Visual Studio Team System And SSMS - Anyone Got The Plugin To Work?
May 30, 2006
We have a large number of SPs in our databases and decided it was time to get some source control. I have VSTS team explorer installed and working in visual studio, but I cannot get the plugin for SSMS to work - it just says none in the current source control plug-in dialogue box - nothing when I drop it down either.
someone please tell me how im using primavera V5.0 (www.primavera.com) and i want to export the data from the .net to primavera and versa versa please tell me soon
i have created a database endpoint that just retuns some data. i am trying to call this endpoint as a web service in visual studio by adding a web reference, but i cannot find my endpoint. it seems to just check iis for endpoints, but how do i make it look for my sql endpoint? here is the code for my endpoint.
create endpoint testEndpoint authorization [FINTAN-PCFintan] state=STARTED as http ( path ='/sql', authentication=(INTEGRATED), ports = (CLEAR), site='SERVER' ) For SOAP ( webmethod'ProvideSQLData'(name='adventureWorks.dbo.testEndpointProcedure'), WSDL=DEFAULT, SCHEMA=STANDARD, DATABASE='adventureworks', NAMESPACE='http://thenamespace.org' ); GO
the account that visual studio is running under has been granted connect permissions on the endpoint. can anyone say where im going wrong here?
We are new to SQL Server 2005 Express Edition. We are going to develope a solution for one of our client and we have to decide on which database to use for the solution. Client wanted to have a low cost solution. Thus we were not in a position to push them for SQL Sever 2000.
In the process, we also thought of having MySQL as one of the option. Another option we have is to use SQL Server 2005 Express Edition.
We wanted to know if SQL Server 2005 Express Edition can be used with Visual Studion 2003 (Ver 1.1) or it can only be used with Visual Studio 2005 (Ver 2.0)?
I want to export file such as .csv, xml , word from ReportViewer in visual studio 2008 but when I run on ASP.NET .net framework 2.0, it can export only excel & pdf files. But in business intelligent project in Visual Studio 2005 I can export all files that I want. How can I export file from reportviewer in visual studio 2008 run on web application?
I have a ssas tabular model as a data source in a .pbix-file. I have uploaded the .pbix-file to Power BI Services and it works fine as long as my visual studio project is open. If I close my visual studio project, the objects in Power BI Services will say "The data recievement for this visual information was not successful."
I would like to setup SSIS project so that multiple developers can work on same project. I am having issues with protectionlevel properties while another developer opens the package created by other developer.
Can anyone guide me on setting up project so that multiple developers could open the package and run (not simaltaneously though). Also tips on setting up source safe or team foundation will be appreciated!
when I try to make a sqldatasource with visual studio 2008 and SQLServer 2008 . I found that there are a message that the visual studio 2008 can support only SQLServer 2005 and SQLServer 2000how to make my visual studio 2008 support SQLServer 2008
I am working on an ASP.NET and c# project. I am creating a page that allow user to add new Workitem to TFS and successfully do so. Now I would like to implement the way to email to notify the user that the new WI is added €¦. Does anyone know how to do this or have an example of how to implement that. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Team members appear twice or more if they belong to more than one team. I need to be able to show their name and main team. Team is not important at the moment but I just like to include all team members and display a team name against them. This is what I have at the moment:
SELECT SystemUser.systemuserid, FullName, TeamMembership.TeamID, TeamName FROM Team RIGHT OUTER JOIN TeamMembership ON Team.teamid = TeamMembership.teamid LEFT OUTER JOIN SystemUser ON TeamMembership.systemuserid = SystemUser.systemuserid order by FullName
I have a database in my "App_Data" folder of my visual studio project. I can view it fine in Visual Studio's built-in tools for managing a database attached to a solution. However i recently started playing around with the SQL Server Management Studio Express program. When i attach my database to Management Studio, and try to run my program it crashes. I think it might be a permissions error?!? When i detatch it and reattach it in visual studio it runs fine again. Any suggestions? ThanksJason
I recently installed the Evaluation Edition of SQL Server 2005 x64 and it appears that MS Visual Studio 2005 is installed in stead of SQL Server Business Intelligence Development Studio. When I choose new project the only template available is "Blank Solution". How do I get all the templates (i.e. Analysis Server Project, Integration Services Project, Report Model Project, Report Server Wizard project, etc.)?
Or would it be better to uninstall MS Visual Studio 2005 and attempt to reinstall BIDS?
I am new to visual studio and I am still not sure of all its components and features.
I installed visual studio 2005 standard edition but cannot find SQL Server Management Studio?
I guess this must be because it is not included with Visual studio 2005 standard. Is it included with VS 2005 professional?
I want to add pictures of products to my shopping site using an SQL database and I’ve been told that SQL Server Management studio is required as it is a graphical tool.
How would I go about obtaining the SQL server management studio. There seems to be different versions of SQL server that it is confusing to know which one to purchase.
Will the SQL server 2005 version that comes with Visual studio standard be sufficient for me now right? I want to create a shopping site with hundreds, perhaps even thousands of products. I want to use an SQL server 2005 database. The database will include ‘dynamically generated’ product images if that is the correct terminology.
My goodness, it seems I still have so much to learn.
