I'm using an english windows 10 with hungarian keyboard. Not even complicated, right? My location is set to Slovakia and my problem is that the date on my lock screen is in slovak and if I install anything with "use my default language" language option it's installed in slovak. My question is: Is there any way to change the default language without changing my location?

I have Windows 10 64-bit, I did a clean install on a new build (SSD). I would use the Windows "move" application feature and the default download location option but Microsoft greyed out the option on the final release of Windows and nobody knows when the feature will be back.
So should I change this stuff in regedit, using this method* or what should I do?

In previous versions of Windows, a quick registry hack has let me create my main user (after the one in C:Users created when installing Windows) in E:Users rather than C:Users.
This is the method I've used before:
Use Regedit to navigate to:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREMicrosoftWindows NTCurrentVersionProfileList
and alter ProfilesDirectory, in my case to E:Users.
Does this works in W10, or will I be a path-finder?
Am I missing something? I don't see the option.
View 1 RepliesI need to store files at a location other than my SSD boot drive. I right click on a folder icon e.g., "downloads" and go to properties/location and change the drive letter. I go to the icon, right click and the location has been changed.
However, downloads continue to go to C:users/myname/downloads.
How do I change where files are sent by default?
Right now, if you select Microsoft Print to PDF under Print, it sends the file to the Documents folder in OneDrive.
Where do I change the location so it saves it to the Documents folder on the PC?
When I use the Microsoft print to pdf printer in Win 10, it gives the file a name and saves it to My Documents. How do I change the save to location to my desktop? Can I name the file myself rather than accept the name win 10 thinks it should be?

I just tried to update to W10...BUT it simply opens up the install dialogs in FINNISH and says I can only perform a clean install and not keep my settings and files because the OS is different language than the one to be installed (Finnish).
how do I change the install language to English - I assume it just checks where I am and assumes everyone here wants a Finnish OS as force-feeds it to me. But a complete clean install just now is a big no-no, so I want it to install it in English instead.
So i changed my language from Norwegian to English just to try Cortana, and then i switched back again. But then i noticed that the "Most used" list of apps in the start menu was gone. Any one else who have experienced this? It has been empty for 24 hours now.

This is all I've found so far, and I can't click the path to change it or anything.
My main drive doesn't have too much space on it and I'd like to put it on my alternate one.
I have been fighting this problem ever since Windows 7. Every time I try to access my computer from another device on my network, I find I am unable to connect. I go into the Ethernet settings, and see that Make This PC Discoverable is turned off. If I switch it on, go back, and then immediately open the settings again , it is switched off again. When I look at my Network and Sharing Center, my network is set to Public network.
The only way I've been able to successfully set it to Private and keep the Make This PC Discoverable setting turned on is to change the Category setting in the registry for my network to 1. It works, and I'm able to do whatever it was I wanted to do over the network. But then the next time I want to access my PC from my LAN again, same thing.I have tried all the suggestions I can find, most of which are mentioned here: Network Location - Set to Private or Public in Windows 8.Nothing prevents it from going back to Public again after a while.This is incredibly frustrating as it completely defeats the purpose of having a local area network!
On the log-in screen the language is English, but AFTER I log in to Windows, the default INPUT language is Bulgarian, although English is the default one in Language Preferences. How can I change it to English?

I am trying to change the default install path to my storage drive, but when I go to settings, system, storage, I am unable to change the default install path to my storage drive (F:). Everything else (pictures, documents, music, etc.) can be changed to F:, but app install can't. I am able to manually change it while installing programs, but I would like to set it as the default.

Still display Chinese.

In build 10240 I can download a Danish language pack in Settings. However I can't set it as primary... How to do this?

For some reason my computer installed windows 10 in Korean. Luckily I can understand a bit of Korean but I have tried changing all the location and language and keyboard settings back to english but everything still remains in Korean. It even says the main language is Korean. My usb that allows me to connect to the internet isn't working with windows 10 atm so I haven't got internet on my pc. I've tried all the settings on my pc and changed everything possible back to English but all remains in Korean. Not sure if I'm missing anything but it just wont work.

I tried restartng and signing out of my account and my pc several times. It shows Korean on the start screen too.

View 1 RepliesI recently purchased a new Dell laptop with Windows 10. I understand that Windows 10 defaults savings documents to the Documents folder on OneDrive. Every time I download documents, they get saved to OneDrive > Documents; whereas, I want them to save to the local Documents folder. I found an article that discussed how to change this by setting the Set Save Location to my local Documents folder. I did that, but Windows is not recognizing the change. Documents still get saved to OneDrive > Documents.how to fix this?
View 5 RepliesI recently upgraded one of our Windows 7 Pro computers to Windows 10 Pro. The computer has several printers attached to it. One HP networked printer and two Zebra label printers that are local via USB. Both of the local label printers are being shared through the computer so that others on the local network can use them as well.
The issue I am having since the upgrade is that when any of the other users on the network prints to one of the label printers, it changes the default printer on the hosting computer to that label printer. I can manually change the default printer on that computer back to the networked HP, but the next time some other user prints to one of the shared label printers, the default printer on the hosting computer switches the default back to that label printer.
I already turned off the Windows 10 option to manage the default printers. I've updated just about every driver I can think of, reinstalled printers, un-shared/re-shared the label printers, ran Windows updates, etc.
