Can't Make Taskbar To Hide
Aug 19, 2015I cannot get the Taskbar to "hide" in Win 10...Have followed all the directions and checked the correct box but it just won't disappear!

Feb 23, 2016I have Windows10 with dual monitors. When I start Windows the taskbar on Monitor 2 is visible and won't move. If I turn Cortana on and off it resumes auto-hiding but I have to do this every time I start Windows 10.

Jul 25, 2015I'm using Build TH1 10240 with all updates (just checked before I posted this to be sure) dual booting W7 and W10 with no known problems other than the taskbar issue.
The taskbar hides and appears fine when nothing is up but the desktop, or the settings window and other items from the computer but doesn't hide when a have IE up, I'm using IE11, just don't care much for Edge yet, maybe as time goes by I'll start using it more.
Anytime I have IE up the taskbar stays visible and will not hide, I went to properties to reset it, tried this a few times, uncheck the box>apply, then check the box>apply, after I click apply the taskbar momentarily hides and immediately pops back into view.
I know others (Jimbo) were having an issue with this on earlier builds. It didn't happen every time for me, just every once in awhile but on 10240 it's every time.
It's not a huge thing but I've always hid the taskbar and would like to do it on W10 too.

Nov 11, 2015I have noticed this for a while. I have the task bar set to auto hide - this works most of the time, but, occasionally it stays up on screen and won't hide. Not the end of the world, but, it would be good have this niggle solved.

Jun 20, 2015When I am running an app in a full-screen windowed, I can sometimes make it hide by Alt-tabbing to the program. (Even though the program was already in focus.)
Pretty much the rest of the time, it's always up. I've tried flipping it back and forth, and sometimes that will fix it for a few minutes, but no longer than that.
I'm running 10130, and this system was upgraded from Win7 somewhere when build numbers were in the upper 9k mark. I'm not interested in doing a complete wipe and re-install unless it is absolutely necessary for continued functionality of my system. It will take me way too long to put everything back.
Really this wouldn't be so much of a problem if it didn't cover the bottom of every application I run in a large window or maximized. With build 10130 though, it's gotten to the point where it just doesn't want to hide anymore. Until they fix the issue with full-screen applications not rendering correctly.

Jan 25, 2016Usually this works but now it doesn't. I can move it to left, right sides and top and bottom but there will not auto hide. I click Apply and OK but to no avail. Tried unchecking the option box and re checking but no luck.

1. hide or unhide start menu. On some PCs it should be hidden, on some it shouldn't. But sync causes all PCs to have the same settings for this.
2. background! I get 'corrupted' background images if one of my PCs changes desktop and I log into another one. Reason? Different resolutions on the displays used. The original resolution is replicated; missing space is filled up with bars of parts of the original image
So... Is there a way I can keep everything synced as-is, except for these two options?
How To Make Taskbar Icons Monochrome
Jul 31, 2015I like the monochrome look of the taskbar shortcuts (like the Start button, Cortana, Task View, etc.). I swore that when I first installed Windows 10, the Store app icon and the Xbox app icon were both pinned there in black and white. But now they've adopted those generic color backgrounds (blue for Store and green for Xbox). How do I get them back to monochrome? I'd also like to do this for Edge's icon too.

I've largely figured out how to get adequate colors for pieces of windows and such, but:
I'm on large monitors and the icons in the taskbar are miniscule. And YES, they are NOT set to use SMALL icons... I'm looking for a way to get LARGER icons WITHOUT reducing resolution or doing anything else to the displays...
Aero snap is marginally useful, but NOT when you're using multiple monitors. HOW do I make aero snap limit itself to ONE monitor? I DON'T want it to pull windows that are on monitor two onto monitor 1 when I snap a window. I JUST want it to work with the windows on the monitor I snap a window on.
So, how do I customize these couple basic things so Windows 10 is a bit more productive?