I have created a database under management studio and i want it to be connected in visual studio but it failed the error msgs said that the database can't be connected coz the database with same name exits but that is not true
How do i get the database that i am using in visual studio into my SQL server management studio? i need to create some scripts to create stored procedures on a live server.
I have SSRS in Visual Studio. I created a query that works fine in SQL Server Management Studio, but when pasted into Visual Studio I get the error "An expression of non-boolean type specified in a context where a condition is expected, near '('.
Here is the query. Can anyone help on why this isn't working? Thanks.
SELECT CASE WHEN MONTH(dbo.MAS_CCS_ARN_InvHistoryHeader.SOTransDate) = MONTH(GETDATE()) AND YEAR(dbo.MAS_CCS_ARN_InvHistoryHeader.SOTransDate) = YEAR(GETDATE()) THEN dbo.MAS_CCS_ARO_InvHistoryDetail.SOExtChargeAmount ELSE 0 END AS CurrentMonth, CASE WHEN SubString(dbo.MAS_CCS_GL_Account.Account,1,3) = '400' THEN 'ALEDO' ELSE ' ' END AS Location, dbo.MAS_CCS_ARN_InvHistoryHeader.SOTransDate, dbo.MAS_CCS_ARN_InvHistoryHeader.InvoiceNumber, dbo.MAS_CCS_AR1_CustomerMaster.CustomerName, dbo.MAS_CCS_ARO_InvHistoryDetail.DetailSeqNumber, dbo.MAS_CCS_ARO_InvHistoryDetail.LineType, dbo.MAS_CCS_GL_Account.Account, dbo.MAS_CCS_ARO_InvHistoryDetail.SOExtChargeAmount FROM dbo.MAS_CCS_AR1_CustomerMaster, dbo.MAS_CCS_ARN_InvHistoryHeader, dbo.MAS_CCS_ARO_InvHistoryDetail, dbo.MAS_CCS_GL_Account WHERE dbo.MAS_CCS_AR1_CustomerMaster.CustomerNumber = dbo.MAS_CCS_ARN_InvHistoryHeader.CustomerNumber AND dbo.MAS_CCS_ARN_InvHistoryHeader.InvoiceNumber = dbo.MAS_CCS_ARO_InvHistoryDetail.InvoiceNumber AND dbo.MAS_CCS_ARO_InvHistoryDetail.SOGLSalesAcct = dbo.MAS_CCS_GL_Account.AccountKey
Suddently System Databases Folder is not showing on Studio 9.0 for all the SQL servers instance. Do you know why ? Is there any option other than De-attach them?
Basically, I am asking if it is possible to use SSMS (Query Analyzer window) with Informix. I am thinking linked server. If I have the ODBC driver installed on my workstation (win 7 pro VM workstation -- SSMS on same VM machine) is this doable? Do I just do the standard linked server routine or is there a special way (if it is even doable).
I wanted to create a SSIS catalog and the way to create a catalog is to right click on "Integration Services Catalogs" node and select "Create Catalog" option.
However, I am not able to see the "Integration Services Catalogs" node in SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS) as shown in the following image.
What is missing so that I can see this node in SSMS?
FYI, I have SQL Server 2014 (Developer edition) and Integration Services 12.0 installed on my machine.
ProductVersion = 12.0.2269.0 (SELECT SERVERPROPERTY('productversion') AS ProductVersion)
I'm very confused. I installed Visual Studio 2005 and thought I understood that SQL Server 2005 came with it, but it appears that it's SQL Server 2005 - Express. Can anyone tell me what I need to do in order to get Data Transformation Services loaded or the equivalent of DTS in SQL Express?
I've downloaded and installed the latest VFPOLEDB (12/04) on 2 separate SQL Server boxes.
In both cases, If I connect to SQL Server with Query Analyzer as (local) while on a box, the linked server to my foxpro database works fine with openquery().
However, If I'm at one box and attached to SQL Server on the other box, the openquery() fails.
--this works on either (local) box SELECT * FROM OPENQUERY(VFP, 'select * from tislists') Go
--but, the same openquery() above doesn't work if the box I'm running it from is attached to the SQL Server on the other box. I get:
Server: Msg 7302, Level 16, State 1, Line 1 Could not create an instance of OLE DB provider 'VFPOLEDB'. OLE DB error trace [Non-interface error: CoCreate of DSO for VFPOLEDB returned 0x80040154]. ===================== One other approach I tried that works while on the (local) box, but fails when attached to the SQL Server on the other box:
select * from openrowset('MSDASQL', 'Driver=Microsoft Visual FoxPro Driver;SourceType=DBF;SourceDB= \hdmcpdctis1 isrnddata ', 'select * from [tislists.DBF]')
With error: Server: Msg 7399, Level 16, State 1, Line 1 OLE DB provider 'MSDASQL' reported an error. [OLE/DB provider returned message: [Microsoft][ODBC Driver Manager] Driver does not support this function] OLE DB error trace [OLE/DB Provider 'MSDASQL' IDBInitialize::Initialize returned 0x80004005: ]. ===========================
When I try to create a database that will have fields for a date and a time the only data type option in visual studio is datetime. This stores data as dd/mm/yyyy-00.00.
how can I set it to store either a date dd/mm/yyy or a time 00.00 but not both.
