Win 10 32 bit will only load properly with Ethernet cable. Discovered this looping issue when I moved the PC and went to use Wi-Fi. Plug cable back in and everything goes back to normal. Troubleshooter doesn't find anything wrong.

The other day I was connected to the internet via Ethernet cable I bought around 3 weeks ago and it was working well with no problems, but for the past two days when I plug in my ethernet cable, my laptop doesn't detect it and it says "Network cable unplugged".

I tried different cables but s still the same problem . My internet worked fine yesterday( in my windows 7) . My drivers are up to date. My wifi works fine only internet isn't working. When I press troubleshot it says that cable is unplugged or your broadcom netxtreme gigbait adapter have problem with hardware or driver.

View 1 RepliesA couple days ago I noticed that instead of having the ethernet in my taskbar that it is connected to wifi. I dont understand that because I have been using hardwire forever. To top it off my xbox connects via ethernet, but my pc wont. have tried the same cable that connects my xbox. I am pretty sure this is causing serious game lag, and i dont know what to do at this point. i cant access my router settings either. i type 192.168.1.1 and it doesnt load. that is the same ip address that i have always used before.
So this solution did work in a sense. Once reinstalled my drivers, my computer did detect that there was a ethernet plugged in, but it said the there was no connection. I disabled wifi on the computer, so it can only connect to ethernet. even tho it says that there is not internet connection through ethernet, everything is working great. It permanently has the Caution symbol over my internet.
My problem is i use a hardline into my computer and upon starting it up yesterday was greeted with the problem “no ethernet cable installed or connected”. I have replaced the cable already/restarted both the computer and router multiple times/did a system restore and none of those worked. Also disabled and re enabled the adapter multiple times.
The only thing that seemed to work or hint at the problem was a windows 8 forum that said to use an elevated command prompt to do “sfc/scannow” and that came back with errors. There was a “DSIM” command that was unable to find a correct download location.
Where to start so to begin with my issues started when we got a new router. We had issues with the old one so we installed a new router and got it working fine WiFi worked alright but Ethernet would not connect it my computer when I ran the troubleshooter said one or more network Protocols were missing from my computer I'm running windows 10 version 1511. I went on google on my laptop to start finding a fix and I must have tried every option in the book just about I am losing my mind over how to fix this. Finally I tried reinstalling the Network drive Uninstalling my current one going on google finding my most updated one ect. and now the issue is no longer about the protocols but its saying my Ethernet doesn't have a valid IP configuration
View 2 RepliesI have been unable to do a direct cable connect. Settings are not available. In settings, to do a cable connect it asks for a name and ISP. There isn't any. I never had a problem doing this before and I can do it with my apple computer. It has now been 2 days trying to figure out how to do what should be the easiest connection. No problem with any wireless----not everyone has wireless! Your microsoft stores have a long way to go to match the apple stores. If you can't get a connection to the internet it is very difficult to communicate or download any patches.

Ive tested that there actually is internet through the cable in the wall by connecting it to my Macbook, and it works perfectly. what can I do to fix this?
View 1 RepliesI recently installed windows 10 build 10162 and I installed every update for it and all of my drivers (that I know of).I was able to overclock my gpu no problem and was able to do that + cpu in windows 7.But for some reason raising my clock speed from 32 (3.2ghz) to 33 (3.3ghz) windows 10 decided to be autistic and bootloop everytime it reaches the logo.

View 7 RepliesHow to solve my various BSOD events with windows 10. My windows logs are also full of critical errors.
Essentially, every few days, (I can't replicate the issue at will), after I've used my laptop (Fujitsu u904 Lifebook) on it's docking station (Network via Ethernet), when I reboot off the docking station (Network via WiFi) I get a combination of errors. These range from:
- a message saying that Windows was unable to start the The Group Policy Client
- a blank desktop with no shortcuts
- clicking on the start button doesn't work (but the windows key does)
While not all thee errors happen together, what does happen is that I'm unable to connect to Wifi and the network icon is not visible in the tray.
I know error this is about to happen, because when I power down from the docking station (I never take or put my laptop on/off it without it being powered down), I hear an error sound and then when next rebooting (off the dock), the Wifi symbol on the lock screen before entering the password has changed to the Wifi symbol with a small circle at the top left. Sure enough my windows event logs show various errors including a number listed as error No 7031,
I'm not a techie but read elsewere that if this happens, entering "netsh" & "winsock reset" from the admin screen does solve the problem after rebooting, but I'm having to do this every couple of days.

