-DB97-11D6-A551-00B0D021E10A}','{1449DB3B-DB97-11D6-A551-00B0D021E10A}','{1449DB3D-DB97-11D6-A551-00B0D021E10A}','{1449DB3F-DB97-11D6-A551-00B0D021E10A}','{1449DB43-DB97-11D6-A551-00B0D021E10A}','{1449DB45-DB97-11D6-A551-00B0D021E10A}','{1449DB47-DB97-11D6-A551-00B0D021E10A}','{1449DB49-DB97-11D6-A551-00B0D021E10A}','{1449DB4B-DB97-11D6-A551-00B0D021E10A}','{1449DB4D-DB97-11D6-A551-00B0D021E10A}','{1449DB51-DB97-11D6-A551-00B0D021E10A}','{DAA598D9-E7B5-4155-ABB7-0C2C24466740}','{6921DAC3-5F91-4188-95B9-0FCE04D3A04D}','{128F17D4-2014-480A-96C6-370599F32F67}','{9F3A64C9-28F3-440B-B694-3E341471ED8E}','{2E3AB438-7652-4656-9A18-4F9C1DC27E8C}','{B69E74A7-0E48-4BA2-B4B7-5D9FFEDC2D97}','{2BB836D3-2DC1-4899-9406-6A495ED395C3}','{9CFFDC3A-5DF5-4AD8-B067-6EF5A9736681}','{E18E470B-B297-43D2-B9CD-71AF65654970}','{9BDCDA97-1171-409D-B3AB-71DA08B1E6D3}','{0E91AC62-7929-4B42-B771-7A6399A9E3B0}','{C8BAE335-CCB7-4F1D-8E9D-85C301188BE2}','{97E6E186-8F32-42E6-B81C-8E2E0D7C5ABA}','{BE5B6233-D4E7-4EF6-B5FC-91EA52128723}','{4ECDAAE1-828A-4C43-8A66-A7AB6966F368}','{19082B90-EF02-45CC-B037-AFD0CF91D69E}','{6F76CEF7-EBC0-48C6-8B78-C5330324C019}','{18492042-B22A-4370-BFA3-D0481800BBC7}','{A71343AD-CC09-4033-A224-D2D8C300904A}','{EC10BD0A-FDE3-4484-BEA6-D5A2E456256C}','{F7F8A4E1-651A-4A48-B55A-E8DA59D401B2}','{A923226F-B920-4CFA-9B0D-F422D1C36902}','{A95ACA6A-16AC-47E4-A9A6-F530D50A475A}','{C31DB61A-5221-42CF-9A73-FE76D5158647}')) AS c0 ,(select oid, dispid, valueFROM dbo.COREBSTRAttributeWHERE iid = '{1449DB20-DB97-11D6-A551-00B0D021E10A}') As bstrLEFT JOIN bstr AS c1ON (c0.oid = c1.oid)AND c1.dispid = 28LEFT JOIN bstr AS c2ON (c0.oid = c2.oid)AND c2.dispid = 112LEFT JOIN bstr AS c3ON (c0.oid = c3.oid)AND c3.dispid = 192thanksSunit

