We have Our Local DataBase(SQL Server) Guess eg. DBLocal
We have a requirements to update this DBLocal Table Data with Other Database DBRemote(SQL Server) table data.
This Task is Schedule in a Week. Means We needs to update this DBLocal Table Every Week from DBRemote Data.
Both Side we have only one table. Means Source is One Table and Destination is Table One.
Right Now I have a connection string for DBRemote(SQL Server) and SQL Statement for getting Data from DBRemote(SQL Server).
can any one tell me what I need to do for achive this requirement?
please provide me link also; from there i can get enough information for my requirements.
Hi All I am using following code for my application SELECT convert(varchar(10),acr._eventTime,120) [Date], sum(case r.Severity WHEN 'Warning' THEN 1 end)[Warning], isnull(sum(case r.Severity WHEN 'OK' THEN 1 end),0)[OK], FROM ActiveCheckIssueResult r GROUP BY convert(varchar(10),acr._eventTime,120)
it gives me Result as,
Date warning OK --------- --------- ----- 1/1/1008 1 1 2/1/2008 0 2
i want count on weekly basis Could any one help me?
I want the count of orders of a particular table on weekly basis i.e if date given to me is 10/3/2014 then my output should be count of orders from date 10/3/2014 to 09/3/2014(one week) then count of orders from 2/3/2014 to 08/3/2014(another week) and then from 24/2/2014 to 01/3/2014(another week).....
I have an original database that I want to copy once to another database. Then I want to update the data weekly with the data of the original database. I don€™t change any tables or columns in that part of the database. Just some tables more in the €˜new€™ database (than the tables from the original database) with some references to the tables that have to be updated weekly. How can I do this? (if you know what I mean... it's a sort of a datawarehouse where different sources come together.. that part that represents the original database is just a part of the datawarehouse. That part is exactly the same structure as the original database.)
I have a query that will generate records monthly based on the number of months that i calculate between two date feilds for a given requestid. How can i use the same query to generate records for weekly and bi weekly based on the receiveddate field that i use in the subtraction for calculating the number of months.
Also when inserting i have been adding a month for every record as i was generating monthly and now i would have to add week and 2 weeks to the receiveddate

hello guys ! i need a little help in an update statement.
i have two tables as
table1(id1,name) table2(id2,date,val2)
what i want is to set val2=45 in table2 where date=4/4/2007 (say) and id2, now id is to be obtained from table1 based on the name;
like table1 --------- (1,"akmal") (2,"peter") (3,"kamal")
I know the name as peter, but i want to used its id1 (2) in the update statement. You might have got the idea that id2 is a foreign key referring to id1.
Hi Everyone, I develop a asp.net 2.0 site with Sql2005 Database, now i want to publish it on a webhosting service. Once I copy the DB to app_data folder on webhosting, what i can do to update data from my local sql2000 server? I want update data daily, may I use SQL replication? How? I can access my sql2005 DB by FTP? Any ideas? Thanks a lot. Regards, Bordonhos
Need to write a query which would select data based on weekly wise based on the column Date. And week starts from Monday. Hence would reqiure a function or a query which would select only those records which would fall under respective Weeks.
I have 10 oracle o/p tables. I have to transfer data in monthly or adhoc basis. Each table will have millions of records. How to transfer Oracle to SQL Server 2005. Which is the best way to transfer the data.
Here is my Query, I don't know whether I'm getting it right?