So today i suddenly got a bluescreen but thought it wasn't anything special so I continued using my pc.
A few hours later my PC shut down and when I try to turn it on it either instantly reboots after i get to the login screen. When it restarts it has had these messages:

So the problem I've been having with Windows 10 is that it is constantly freezing on me and loops the sound over and over until it unfreezes. The computer is unresponsive and acts like it is about to bluescreen but it doesn't. After it unfreezes, it might display a notification that my graphics card driver crashed(Nvidia 353.63 windows 10 64bit). I would really like the freezing to stop and sometimes the freezing lasts up to 5 minutes or even endless!

Since launching nine days ago Windows Update has sent out an unstable graphics driver which switched off monitors, a buggy security patch which corrupted Windows Explorer and there are now a number of reports that a third update is causing Window 10 machines to crash over and over again…
The patch in question is KB3081424 (ironically enough a roll-up of bug fixes) and during its update process affected users find it fails and triggers the message: “We couldn’t complete the updates, undoing the changes.” Undoing them results in a mandatory system reboot, but as soon as the user logs back on Windows 10’s update process kicks in and tries to install KB3081424 again.
I’m sure you’re way ahead of me here, but since Windows 10 updates cannot be stopped KB3081424 tries to install over and over again which leaves systems caught in endless reboot loops.
I am periodically experiencing an issue where the o button starts typing itself continuously until I either restart or lock the PC. It's not a keyboard issue, since it happens whether the keyboard is plugged in or not, even with a different keyboard.
I haven't yet found a way of triggering it, but once it starts, it happens quite often after each time I stop it.
I have my laptop set to sleep when I close the lid. That works. But after the computer is sleeping and the optical mouse has shutdown (lamp off), if I simply unplug the power brick it will wake up again, the sleep light goes off and the mouse lamp comes back on and it starts running (lid closed).

View 1 RepliesI upgraded my laptop from Windows 7 to Windows 10 recently. The laptop battery is now draining 20% overnight when the laptop is shutdown and unplugged. With Windows 7 the battery drainage was negligible (even over a week). The laptop is a Lenovo Thinkpad Type 1143-3FU. The Thinkpad has a red light which glows while on. After shutdown it now flashes a few times after shutdown before stopping (rather than just going out) which indicates to me that something is still running, but I do not know what. The laptop battery is good. The computer does not appear to be hibernating because when I start the computer it shows the Lenovo screen first thing.
View 2 RepliesLast night I plugged in headphones to the small round jack (not the USB) and sound worked fine as Iistened to a program. When I unplugged the headphones, I cannot get any sound to come out of the computer. I've tried restarting, muting/un-muting, and I've looked at all audio settings I can find. I cannot locate headphones settings - they don't show up anywhere. I recently installed the Windows 10 update a couple of weeks ago and this is the first time I've used headphones in this jack. Wondering if I need updated drivers but can't locate and system says drivers are fine.
View 17 RepliesI recently updated my HP ENVY laptop from Windows 8.1 to Windows 10 & immediately started having issues with my WIFI speed. I was able to connect to the wireless network just fine with no limited connectivity, etc but the speed crawls. It's only my laptop...all other wifi devices are running with no noticeable difference. I went through a bunch of troubleshooting steps and couldn't get it to improve.
I was able to figure out my wifi speed is great when my laptop is connected to ac power, but immediately drops speed when unplugged. All of my initial troubleshooting was on battery power.
I checked the driver Power Management tab and unchecked the Allow the computer.... option. Also Control Panel-Power Options and changed the Wireless Adapter Settings to be on Maximum Performance for both On Battery & Plugged In.

So I've built my first ever PC and I chose the ASUS Z170-A as motherboard. When I was finished I installed Ubuntu. The ASUS motherboard do not have wifi compatibility integrated so I used the ethernet cable to connect to internet. That worked just fine, everything worked very smoothly. Then I decided to install Windows 10 instead. I bought the Windows 10 Pro, wiped out all the Ubuntu reserved partitions on the SSD disk, and install Windows.
But now, while having the ethernet cable inserted to the motherboard, it wont recognize it. The green and orange lights next to the ethernet cable input are even turned on (indicating that the PC does have a connection). But still the OS wont recognize that it is there. So even when Ubuntu succeeded to recognize the cable, Windows 10 din not. I speculated that I need some kind of software to detect the cable, but I am probably wrong.
Per the title, I run my computer through my TV using an HDMI cable. Sound works brilliantly on Windows 8.1 but after upgrading to Windows 10, I'm left without audio, and in the sound settings it doesn't show HDMI as an available device.
