Old Ripped CDs Vanished - How To Get Back And Play These
Mar 11, 2016I have just moved to W10. All is fine except I cannot find all the CDs I ripped. Where they are and how I can play them?

Sep 29, 2015I set up a wake-up alarm in the Computer management --> Task Scheduler that automatically plays a custom mp3 every morning at 7AM.The speaker is in my monitor and it goes sleep 10 min after idle. It's ok, I don't want to keep it turned on for whole nights. But, when the scheduled alarm comes, it does not automatically turn back on the monitor and therefore its speaker doesn't play the MP3 because the monitor remains in sleep.I tired various ways to make the alarm turn the monitor back on but failed.I just need my music file played as an alarm in the mornings.

1. Desktop icons have vanished (cannot right click on desktop)
2. Taskbar icons have vanished (got them back as right-click works on taskbar)
3. Cannot minimise window (browser, Outlook etc)
Is this an 'update' or have I carelessly altered something?
Desktop Vanished - Only Home Screen Shown
Jan 30, 2016When ever I turn on my pc it shows this home screen, and if I access desktop by searching it a folder opens which contain desktop icon and even by pressing windows logo button it doesn't change to desktop but remains at that home screen. I am using different thing by Tab+Alt buttons.
Also you can see the task bar it has a strange view that was never before and see the bottom right corner it is strange! also by clicking the extreme bottom right corner I didn't reach the desktop. (Not even by pressing Windows logo+D button).
Installation :: Downloading To Over 75% Progress But Vanished From The Desktop?
Aug 2, 2015I was trying to used media creation tool to upgrade from windows 8.1 to windows 10 but having progressed to over 75% it vanished from the desktop. What else should i do because it has happened twice. Better still, where can i find the downloaded setup on my pc.

Oct 10, 2015I was running Windows 7 and upgraded to Windows 10. I lost no data or programs or pictures, etc. Windows 10 worked fine for about a month and then developed a "restart required" loop. After several attempts I tried the Recovery option, thinking it would take me back to a restore point as in Windows 7. Instead it took me back to Windows 7 and all data and programs (other than the Windows 7 default programs) are gone. How can I get back to either 7 with my data and programs or 10 with my data and programs?

Oct 6, 2015Worked fine yesterday and now today any browser that tries to load a video freezes. Any video I try to start with media player or VLC just starts to load up and stops, nothing happens. Have been searching for fixes, Cleared internet history cache, checked in control panel for video options .No clue how to try reinstalling flash to see if that is the problem because its built into windows 10.

Nov 23, 2015I am aware that windows 10 (I am used to Windows 7) will not negatively play MPG files. I know this is a side effect of the codec being ripped out to prevent DVD playback via Media Player. The annoying thing is I have quite a few family MPG files mainly from our ageing Sony Camcorder on my system. Luckily I have Cyberlink Media Show pre installed that can play the files within it's own software and the media suite (espresso) can convert said files to other formats.
However, converting takes time and it is frustrating that media player 12 won't do the job and Windows Explorer won't display these MPG files with the handy thumbnail within file explorer viewing. Given that I am a little distrustful of codec packs and all my other files such as MP4, WMV etc etc play well I am looking for a solution that maybe just allows windows explorer to display the thumbnails and as an added bonus Media Player can once again play them. It does seem draconian that MS stifled a common playback format such as MPG in the last 2 windows and a major backwards step. I know I could download something like VLC or Media Player Classic but it seems pointless seeing as I have software that can already play them.
I tried K Lite Codec Pack a while back but hated the effect it had that I uninstalled. It was causing thumbnails to constantly refresh everytime I opened a folder. So is there a way of slipping in a single codec only related to MPG files without risk of unsettling all the other stuff that works well? Many of the codec packs seem to have the unpleasant side effect of slipping in extra installations and seem very dodgy and capable of causing grief.