Anyone have any experience in connecting to a Basis database? I want to build an SSIS package to ETL data out of a Basis database and into a sql server 2005 db. I have downloaded the ODBC driver, but am not usre how to plug it in to SSIS to do teh extraction.
Also I am totally new to Basis...it is not an RDBMS at all but the literature says it supports SQL queries, so I am not sure about where to start.
Hello All,i have 2 excel files which i want to upload to sql database. i know how to upload to the folder. my question how to i use these excel files and convert them into tables in sql database.i have to do this on a regular basis. is there anyway i can do this. the 2 files when converted to tables, i need to create relationships etc. any suggestions or references please. i appreciate it. I have an existing MS SQL database (2008 R2). I have a very simple SQL script. I need to run this script on a daily basis and save the results as a .csv file.
I've tried creating a job in SQL Manager - that didn't work. Then I found a tutorial that had me use MS Visual Studio... couldn't get that to function either.
what program I should be using, and how to go about creating this as a task / job that can run on a scheduled basis?
I've developed an application that uses SQL server (in particular localdb), and, I have just pushed it out to the client.
The client runs Windows 8.1 x64, but, when I try to install either x86 or x64 version of SQL LocalDB direct from Microsoft, I keep getting this error:
Microsoft SQL Server 2014 Express LocalDB
Installation of this product failed because it is not supported on this operating system. For information on supported configurations, see the product documentation.
I am using LocalDB on my Windows 8.1 dev machine.... .Net framework 3.5 and 4 are both installed already.
I can't connect to LocalDB using Visual Studio for Web Express 2012 or SMSS 2012 in a Windows 8 environment. LocalDB is installed and some things do work, however. The basic error is the very common:
Cannot connect to (LocalDB)v11.0.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
A network-related or instance-specific error occurred while establishing a connection to SQL Server. The server was not found or was not accessible. Verify that the instance name is correct and that SQL Server is configured to allow remote connections.
(provider: SQL Network Interfaces, error: 50 - Local Database Runtime error occurred. Error occurred during LocalDB instance startup: SQL Server process failed to start.
In a command window, I can query the state of LocalDB an "info" parameter:
C:Program FilesMicrosoft SQL Server110ToolsBinn>sqlLocalDB info SportsStore TestOfLoc v11.0
The first two are tests created at the command line using sqlLocalDB.I have reinstalled and repaired LocalDB several times with no errors reported.
I need to be able to create & connect to temporary databases programmatically, and NOT using the command-line, within a C# program. How would one go about doing this?
hi all, i have a local SQL server running with my Products table, now very soon we want to launch a website (asp.net 2.0 with sql 2k5), hosted on a shared environment, which synchronises with our local SQL. Replication is out of the question. i tested already with a webservice on our local server, but i can't find the right way how to periodically update our online Db.since our website has over 200 visits a day, i can't do a check everytime the code is launched. Our local server has a slow upload speed + is not 99.9% garantueed online... the dataset has a 1Mb file size. i do have a boolean which indicates if there are new products or not, in this way i don't have to download the full dataset on my local SQL.(i can provide a list with only the new products and a list of products which have to be deleted, but still, i'm looking for the best way WHEN to do the update) Forcing an update from my local server to the online server seems a problem since i have restricted rights on the online server.
i have a local SQL Server Express 2005 on my local machine and i want my software to update from the SQL Expres to the SQL Server when the user click the save button to keep an image of the local database on the remote server without having to backup a file and restore it?
Hi, I'm using "Microsoft SQL Server Database Publishing Wizard" to import and create database on a remote server. Is there a convenient tool to update SQL database on a remote server to match with database that I have on my computer?
I have a database on my web hosting site. It is a sql server 2005 database that was created in sql server management studio express. I can access this database in code using a connection string and do things like show results on my page. However I now want to do things like delete certain records, or update stored procedure criteria, usually I would do this by running sql in management studio but as my database is now online with the hosting company how would I do this?
Hiya! I'm developing an app. using SQL Server 7 (as the back end) for a company supporting approx. 200 unrelated clients, all in different locations. There is no LAN or WAN connection between them, so we'd probably need to use TCP/IP. The problem is as follows: We have dynamic reports in our app. which are run based on data in two tables. Whenever we add a new report we'd like to send it to all of our clients i.e. update their tables to reflect the additional rows of new report info. How would this best be handled, by DTS or Replication or BCP? And how could it be done with either?
I have an application that uses a MS SQL 2005 database. When data is changed in certain tables, that data needs to be pushed to a MySQL box. I've added the MySQL server as a linked server in SQL 2k5 and I can delete and insert data with no problem, however when I try to update I get the following error (query included):

