Suddenly the lock screen slideshow no longer works, it just stays at one picture. I have not made any changes to the folders i have set and there have been no windows updates recently. I tried logging out, I tried restarting but nothing works. What could be causing this...

View 2 RepliesWhen I first setup the slideshow it worked fine. Then, out of the blue, it stopped working (due to an update I thought). But since then it comes and goes. It can work for a few hours but soon goes back to sleep mode instead of the lock screen slideshow!
I've triple checked the settings, uninstalled and reinstalled the slideshow, changed the image folder etc.
I've even changed and re-changed the NoLockScreen setting in the registry.
In short, nothing works.

Also, since it never activates on its own and my display is set to turn off after the Lock Screen slideshow has played for 30 min, my display stays on indefinitely. Changing the power settings in Control Panel for my display (turn off after x minutes) makes no difference to this behavior.
Another, less-annoying problem I'm having is the first picture in the slideshow is always the same sample picture that came with windows. If you delete the sample picture the first frame in the slide is just black instead.

So when I go to the lock screen in Windows 10 I can select a picture and the preview shows it fine. However when I actually lock my PC it still shows the default Windows 10 one. (Not a solid colour)
PC upgraded from Windows 7 recently. All updates applied.
I have tried so many things, deleted systemdata folder in programdata, tried running registry repairs, sfc scannow etc.
Why it will let me change the lock screen picture with no problems, change the preview but the actual lock screen image itself doesn't change?
Having difficulty adding a picture / wallpaper to the lock screen. I have just set up windows 10 screen saver and I see you can change the lock screen back ground picture.
I have tried adding either one of the windows wallpapers or one of my own pictures but I can't find any option to save the image. on closing the window & returning to the lock screen the picture does not appear to save and returns to the standard blue background with date and time.
I can't find any option to save the image as a lock screen wallpaper.
One of my 4 computer with a slideshow of pictures always gets changed to picture and then it is a BING-PICTURE.
All i need is the right setting in REGEDIT and maybe this can be fixed manually?
I have set up my background to display slideshow. There appears to be no save button on this page. Every time I reboot the computer I find the slideshow has been changed back to "picture" mode.
View 9 RepliesI find that the personalization settings have changed. I boot to a new background but then it stays fixed on the new picture. In the Personalisation settings. 'Slideshow' changes itself to 'Picture'. I set it to use the slideshow when on batteries, but that switch turns off, too.

I decided to try it on the laptop Windows 10 Home and I am able to change the lock screen picture to anything I want to. Is this a bug in the Pro version?
I have a few personal photos set up to show as a screen saver. When I preview the settings all is fine. When screen saver starts, it runs through the photos and then the screen goes black with a message about an error stopped screen saver from running. It doesn't tell me what error or any other information. The setup is the same as I have on another PC only with fewer pictures.

I remembered when I first installed Windows 10,each time I started my laptop a different picture would appear and I'd be asked if I liked the picture or not. That ha stopped and now all I get is a picture of a sunrise. How can I change that picture?

From the very first time after fresh update from Windows 8 to 10 - there was a problem to have Lock Screen.
I like the simple information on it and quick display off after a while not used...
Then, after any option possible used to enable it, it somehow appeared after windows update. I was lucky to have it back. Self customized to black background without any disturbing images and icons - only pure time and date.
And, then, after last whole build update from 10240 to 10586 - again NO MORE LOCK SCREEN .....
Tested again any possible option (system option, gpedit option, registry change) - nothing works like after first upgrade from 8 to 10...
If I try to set the notebook (Lenovo Yoga 15) to Lock, it appears blank black (my custom solid color) background for around 2 seconds, and then it goes directly to login dialog (personal image with login button).
Why did my lock screen change while I was at work all day????

It has that picture of the sea and rocks etc. All I need to do is click it and it disappears .. but I don't want the nuisance lock screen. I don't have a touch screen, I still use my mouse and pad. This lock screen is just another click I have to do to get started. How to disable the lock screen.
