Print Option Causes System Restart (Reporting Services 2000)

Apr 18, 2007

We are using Reporting Services 2000.

The print button that is present in the browser is working just fine for some users.

But some users are complaining that on clicking the print button their system restarts.

Some other users are also getting the error "An error occurred during printing. (0x80004005)"

However on closing the browser and opening the report in it again this issue is resolved.

So, the main concern is "Restart of the machine on click of the PRINT icon in reports viewed in some application browser."

Please help!!

'set' Query Option To Results In Text? Print Ss, Mis?

Jul 17, 2003

In TSQL, is there a way to 'Set' the query option results in text as the head of my sql statement?

kind of tired of hit contol+t to get the text result.

also, when I
print '@dateStart--' + cast(@dateStart as varchar(30))
I don't get seconds and I even need mis.
Is there a simple way instead of a combination of datepart() to get ss, mis?

thanks

Reporting Services From WebBrowser Control - Print = Unable To Load Client Print Control

Mar 20, 2007

UPDATE #2: When it said "Do you want to install Microsoft SQL Server" I said "yes" and that caused it to work. I exited and re-ran and now the print runs w/o the "install SQL Server" (If the prompt had said "Do you want to install the print dialog" we wouldn't be having this discussion...)

UPDATE: After posting this i discovered that the same thing occurs when attempting to print the report direct from IE6: First a dialog pops up "Do you want to install this software?" Name: Microsoft SQL Server. When I click "Don't Install" I get the dialog "unable to load client print control." Since this happens direct from IE6 I suspect it's browser settings. I'll resume tomorrow and post a followup.

My WinForm C# app integrates Reporting Services by calling them from WebBrowser controls. The problem is attempts to print cause a dialog: "unable to load client print control."

I've read prior posts that say "enable Active-X in your browser" - I don't know how to do that from a WebBrowser control.

Any ideas how to support Reporting Services "Print" from within a WebBrowser control?

WWW Service Overload When Trying To Print A Rs2005 Report

Mar 23, 2006

Hi

When I try to print a very simple report with rs2005 via the print button on the http://servername/report/pages/... website, it says "printing" but nothing happend. When I look at the server (win2003 SP1 + latest hotfixes) the www and sql2005 (SP1 CTP installed) services eat up 100% cpu for ever.
I get no error messages neither in the rs log's nor in os application or system log. With profiler I found out, that there must be some loop. The following stored procedure exec DeletePersistedStreams @SessionID='24iumm55mp32l2ie2nezs0y0'is called about 650 times per second, which explain the load. The only way to stop this, is shut down and restart the www service.
This behaviour can be found with all reports.
The call, view and export of the same reports to pdf, xls, ... works without problems.

Any ideas?

Thanks for your help
Peter

( I'm trying to work on an SqlServer Compact Edition database through the SSMStudiothat's why I'm trying to get this to change.)Besides, after I connect i go to the Object Explorer, expand the server node, and go to Replication. When i expand replication, i get the "Local Subscription" option, but nothng for Publication.( I want to work on Merge Replication, that's why I desparately need Publication to work)Am i missing something here? I did not install SqlServer separately, I only have what comes bundled with the Visual Studio  2005 Setup.

SQL Reporting - Print Button

May 2, 2008

Hi,
I am having a problem when a user presses the print button from the SQL Reporting web interface. When the print button is pressed, it hangs and spikes the CPU until the worker process (w3wp.exe) is killed. This process and the SQL Server process (sqlservr.exe) take all of the CPU.

The only thing I've found that sounds similar is the following discussion:
http://forums.microsoft.com/TechNet/ShowPost.aspx?PostID=1813950&SiteID=17

If I follow the discussion in this thread and turn off the configuration option for 'SET NOCOUNT', the it works fine. The thing I'm trying to figure out, is this a bug that was fixed so that the print button will now function whether the flag is on or off. I also need to verify that this is a valid solution to the problem if it is not a fixed bug. I'd also like some information on why this is a problem if someone knows.

Thanks,
Keith J

It should be very helpful to be able to create a metadata databases where you could find all releations between different objects (tables,views,reports,cubes,DTS-package,Databases.

Just to get answer for: 'where is view xxx used', 'what are Report xxx depending upon'.

While everything exists in different SQL databases it should possible to do.

Reporting Services :: IE 11 And SSRS Print Button

Mar 19, 2014

1. We have been using Sql Server 2008 R2 and its reporting services engine.

In the application we used Report Viewer (version 9).

When the report is taken for the first time, couple of messages pops up.

a. Unable to Load print control
b. Install Sql Server Reporting Services 2008 R2.

These messages are fine, but we noticed that the second message is not consistent. When the application is deployed in staging server which is as same as the production server except for the power (CPU, RAM), the second message is "Install Sql Server 2008". Why is this happening?

2. To support IE 11, we upgraded the Report viewer to version 11. Now the messages are different.

a. Printing is not available. Verify that ActiveX is enabled or try using IE from the desktop
b. Install Sql Server Reporting Services 2008 R2. (Here again when deployed in staging server it says "Install Sql Server 2008").

Reporting Services Option GREYED OUT!

Aug 15, 2007

Hello All,

I have a workstation that had an installation of SQL 2K5 that a tech set up for me. Naturally, it was the wrong edition AND no components were actually installed, making my laptop into a paperweight. I advised that we get SQL Developer for the DBA's and I am trying to install but the option for Reporting Services is greyed out.

I have uninstalled SQL (I think it was Standard) and I even went through the "complete uninstall" detailed in one of these threads thinking that was the problem. I am still unable to install Reporting Services.

Has anyone run into this problem?

PLEASE HELP!

thanks!
