Unlike Windows 8.1, the screen on my Yoga 2 Pro doesn't rotate when I turn the device upside down to "tent" mode after installing Windows 10. When swiping right to show the Action Center, the Rotation Lock tile is disabled, as is this setting in the Control Panel.

View 4 RepliesI have a brand new Dell Inspiron 7348 2 in 1 on Windows 10. I just noticed today that it would not auto rotate and that the option for Rotation Lock in Action Center and in the Display Setting is greyed out. My computer had all the latest updates and I just updated the drivers and the problem still persists. The problem did not occur 12/6/15 so I thought that one of the updates since then had been the cause. I uninstalled them one by one to no avail. On a possibly similar note, when I boot up, airplane mode is automatically enabled and Action Center is in Quiet Hours, even though it doesn't show it. I can resolve those both by clicking their respective icons but thought that it might me related to my current problem with rotation lock.

I don't have the option 'screen rotation" in my action center any more... It's not a big deal because I can still use that function by using the shortcut windows + 0 but it's missing and sometimes annoying to go plug the keyboard just to use that function...
I guess I should be able to turn it back on by changing something in the regedit...
Recently finished upgrade of Win 10 Home Tablet to Version 1511 and Screen rotation no longer works. I have checked Device Manager and everything is indicating OK with exception of Other Devices and that indicates there is an Unknown Device and no driver installed. I do not think this has anything to do with the problem as I understand the Display adapter controls the rotation. I have checked the Display section in Control Panel and no mention of screen being locked or for that matter unlocked.The Tablet manufacturer is Connect and the Display adapter is Intel(R) HD Graphics with Driver dated 17/08/2015 and Version 10.18.10.4276. This is same as my laptop and it works OK.

View 6 RepliesI upgraded to Win 10 on Friday, and since, despite several resetting PC attempts, Win 10 will not load to the login screen. Instead, it is stuck on a loop flashing between the lock screen and a gray loading screen quickly back to the lock screen -- instead of loading to the login screen. This only happens when I attempt to restart or update my PC. If I go to the lock screen because I locked my PC or it fell asleep, I can unlock it. I have also attempted to reset my PC to the previous build, to no avail. I have no restore points.

When I click Rotate Left or Rotate Right nothing happens. I need to rotate many images before I upload them to Amazon.com, where they cannot be rotated. By the way, if I need to go into Windows Live or the Edit, where you use the paint brushes and such, (No longer have the original MS installation disc.)
Since the latest update (It introduced the slide show of pictures on the lock screen. I think it is KB3124200) I haven't been able to press Enter or Space or any other key for that matter to "slide up" the lock screen photo to get to the password screen. I've looked through the lock screen settings, but I see nothing that could prevent this.
View 2 RepliesI upgraded from Windows 8 to 10 without a hitch an hour ago and kept all of my personal files and apps. I set up my start menu and everything was working fine, but I wanted to change the image on the logon screen (or whatever you call the screen in between the lock screen and the screen where you enter your PIN/info). So I took a risk and downloaded the 3rd party app here:
[URL] and uploaded an image and hit apply. Of course right after doing that I went to lock my PC to see if it worked, and as you can tell... it didn't.
I've tried rebooting and it hasn't worked. It's just very rapidly flashing between a blue screen w/ a loading circle and my lock screen image.
Windows 10 auto rotates photos - now when I drag and drop photos to word 10, which way they will rotate - all portrait become landscape = as I use many tens of photos per report this is really annoying.
With win 7, I could just drag and drop straight into a word table portrait remained portrait, landscape remained landscape. Can I disable auto rotate? is there another work around as I like win 10
I just upgraded from Win 8 to Win 10 and just realised there isn't a keyboard shortcut for rotating the picture anti-clockwise?
View 5 RepliesThis might be a stupid question but I havent found a solution for it myself, probably looking in all the wrong places.. would like to be able to have my computer go to the lock screen after an alotted time of inactivity without turning off the screen itself as in the power settings. I usually have screen shutoff/sleep set for longer periods but would like the screen to lock sooner.

View 1 RepliesI've just returned from Europe with over 2,500 pictures, many of them photos of paintings that I took vertically with my Leica X2. When beginning to edit them with Microsoft Picture Manager, I found when looking at thumbnails that the verticals were not displayed rotated. And when reviewing individual vertical photos and saving them rotated, they still displayed vertically when again looking at thumbnails.
I have been using Picture Manager for several years with Windows 7 and Office 2010 and the same camera -- and the verticals were always auto-rotated and stayed rotated after being saved.
In win7 and win8.1, i could set the screen of my tablet (Lenovo Miix3) to switch off after 3 min (not sleep, just switch off the screen). Tapping the touchscreen would bring it immediately to life again.
With win10, this does not happen. I need to click the on/off button to bring up the screen. So, it seems that Win10 switches off the touchscreen electronics. This is not a hardware issue, because previous Windows versions would let me switch off the touchscreen backlight but retain its sensitivity to touch (and therefore switching on upon tapping).
What do I need to do to restore the standard behavior (tappable touchscreen after switchoff) in Win10?
My touch screen randomly won't work, only to find that it's disabled in Device Manager. "USB Input Device" is what it shows up as. I believe it's a software I have installed that may be interfering.

View 1 RepliesI upgraded (free) from 7 to 10 a month ago and all is going well apart from the lock screen. Sometimes when I boot up I see the lock screen for the briefest moment before I get to the regular sign in screen. Win+L does not result in a Lock screen but the regular sign in screen (Blue window and bottom left options).
I have tried the NoLockScreen DWord registry option with no luck either. Both manually and as a 'reg' file insert. Lock screen is set on via settings and I can select Spotlight, background images and apps to show etc.
I do not have Gpedit.msc as I have the Home version of Win 10.
I have been trying site after site to try and find a way to stop an uploaded photo from rotating
View 2 RepliesI've been running Windows 10 myself for a few days. My girlfriend for a few weeks/months. We noticed a small something that is not much but is getting on the nerve after a while.
We lock our computer or put them to sleep and when trying to get from the lock screen to the login screen, nothing is happening. We wait a few moment and everything is fine. Here is a few cases...
I'm at the lock screen. Click the mouse or hit a key. Nothing. Try a few times and I get to the login screen.
Another case : From the lock screen, hit a key on the keyboard multiple time and nothing. Click the mouse once and it's ok.
Everything work fine after that and it's no big deal but whe having to do this game a few times each days it's start to get on the nerve. Sometimes it's fine and we get to the login screen right away.
In my case it's a brand new install and in the case of my girlfriend it's an upgrade from 8.1.
My lock screen has a notification of a speech bubble with 99+ written next to it. I can't work out what it's referring to.

Recently i notice that i am not being presented with the lock screen initially before the login screen. I don't recall doing anything to bypass the lock screen. how to get the lock screen back?
View 7 RepliesThis issue has plagued me since I've transitioned to Windows 8 and up. The Lock Screen feature (primarily ctrl + w) gets in the way of using certain programs. I've tried a few methods, all of which either don't work or stopped working.

Is there any other way to disable this feature? It's the only problem I have with this OS. As I've said before, one of the methods worked fine but I feel that an update might have nullified my changes.