I have been looking for a solution for this for some time and have came up empty handed.
I have 2 servers development box and a live box. Time has passed and my live box has a lot of new data in the database and now I need to update the dev box so I can properly test with real data. Problem here is I want to keep the records that are in the dev box, update them if they exsist on the live box, because live server may or may not contain that record and isert all records that are not on the dev box database.
I hope I am making some sense here, I think I am just making it more difficult then it has to be.
UPDATE CD SET col1=SR.col1,col2=SR.col2,col3=SR.col3,col4=SR.col4,col5=SR.col5,col6=SR.col6,col7=SR.col7,
col8=SR.col8,col9=SR.col9,col10=SR.col10
FROM LNKSQL1.db1.DBO.Table1 CD
join Table2 USRI on USRI.col00 = CD.col00
join table3 SR on USRI.col00 = SR.col00
Here, I'm trying to tun this from an instance and do a remote update. col00 is a primary key and there is a clustered index that exists on this column. When I run this query, it does a 'select * from tabl1' on the remote server and that table has about 60 million rows. I don't understand why it would do a select *... Also, we migrated to SQL 2005 a week or so back but before that everything was running smooth. I dont have the execution plan from before but this statement was fast. Right now, I can't run this statement at all. It takes about 37 secs to do one update. But if I did the update on a local server doing remote joins here, it would work fine. When I tried to show the execution plan, it took about 10 mins to show up an estimated plan and 99% of the time was spent on Remote scan. Please let me know what I can do to improve my situation. Thank you
In an ASP, I have a dynamically created SQL statement that amounts to "SELECT * FROM Server1.myDB.dbo.myTable WHERE Col1 = 1" (Col1 is the table's primary key). It returns the data immediately when executed.
However, when the same record is updated with "UPDATE Server1.myDB.dbo.myTable SET Comments = 'blah blah blah' WHERE Col1 = 1", the page times out before the query can complete.
I watched the program in Profiler, and I saw on the update that sp_cursorfetch was being executed as an RPC once per each row in the table. In a table of 78000 records, the timeout occurs well before the last record is fetched, and the update bombs.
I can run the same statements in Query Analyzer from a linked server and have the same results. The execution plan shows that a Remote Query is occurring on the select that returns 1 row, and a Remote Scan is taking place on the update scanning 78000 rows (I guess this is where all the sp_cursorfetch calls are happening...?).
How can I prevent the Remote Scan? How can I prevent the execution of the RPC sp_cursorfetch for each row in the remote table?
We do a 4:00AM weekly reboot of every SQL 7.0 server on NT4 scheduled as a SQL Agent job using the os command "shutdown servername /l /c /y /r". The problem is some of the SQL servers recognize the NT shutdown command and gracefully exit out of SQL first with the SQL log entry "SQL Server terminating because of system shutdown", then closes all databases files. Most of the other SQL server do not list any SQL log messages and sometimes list startup error messages indicating a dirty shutdown.
Does anyone else reboot their SQL servers with a scheduled job? If so, how do you perform this task cleanly?

I also see the one below prior to another crash....going through tech net now...but not seeing anything that reflects the messages below. The results from searching on "Exception_Access_Violation" I'm not sure apply in my case...also looks like I have at least two causes of crashes (how can one interpret the below statements???)

ps. someone else mentioned backup software - we use BackupExec and I have a sched. task that dumps one of the databases to a network drive 2x day. But these are running throughout the week...looking over the logs I really don't see a correlation...(ie. these same processes run on days that no crash occurs and successfully later in the day that the crashes do occur (some hours earlier).

Did you check the SQL Server errorlog (sometimes things are written here that don't go to the event viewer) and the NT event viewer (application and system)?
You could try turning on SQL Trace to see if you can capture a "bad" query but depending on how SQL goes down it may not be captured.
If you are auditing successful logons you could take a look to see if there is any pattern in who logs in just before SQL restarts.
Any chance someone is actually stopping it on purpose? Or maybe a program that is stopping it (maybe a backup system trying to backup the device files instead of the dumps)?