I have a really strange problem where I am receiving a ""An overflow occurred while converting to datetime Exception."
I have an existing database where I am making a copy of an old row, and updatting date/time fields. The old fields were filled with date/time and the columns are datetime columns.
Private Function CopyChildRowsDST(ByVal SearchID As Guid, ByVal CurrentParentID As Guid, _ ByVal dsttbl As DataTable) As Boolean Dim Rows() As DataRow = Ds.Tables("SrcTbl").Rows.Find(SearchID).GetChildRows(ChildrenRel) Dim NewEntityId As Guid For Each Row As DataRow In Rows NewEntityId = Guid.NewGuid Row(MDTbl.cgParentID) = CurrentParentID Select Case Row(MDTbl.csRecordType) Case RecordTypes.Directory CopyChildRowsDST(Row(MDTbl.cgEntityID), NewEntityId, dsttbl) Case RecordTypes.Topic ' Increment reference count and ticks of data Qury.IncrementReferenceCount(Row(MDTbl.cgDataID), _ ReferenceCount.Increment, Tables.DocumentTable) End Select Dim Rw As DataRow = dsttbl.NewRow : Rw.ItemArray = Row.ItemArray Rw(MDTbl.cgEntityID) = NewEntityId ' Rw(MDTbl.cdtDateCreated) = Curtime
'Rw(MDTbl.cdtDateModified) = Curtime dsttbl.Rows.Add(Rw) Next End Function After executing this code..... I do ...
Public Function PersistTable(ByVal Table As DataTable) As Boolean ' SqlCe.PersistTable - called by any routine needing to make €˜permanent changes in a table. ' Usually this would be midlevel procedures in IOSUBS Con.Open() : Dim Status As Boolean Using Adapter = New SqlCeDataAdapter("Select * from " & Table.TableName & " ;", Con) Adapter.UpdateCommand = New SqlCeCommand("Update " & Table.TableName & " ;", Con) Dim builder As New SqlCeCommandBuilder(Adapter) With builder : .QuotePrefix = "[" : .QuoteSuffix = "]" : End With Try Adapter.Update(Table) : Status = True Catch e As SqlCeException Con.Close() MsgBox("Error persisting Table: " + Table.TableName + vbCrLf + "Exception was: " + e.Message, _ MsgBoxStyle.Information,"ADONET.PersistTable") Return False Finally Con.Close() End Try Return Status End Using End Function If I include the two redlines of code, I recieve a time overflow exception WHEN UPDATING THE TABLE. Those database fields are datetime fields and the orginal rows have datetimes in them.
I got this error report "The string was not recognized as a valid DateTime. There is a unknown word starting at index 0." at this line of code in BOLD.
For some reasons the datetime format in the database has the (US datetime format - 05/02/2008 06:40 instead of United Kingdom (UK date time format - 02/05/2008 06:40), as I had planned. I have tried to reformat the database and VB date format and all to no success.Could this be the root of my problems?

i cannot seem to get rid of this error. My page works in other functions that have the same syntax and format. just this one doesnt. i tried changing the format but still the same thing. SQL DB is DateTime. Any Suggestions?

This is what I want to do:1. Delete all tables in database with table names that ends with anumber.2. Leave all other tables in tact.3. Table names are unknown.4. Numbers attached to table names are unknown.5. Unknown number of tables in database. For example:(Tables in database)AccountAccount1Account2BinderBinder1Binder2Binder3.......I want to delete all the tables in the database with the exceptionof Account and Binder.I know that there are no wildcards in the "Drop Table tablename"syntax. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to write this sqlstatement?Note: I am executing this statement in MS Access with the"DoCmd.RunSQL sql_statement" command. Thanks for any help!

I recently tried Re-Installing SQL Server 2005 and setup fails with the following error message. I found a forum that instructed me to make sure that the Distributed Transaction Corrdinator Service is started and that the NT AUTHORITYNetworkService is set under the Log on as tab. I verified both of those settings in my services snap-in under the management console. Looks like setup is failing during this section: Integration Services - Configuring Components...

I am trying to pump data from Sybase to SQL Server using SSIS and I get this error:

The data on the external column metadata shows as type database timestamp, as does the output column. The database values are all datetime, coming in through OLEDB to Sybase. Any idea what could be going on here?

Since my company doesn't have a designated mailbox for SQL Server, I set it up to use my personal mailbox and profile. I was able to get SQL Mail up and running but couldn't not figure out a correct user name to pass to xp_sendmail.
The usual format of our e-mail addresses is <last name><first name>@xxx.com so I tried '<last name><first name>', '<last name>, <first name>' (the same format shown in the Address Book)...etc. but none of those worked.
