Customization :: PC Shows Lock Screen After A Few Minutes Idle
Dec 15, 2015I can not get my pc to follow my Power and Sleep settings. After 5 minutes of inactivity, the screen is blank and I have to wake it and login.

Lock Screen Choose Apps Menu Shows NONE
Aug 4, 2015I have W10 on 4 computers and each one is different regarding the lock screens "Choose apps to show detailed..." menu options. The PC i am on now shows none in both menus. and the other 3 show some but each is random in what it shows.
All PC's have all privacy options on and are signed in with a Live Account. How to add apps to this menu? Or is there a way to force W10 to add the apps to the menu so i can select them for the lock screen?

Aug 24, 2015When I start up my computer the lock screen shows 2 accounts. One has just my name, which I am trying to remove because it default tries to log into. The second is my microsoft @live account which Ive used from day one. When I go into accounts it shows I have 1 account on this computer, its the one I use @live to sign in. Really confusing and Im not sure that to do.

Mar 5, 2016After leaving my computer alone for a few minutes my computer restarts with a REGISTRY_ERROR BSOD. I have disabled ".NET Framework NGEN v4.0.30319 Critical" and ".NET Framework NGEN v4.0.30319 64 Critical" and also ran sfc/scannow with no integrity violation. I uninstalled and reinstalled my graphics drivers and also reseated the card.

BSOD :: Error While Idle For 5-10 Minutes
Nov 11, 2015Basically what happens is, I get BSOD errors when my computer is idle after about 5-10 min, pretty consistantly. It doesn't happen after a windows complete re-install for about a week (give or take) then I start seeing symptoms again. Ive also been getting, what seems to be the same 3, not in ay particular order.
They are: SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXEMPTION, MEMORY_MANAGEMENT, and PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA. After doing a lot of homework and trial and error (not installing Norton Internet Security, Not updating Chipset Drivers...etc) ive resulted to the professionals. FYI Ive ran MEMTEST 86 at least 8 cycles with no errors.

Dec 30, 2015I am trying to create a kiosk like experience with a win 10 touchscreen PC, where after X# of minutes, it will close and restart Chrome, so that any open tabs will close, and Chrome will open to the default home page. So the effect would be a screensaver starts after X minutes, and in the background Chrome restarts and opens the default page which is a menu screen. When someone touches the screen, the default home screen in Chrome would be revealed.
I looked into Task Scheduler, which is new to me, but I did not see anyway to close or restart an application. Plus under events I am not seeing the idle event as an action that can trigger new actions.
Performance :: Automatic Disk Defrag Every 5 Minutes When Idle?
Feb 1, 2016Every time i leave my computer idle for 5 minutes, disk defragmenting starts acting up. It never did this on Windows 7, and its very annoying. This causes my fan to speed up and it stays that way until i give it some input.
I always put my computer to sleep when I'm done using it, and would rather defragment manually. I want to turn this 5 minute defragging off, but how?

BSOD :: Registry Error After 4 Minutes Of Idle Time
Mar 5, 2016The computer seems very stable right up until I let it go idle. After 4 minutes I get the REGISTRY_ERROR bsod. The system is not over clocked. CPU temps are low. Memtest86(+) runs fine for 8 passes with 0 errors. Disabling the two .NET tasks that start on idle in Task Scheduler made no difference (as per the post with a similar issue). CHKDSK /R requires a reboot and no messages are present on the screen while running but there is no log file generated in Event Viewer / logfiles / application. I ran sfc /scannow and got errors. A reboot and retry did not correct the error. I ran Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth and it successfully repaired the system. Subsequent scans with SCF indicate no issues or problems. Not sure if it is relevant but the system has a Samsung 950 SSD as the C drive.

From the very first time after fresh update from Windows 8 to 10 - there was a problem to have Lock Screen.
I like the simple information on it and quick display off after a while not used...
Then, after any option possible used to enable it, it somehow appeared after windows update. I was lucky to have it back. Self customized to black background without any disturbing images and icons - only pure time and date.
And, then, after last whole build update from 10240 to 10586 - again NO MORE LOCK SCREEN .....
Tested again any possible option (system option, gpedit option, registry change) - nothing works like after first upgrade from 8 to 10...
If I try to set the notebook (Lenovo Yoga 15) to Lock, it appears blank black (my custom solid color) background for around 2 seconds, and then it goes directly to login dialog (personal image with login button).

Oct 20, 2015I don't know if I changed a setting or what but I can't get Windows to show me the Lock Screen. I have it like this. I put it in Slideshow with a custom folder where I keep all my wallpapers. is a slideshow lockscreen settings in one side, a normal savescreen setting in another. If I had to set my screen to turn off after a certain time or not. I just want the frickin lockscreen to start whenever, let's say, 30 min have passed. Only thing I get it's my screen turned off.
