In IE, there was a setting to open links (e.g., ones selected by shift-clicking, or ones with a target attribute in the anchor tag) into a new window instead of a new tab. I can't find a way to do this in Edge - in general, the number of user-adjustable settings seems to be MUCH smaller in Edge. Is there a way?

After I upgraded to Windows 10 I am unable to click on any link in Outlook 2003. I get a popup that says "Locate link browser". I searched for a solution and read that I needed to associate it with IExplore.exe. After doing that, now whenever I click a link it opens IExplore to my home page. How I can resolve this error and get it to go to the URL rather than just opening IExplore?
Instructions I found were these but don't seem to apply to Windows 10:

Edge is a great browser! However one thing I really miss from IE is having my favorites sidebar always visible at all times. With Edge you have to select it EACH TIME and pin it to the window display. This becomes a real pain and seems unnecessary. Is it possible to configure the favorite's sidebar to be always on by default? A real extra would be to have it on the left hand side again like IE which seemed to have this facility/capability just right. The horizontal favorites across the top is useless because so few are visible. (No luck with other forums) else I'm going back to IE.
View 7 RepliesI am having a very certain issue with edge. It will not open any page related to Google in any way. I can't open Google Plus, the search engine, or even Google Drive. I've looked into the firewall and replaced my hosts file, and I don't know where to go at this point.
View 9 RepliesEdge on rare occasions does not open? I have it pinned to the taskbar and on very, very rare instances nothing opens. It's a very easy remedy, either reboot or quicker still if I go into taskmanager and kill the edge process. Then if I click on the pinned taskbar for edge it opens just fine and happy browsing.
I must re-iterate replicating the issue is tough because it is quite rare. Happened yesterday and before that a couple weeks ago. So I'm thinking it's just an 'Edge' thing that happens from time to time.

After I change the "Open with" settings, I can't find a "Save".
I click the "Open with" to "A specific page or pages", change the Drop-down to "Custom", X out "about:start", in the "Enter a web address" space, I enter "www.google.com.
From there I'm lost. I don't see any "apply", "Save" or anything to keep the changed settings.
I quit Edge and open it up again and it opens back with the default MSN, etc.
I'm using W10 and have Edge as the default browser (I also use Chrome and Firefox). Some programs are automatically opening in Internet Explorer such as when I open Google+ photos or when software updates and shows what has changed on its website. how to change this so it all opens up in Edge?

Download a file and then I click on the section to 'open folder'.
The Downloads folder opens, but just stays at the bottom, it doesn't pop up.
The file I just downloaded is there somewhere, but it isn't highlighted like it used to be in IE.

Open Mail either from all App or Taskbar if you have it set up that way
Once open click on Settings found in bottom Right Hand Corner
Then go to Manage Account
Click on any Mail you have there like
Outlook
Gmail
Etc
Then click Link Inboxes
Tick which Inboxes you want to link
Also you can Name the link to anything you want to
Once done Click Save
Now when you receive Mail from any of your contact etc
It will now come into one Inbox
Have done it and it does work
This saves you having to click on each Mail inbox
If you want to revert back just
Click on the inbox linked untick
Press Save and they are all back showing one by one
My sendto has been broken. I had just Bluetooth showing but the folder at C:Users***AppDataRoamingMicrosoftWindowsSendTo had all the right parts in it.
I found removing the Bluetooth worked, but though I have recreated both the folder and the Mail recipient item a number of times the outlook link will not show.

I am using Mail app built in Windows 10. Office 2013 is installed with all applications. If I try to use the SendTo link from Explorer, it opens up Outlook instead of the default Mail app. In default programs, Mail has all his options checked.

How do I turn off the mouse auto click when it hovers over a link in a web page. I downloaded the windows 10 and it has started doing this. I can't find a thing anywhere about this issue. I have an Asus laptop and a Toshiba laptop and they are both doing this since getting the windows 10. I spend more time going back to my original page than I get to read the original page! Try shopping and reading a description. Taking a test online was challenging to say the least.
View 9 RepliesSince installing the November Windows 10 update (11/17/15) none of my favorites are being stored in the default Edge folder. While in Edge the favorites are available but when I go to the default folder they are not listed. Is there another location they may be being saved or has my default location somehow been changed? My AppData folder shows a creation date of 11/17/15 with no modifications being made in favorites since that date.
View 1 RepliesI am having a problem whereby my default browser keeps changing from IE11 back to either Edge or blank. Why this might be happening or what program is causing it to change? I thought it maybe the Windows Auto Update that keep changing but am now not so sure of that since the last recorded update is back on 14th January and my default Browser got changed again last evening.
The only other programs that run regularly are Norton Internet Security and Norton Utilities. However, I have been through the settings of both of those programs and cannot detect anything that would indicate that they change the default Browser.
Also, in IE11 under the advanced tab I have ticked the option the "Tell me if Internet Explorer is not the default web browser" and yet (a) I do not get a notification and (b) the default browser keeps getting changed.
So we have these tools that need elevated rights within IE to install correctly. In windows 7 we always did the right click, run as admin thing. However, now after the upgrade and Edge there seems to be no availability to run it as admin. Tried all the icons & right click that I can find for Edge but not getting the option anywhere.Tried also with the Edge app from /Windows/Systemapps and it didnt give the option either. View 6 RepliesWhen I first got Win 10, the Edge browser worked great but after a time it simply quit working. The opening screen with the icon comes up but then it goes back to my desktop. I can still use Explorer but Edge had some features I liked and I would like to go back to it before too long. View 7 RepliesI upgraded my computer to Windows 10, however I cannot play Flash content in Edge browser. It is enabled in the advanced settings in Edge and it is still not working, saying I have to update my Flash plugin, however it is supposed to be bundled with Edge.
I do not have a problem with Flash content in Chrome or IE11 browsers, but would like to be able to use Edge as well.
Now, I also encounter the following error message from Windows Update:
"Security Update for Internet Explorer Flash Player for Windows 10 for x64-based Systems (KB3087040) - Error 0x800f0922"
which I guess is related to the issue of missing Flash Player in my Windows.
I mistakenly chose IE as the browser for my emails to open in when I imported my mails from outlook and I wish to change this to MS Edge. How to I go about this? I've checked in the settings, but it doesn't seem to have what I'm looking for. MY IE doesn't function as well as Edge and I'd like to correct this.
