I download a Windows 10 ISO File from [Windows 10 ISO Download] and made a dvd, can I use this on any computer now or only on mine where it was created?
Also, how do I remove the windows notice to download and install win 10?
I am just going to say up front that I don't have the Pro version of Windows 10 so I have no Group Policy Editor otherwise I would have fixed this problem in less than a minute instead of wasting over a hour trying to fix this.
I want to disable this on the screenshot for any future files I download. I searched online but every post says I have to use gpedit.msc which I don't have. I am getting very frustrated. I don't want to mess around in the registry. Some one just link a .reg file to disable this annoyance so I can just import it and be done.
I just bought a new Dell computer. I created a disk image of the old Dell computer to an external drive, How do I move the disk image from the external drive to the new computer. Also I will not mind if I can be directed to a third party software that can do the job for me. I am using Windows 10 on both machines.
View 2 RepliesI'm on Win 10 pro with all the updates installed. I just did a clean install today think something went wrong but the problem has not stopped. The system is pretty much like new with barely any programs installed and the problem still happens. I'm using Winrar 5.21. When I try to extract the 6GB rar file, the system suddenly restarts. Also when I'm trying to build previews/analyse a large amount of files in Adobe lightroom the same thing happens. I'm assuming that any app using a lot of RAM/CPU will exhibit this issue. I suspect I have a hardware RAM or CPU issue and that it may have gone bad. How do I check my hardware first? I'm certain it isn't a windows issue because the moment the os booted to the desktop itself I check the rar file extract and the computer abruptly restarted.

Since upgrading to Windows 10, why is my computer so slow to open a file, internet page even after doing a reboot, it is so slow and sometimes doesn't even open.
View 1 RepliesIm having trouble with my Windows 10 clean install. Once it installs it says it is resetting to complete installation, after it resets it will not load to the windows screen. It just loads bios and hangs with a prompt flashing on a black screen. I then used DISKPART to clean the disks and tried a new install in MBR and again in GPT formats, still the same result. What am I doing wrong? Are the RAID drives causing the problem? The machine was running fine before. I had a free upgrade from 7 and did the process of upgrading to 10 first before the clean install to activate the product. That went fine. I ran the hardware diagnostics from the BIOS and it failed the boot test with error code BIOHD3. Warning: No active partitions.

View 6 RepliesI've recently been trying to upgrade from Windows 7 to Windows 10. I have tried to use the installer provided by Microsoft but the installer hangs on Checking For Updates. This doesn't end and I cannot pass it. I cannot use windows update to get the update as it just keeps searching for hours on end. I have tried to install the OS from USB and click 'Upgrade the System' but the OS will not activate; I guess it does not count as upgrading my OS so the key is not registered.
I have tried following this (Windows 10 - Upgrade Installation) and I have downloaded the ISO stated in Step 6 using option 1 (Windows 10 ISO Download) but then when I get to Step 7 #8, the ISO does not have Setup.exe?

Then, a box popped up saying," Windows cannot open the required file D:Sourcesinstall.wim. As my computer is only 6 weeks old I have contacted the support line twice, each time resulting in an hour and a half phone call. They don't seem to know what it is, they have gone back to a date before 'the event' but it happened again. I only have very basic knowledge of computers and am not getting anywhere.

If I have a working Windows 10 on a HDD (or SSD), and I'm ready to junk that computer and want to move that "licensed" version of Windows 10 and the HDD to a new machine, how does Microsoft deal with the hardware ID since the ID is based on the old hardware and not the new?

View 4 RepliesI have win 10 pro installed on a Samsung 850 pro SSD. In Bios it lists Windows Boot Manager as the #1 option. I selected Samsung ssd as my #1 option, saved and exited. Computer will not boot. Says No OS found-insert media and restart. Did that a couple times. No Boot. Set Bios back to Windows Boot Manager. Everything runs fine. Also Sata controller set to AHCI. Is this normal for Windows 10? In Device manager my storage controller says Microsoft storage space controller.
